Thank you for posting! I’m in NY - never had an opportunity to see The Stranglers but have been following these amazing guys since 1987!!! What a great show - they sound like a musical force of nature! So many great tunes! Cheers for catching this fantastic show and posting! 😎👍🎸🎶🎶🎶
Fantastic to see The Stranglers touring again. It's 45 years since I first heard them, when Peaches, Something Better Change, No More Heroes, Nice N' Sleazy and Walk On By were in the charts and although I drifted away to other types of music over the years they will always have a place in my heart as one of the greatest bands I've ever heard or seen live. When Dave died I thought they would never play again but Toby's sound on the keyboards is so faithful to Dave's that when I close my eyes it's as if I am still listing to what they sounded like coming across the airwaves on medium wave from Radio Luxembourg or John Peel's programme all those years ago. Especially the way he plays on Walk On By. Hugh's voice was unique of course, and I think impossible to replace but I'm more than happy to accept them as they are now and hope to get a chance to watch them play live again.

An amazing gig. What completely amazes me about this band is how, despite the changes within the band due to heartbreaking ends, it still retains the energy and the new members do a tremendous job. Jean Jaques is one of my music hero's, he's a great man and one of the best bassists around and of course a quite brilliant songwriter. Beautiful, thankyou!.
Love the stranglers amazing band nobody else sounds like them so sad about Dave but Toby is great and sounds just right Dave would agree RIP Dave Greenfield thanks for all the brilliant music
This will be my last Stranglers gig now that Dave and Jet are gone and with only one original member left I felt it was time to call it a day. I had bought the tickets as Dave was still with us but after COVID decided to go. Brilliant gig but no Dave just left me cold. Thanks to the band for 43 years of incredible music and for uploading this gig.
Man! All the good aul' tunes and all the good new tunes. I'm so happy The Stranglers have still got the magic, that the new fellas acquit themselves well including the new keyboardist. Now all they need to do is tour the states. one. more. time...
And if they do, make sure they keep The Southgate House Revival in The Original Sin City, Newport, KY (Home of the late, great, and legendary Jockey Club) in mind when booking dates.....
Yeah right . Them over here . Jean complaints about what a pain in the ass to come over here , kinda hurts my feelings . We're not that bad . I'll never see them in the flesh in my life time . It sucks ! I think it's selfish . And they came to the worst 2 States ever

never underrated......................................... greatness in overdrive............................... a masterpiece of an idea..................... THE STRANGLERS...................... oil paint greatness on a stage. forever and eternal.
I'm 27 and discovered the Stranglers a couple of years ago. I wasn't there yet to live their Mark I era but I'm glad they're still around and still rock.
Great gig guys. New guy Toby spot on. Just gotta say what a great guitarist live Baz is. Never disappoints. Note perfect. Think enough time has passed to forgive him for Nellie the Elephant!
Great recording. So interesting how they start with all their Mellow stuff and then turn it up. I never thought Dave could be replaced but they sound perfect.
I missed this tour deliberately but it seems that was a mistake as the new songs are great and really freshen things up. Who knows what the future of the Stranglers is now but they should be thanked for all the years of great music - and yes this includes many things made since Hugh left.
According to an interview with JJ there's a group of blokes, big fans of the band, known as 'Daves Disciples' who learned from Dave in regards to his keyboard-playing style. Toby is the best of them and when he plays Dave's keyboard tracks he refuses to change them in any way and insists on always playing them the way Dave intended.
seen the stranglers at the 02 in Birmingham a couple of months ago and they were superb as usual and I thought the stranglers crowd were awesome throughout the gig. can I get a copy of this gig on DVD ? I'd pay whatever the cost or exchange for some of my stranglers live DVDs.
Awesome! Cant wait to see the boys down under in '23. might need to change their set a tad. I love the post-punk, but everyone loves what they did after that in Oz..

Brilliant stuff. RIP Dave, but the keyboard solo by Toby on Walk On By is just sublime. What a band.
Yea that solo was impeccable
Great to see live music again, and punk rock music at that, long live the stranglers
I went to the Leeds gig for my 12th birthday as it was on the day that my birthday was very much enjoyable my first proper gig

Great comment 👍
Finally a comment that isn't along the lines of "AHHHH HUGH IS GONE, BAND IS BAD NOW
We listened to the band in Oktober-22 in Stockholm, since then they are my favorites!!!

This one was my mum

This one when the kids stayed out too late in their first car
If you were to chase
The lines on my face

The song for 31:33 is called Curfew rather than Black and White- the album it is from.
@@saintlysamba9327 You're quite right, thanks for pointing that mistake out to me, RR, I'll edit the post.
Great to see them still going strong. The recent album is superb.

Come to Australia please.
Didn't Toby do a fine job? Tough shoes to fill but he did it admirably.. I'm sure DG would have approved.
Here's an excellent Stranglers gig, made for a French television show: ruclips.net/video/jzGfwEXPIwM/видео.html
I would say that Toby certainly earned his spurs.
He did, he does! Admirable, not an easy task to satisfy us critical fans of 40 + years!!! Give him cred 🐀🖤
SUPERB thanks!
I love you. The Best from France 🇫🇷 merci.

Absolutely bang on! Where on earth did they get the keyboard player from - what a star!
Toby Hounsam is playing Keyboards......
Correction: It's Hounsham; apologies for the error.....

@@wolfenstein6676 Thanks for the info. Didn't think they'd be able to get anybody to replace Dave - I was wrong.
