Quick update, Bello only works on artifacts and enchantments with mana value 4 or greater, which I apparently didn’t say, but did show in the video, so I just wanted to clear that up here.
Also me showing reclamation sage for Zinnia was silly with it not being green. I guess my brain was stuck on Riku there.
Those are both my bad, and I just wanted to clarify here, I always try to be mistake free, but sometimes things happen 😂.

I can't stop thinking about how weird Offspring is flavor-wise, but also how weird Offspring works with the Legend rule. Like, imagine it. You cast an Urza, Lord Protector, and you pay the offspring cost. Suddenly, Urza gives birth to an almost identical version of himself, except he's much smaller. Urza then is forced to name the baby after himself, and then the legend rule kicks in, saying either he or the baby has to be eliminated from the fabric of reality. That's...a bit disturbing.

Well that’s just accurate to the lore. Urza literally performed cloning and selective breeding experiments.
Same with Artifacts. Robots can now give birth in Magic.
It makes sense if you assume you weren't supposed to use in legendary creatures, in the virtue that you cant keep both anyways.

Definitely gonna want noncreature tokens in that Squirrel deck. Tapping Clues or maybe even Role tokens could be unexpected mana that doesn’t leave you open for attack

I feel a strange urge to buy the Raccoon deck. I have no idea why I don’t like arrifact decks
It feels like it would be much stronger with enchantments, with all the synergies in green.

@@almisami Red has some crazy good artifact support, too, and Kamigawa had a ton of "If you control both" cards. I think leaning into enchantments and enchantress effects for the green half and some very explosive artifact combos for the red half would be the best approach.

that racoon one is insane, you are gonna need to protect that racoon with hexproof/indestructible instants
they missed a flavor slamdunk by not having the raccoon's subtheme being all about junk tokens

You still need to pay the original mana cost; it is a kicker-based mechanic. Also, none of the Emrakuls has ETBs, so it wouldn't do much

@@KNDMofficial The small copy just enters the battlefield, only the big one will be cast. It would still keep annihilator 6 though, but i think there are better targets than Eldrazi

I know they don’t have pandas on this plane but now I really want to proxy fan art of a panda playing a harmonica onto a Panharmonicon.
I might just buy Hazel of the Rootbloom's deck specifically just to put the cards in my Chatterfang, Squirrel General deck.

Definitely getting the Squirrel precon. I'm planning on doing a weird Ygra commander + Squirrels as the main creature type deck that focuses on nuking my own creatures to tron Ygra up for a bunch of commander damage

bello being a 3 drop that also makes them indestructible with haste and card draw makes me think this commander will be way too good for casual tables

Hazel isn’t as squirrel focused as I thought she’d be, still a neat commander though! Makes me curious to see how the backup commander plays, I’d imagine it’s more directly squirrel focused
If nothing else Chatterfang should be in the deck. You can still make your squirrel if you want to!

Pippin is essential for the Hazel deck basically duplicates mana and forage resources. Doubling season and Chatterfang also would be great basically making an exponential army 🤤

So hazel and chatter fang as long as I have 1 squirrel token I’m making 4 squirrel tokens every turn.
That would only be 3 per turn cuz chatterfang says making one or more tokens then +1 squirrel and the two squirrels are made in one trigger
Edit: you would be correct I was misremembering the card
@@sammieburrell8977 chatterfang makes an equal amount of tokens for each token created in that instance. So if I make 3 zombies I also make 3 squirrels. With hazel you make 2 squirrels so chatterfang makes 2 more.

I have a raccoon tattoo, therefore I am required to get Bello. Also I love decks that transform utilities into murder machines anyway.
Already thinking of infinite cast combos like Food Chain or Temur Sabretooth that let Ms Bumbleflower draw out the opponents
Don't forget to add Gluntch and Orzhov Advoket. Great for group hug tactics.

Ms. Bumbleflower is NOT going to be group hug. Just isochron/dramatic Reversal for instawin. Find a way to recycle spells infinitely and win. Basically, similar to flip heliod

Any idea how to work with zinnia's offspring mechanic? I can't fathom how 2 extra mana makes a good strategie
I would look at how people build Riku, who works very similarly. Doubling ETBs and naturally going wide is really powerful, turning basically every creature into a potential “cantrip” as you get that creature plus another card, plus you get “mana” equal to the difference in mana between the creature and (2).
What happens when there are 3 of more zinnias on the battlefield? Do they each go to 2 then 1? Seems like it would break the game
I'm under the impression those effects usually see the creatures then are done whether power changes
Not that that's at much threat of happening. If you have cards that duplicate legendary creatures you're not going to use that on zinnia. It doesn't seem like a creature can have offspring multiple times and they have no other effect that makes legendary dupe worth running for them
Since it only cares about base power 1, the boost doesn’t change whether it qualifies or not since it’s an additive boost, not replacing what the power is, I believe.

Not even the only mistake he made here. When he was describeing Bello's ability, he didn't mention the restriction that he only animiates things with MV4+. Before I re-read the actual card, I was assuming Bello would be beyond busted in Treasure decks.
Honestly suqrl deck is lackluser compared to chatterfang still. Probably will gut it and put the main man at the front and the precon will be in the 99. Chatter is just 1000010% better as a commander than the new suqirl. Its more like a 99 card. Chatter is literally a token doubler AND a REMOVLE ON A STICK.

The raccoon makes me angry despite it being such a cool design. Once chishiro the shattered blade was created, i have been hoping gruul would get powerful equipment and auras support. The raccoon is the exact opposite of what i wanted, only working with non auras and non equipment. Sad. Still a cool design, but i just want justice for my snake boi

Ok but Miss bumbleflower isn't inherently a Group Hug commander, she's a political commander, you can definitely build a group hug deck around her but by herself thats not the natural direction she leans

Ms. Bumbleflower seems pretty bad. Bant doesn't really have cards that benefit from making opponents draw cards as far as I'm aware besides consecrated sphinx and smothering tithe.
The rabbit is a terrible commander esp against control decks. Should be a common card.

I like Zinnia design, however the art is so underwhelming. Also, why they are pushing for full-art commanders instead of classic foils? Full-arts are ugly.

These commanders blow
some are pretty decent. but these are only from the pre cons so they will all have an alternative to the face commander and might be a little more powerful.

Yea i do too. I feel like it would be a good compliment to Chatterfang but not so great on its own. Who knows though maybe it will have some cards that help its ability.

ms bumbleflower with smothering tithe is the only synergy i find with this commander, i really hope the 99 are punishing opponents for drawing cause it's not looking good

It's a group hug deck, the main thing with it is giving a lot of things to opponents, benefiting yourself and them going "well you have a pretty board, it's a shame that..."

Kwain decks can do some very silly and unfair things and that has one color less and fewer ways to force opponents to draw cards. I could see Bumbleflower working as a Forced Fruition deck, kinda like a Nekuzar in Bant.
