    A beautiful example of the right way to hold space for someone grieving. Drew didn’t quickly move on or make a light hearted comment to lighten the moment she really leaned in and created a safe place for Marie to share and not be left feeling like she’s burdened people with her emotions. I’m a die hard Drew fan but this really solidified how empathetic and precious of a woman she is.

    I don't think Marie should have been judged by anyone on how she handled going back to work after the loss of her son. Shame on anyone who didn't give her the freedom to grieve & process & move forward how ever was best for her. I have always had nothing but respect and love for this woman and I'm adding Drew to that now as well because she handled a real human moment in a loving way and turned it into a teaching moment.

      I agree. After I lost both sisters and my father all in a year and half from unrelated things, getting back to work was what got me through the devastation. I had to tone the grief out and allow it to hit me a little at a time and getting back my routine was exactly what I needed.

  • @RaymondTF4Ever
    @RaymondTF4Ever 2 года назад +6

    My entire life, my parents were my only family. Both were orphaned at an early age. I never had aunts or uncles, grandparents or other siblings. My mother passed in 1994, half my family. My father passed in 2016, the other half of my family. With no base left when my father passed, I was forced to continue and move forward. I took care of my father by myself, through all his health issues for about the last 20 years of his life. But I know he was happy regardless when he passed.
    If there is one piece of life advice I can give to anyone who lost someone that close. All I can tell you is not to believe you've lost the people that left our lives. I always tell people that I didn't so much loose my father that fateful day in 2016. He just moved away from reality into a place in my heart, just a fingertip away from actually being here with me. If I concentrate and listen real closely... my father and my mother will always be in the back of my mind. And every so often I can still hear my dad grumble about something trivial in the back of my mind. They will never leave my soul for as long as I live. And yes, it hurts. But the more it hurts, the more you have your proof that you loved each other.

    Wow, I clicked on this because I was just wondering what Marie Osmond was doing right now and a puddle of tears later, I can say that anyone who would criticize another person for how they handle tragedy is just plain sick themselves! If there's anything Marie Osmond has always been, it's a mom who raised the bar for all the working moms everywhere. I've been a fan since I was a little girl in the 1970s but I remained a fan because she never stopped being her super talented self while having babies, adding to her family and continuously being a wholehearted mom at the same time. She's always been very candid about her personal life, honest with her fans. She's phenomenal and this is just one more example of that.

    Applause to Drew Barrymore; what a classy and smart lady because she asked questions that make Marie Osmond or a celebrity human. Bravo. Bravo. That was an on air difficult moment to go throw. She was not fused by the moment. She was in control. Thoughtful yet focus. She was focused enough that no one lost their emotional balance especially Marie. That was a hard moment; yet both women shined through it all. Bravo again. What a class act; Drew. Show these young actors what old Hollywood is all about.

    It’s true, you never get over losses you just have to keep going. I lost 2 of my cats last year in a 2 month span. They just vanished and l became a nut case and depressed and almost a zombie. I was not myself for a very very long time and l could not get over the fact they were gone. I still hurt every day and l to this day cannot look at their pictures. Devastation happens whether it’s a human or your pets. I don’t think I will ever be fully happy in my life because of it. Nobody in my family knows l feel this way, they just know l changed personality wise.

    I remember when her son passed away. He was in his highrise apartment with other siblings when he got a phone call. After the call he just casually walked out to the balcony and just jumped. I always wondered who and what the phone call was about to make him just suddenly plunge to his death. He was also gay.
