Just got the "news" my eldest daughter has a partner. I am so happy that she has someone who adores her, respects her and that they just really like one another. Admittedly it will take some time to adjust due to cultural conditioning but I am grateful that the love in my heart for her far outweighs judgements.

My mother never loved her own kids and I had an uncle that his kids hated him. Awful. No it doesn’t. It’s against the church’s teachings and considered sinful but it does not mean you’re “going to hell”. I was raised Mormon and although I’m gay myself and no longer practicing, that’s just not how it is. It’s a lot more complex than that.

one of the things that I truly love about both Donny and Marie, as much as they are devout mormons, they are unafraid to speak up when it is in error. When proposition hate (as it was referred to at the time by the gay community) was having millions pumped into the this horrible idea by the mormon church, Donny and Marie were not silent, they spoke up, and said how wrong it was.

It is interesting if you go back to a talk from one of your prophets of the church you attend he clearly speaks against being gay or being.lesbian. l had to deal with youth in this same church who bullied one of my daughters for having mixed skin. In particular one girl wrote her a letter and told her that because of her skin color she was of the devil. This has stayed with my daughter to this day.love yourself no matter what others think or say and make a success of your life like my daughter did. Yes, God does love everybody! Who cares about the ignorance of others. It is what it is. I too have a gay granddaughter. I'm proud of her. I was one of those ppl who use to judge gays. And by the way, besides knowing that Mormonism is a false religion...I brought up the subject of homosexuality in previous comments, because one of my brother's, who I saw take his last breath in my home at just age 33, and who I miss dearly, was a great guy, but was also a homosexual, who ended up dying of AIDS in 1993, because of his evil actions, but know from God's promises, that he's in Heaven, and I will see him again one day, because I know for a fact he repented, and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. In other words, it doesn't matter what we've done, and its not too late to be saved, because today is the day of salvation, since we may not have tomorrow.

Marie Osmond l am with you as we should use love not fear. It is interesting if you go back to a talk from one of your prophets of the church you attend he clearly speaks against being gay or being.lesbian. l had to deal with youth in this same church who bullied one of my daughters for having mixed skin. In particular one girl wrote her a letter and told her that because of her skin color she was of the devil. This has stayed with my daughter to this day.love yourself no matter what others think or say and make a success of your life like my daughter did. In the church you attend they sing the song love one another, and that is what we should do despite the differences. Thank you for speaking out Marie, maybe you saved a childs life by doing so.
