i just bought the tamron 24-70 for the Z camera based off your recommendation! it's working sooo good! instant favorite right now. the auto focus works well.
Its good to know you enjoy the Tamron 24-70mm but it must be one of the few Tamron/Sigma lenses that works without issues with Nikons adapter,i just bought the Nikon Z6ii myself and basically none of my Tamrons or Sigmas work flawlessly, its to learn manual focus all over again i guess
Do you have to update the firmware and then it will work. I have the tap in consul for the Tamron lenses that connects your lens to the computer and they all need to be updated to work with all the Z cameras half the people out there doesn’t know about that and just think that it doesn’t work anymore.
Thank you for the exact info I was looking for. I bought the 24-70 off of your Amazon link before I could finish watching your video! They do go fast!! I didn't think I would get into videos but, when you hang around business networking events often and shoot it, inevitably some wants to know if you do videos as well. Yet one more skill I have to learn quickly in order to survive and thrive in this crazy world!!
Thank you Nadja for using my link. You are the best :) I also have some videos on the best video setting you should use for your Z6 so check that out! I'm also uploading, understanding how the VR system works in the Z camera too. Let me know if you have any questions!
I rented both of the Tamron lenses two years ago for my first wedding using my D 800 and after I sent them back I immediately bought the 70-200 g2. I picked up the Nikon Z6 and it worked flawless on here for the past year and a half. Couple months ago I picked up the tamron 24-70 G2. I love the lens but I can barely use it. I’m thinking about trading it in. I’ve been extremely happy with the image results from the lenses. I love. Adapting lenses to my Nikon Z6 and my Z5. I recently picked up the Sigma 105 mm F1.4 and oh my God hands-down the best ones I’ve ever used. And I thought my Nikon 85 mm F1.8 S was the bomb the sigma is that much better
@@CameraToFreedom it is so sharp at f 1.4 it's hard to believe. The depth of field and it's fall off is so nice and smooth. I rented it to try it out on my Z6 and I was blown away. So many of our fellow Nikon z camera users are all about native lenses. And I agree native lenses do perform better and some situations. But the sigma 105 mm will make you smile ear to ear and the eye autofocus hands down the best performance I have had with any of my adapted lenses.
Been enjoying your videos and enthusiasm for the Z6. So many people bagged on this camera and I have one that I love so nice to hear it is giving someone else joy. I looked at footage from every camera in the class and the Z6 was the best out-of-camera. It has warts, but image quality is all.
I totally agree! I love the colors right out of the camera! The review videos I’ve been making with my z6 and even my wedding videos, I don’t even color correct!
Same here with the Tamrons. I also have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 and 20mm 1.8. I love especially the 70-200. The quality is mind-blowing for 1/3 of the price of the Nikon version.
That’s true. It’s only worth getting the more expensive nikkor lens if you pixel peep and need your photos to be almost perfect but most of us don’t need to zoom all the way in to see the micro imperfections so we can save money and get the good lens.
@@chileanlover77 I use the lens with gimball, or on tripod. I like a bit better the 24mm but i film in very tight spaces so i need the extra wideness. I am happy with the lens.
Thanks for this, I've been struggling to nail down what lens I want for my Z6 for making my videos (been using loaner lenses on an FTZ), this was probably the most concise video I've seen on the matter!
I can't even lie... I put many lenses to the test on my Z6 and the Tamron 70-200mm G2 has put them to shame! The sigma 24-35 is pretty good on my z6 as well!!!
Deonte Cary yeah it’s crazy how good sigma and tamron are. Why even get the nikon lenses when they’re so expensive. Get the tamron 24-70 plus 70-200 plus a prime lens or get 1 Nikon 24-70 z lens. I’m all about the most out of your bucks!
F4 is definitely sharper and it's nice how small the F4 lens is which makes it so easy to carry. I shoot in dark rooms and reception ballrooms a lot so I need that extra stop the f2.8 gives and also love the bokeh as well. You got rid of your G2 lens?
@@CameraToFreedom if I need more light, I switch to the 50mm 1.8S, or my Tamron 35mm 1.4. I'm phasing out my F mount glass, but the 35mm 1.4 and 70-200mm G2 Tamrons are too good to give up.
nice to see this im from Puerto Rico n im about to buy this camera with the filmmaking kit!! bcuz im a filmmaker bt also a photographer so im looking something that I can do both!! so im love with this camera n the amazing lowlights setting!! this vid help me a lot!! u have a new subscribe here!!
Thanks for the support! I was wondering if my photographer viewers would be turned off on me making other kinds of videos. I love talking about the things I love!
This video is a little old but the third party lens work amazingly well. Ow there’s so much more nikon lens. My new favorite?! Tamron 35-159 z mount amzn.to/3ARecH9
I own the 70-200 2.8 G2 and nikon 24-70F4, still trying to save up to get the Tamron 24-70 G2. The 24-70 F4 S is not bright enough to shoot in low light
Yeah I agree. I'm not a big fan of the f4 lenses but I do have the 24-120mm f4 and the good thing is that the focus area is bigger so group photos come out clear compared to shooting f2.8. It does suck in dark areas.
Hey Myong... great and concise video, to the point. How much does the FTZ adapter reduce the performance - compared to same focal length of Nikon F series and S series lenses?
I don’t feel the ftz reducing performance. The lens feels exactly the same when using the ftz on Z6 compared to being on my older d750. The S lens definitely is made for the Z cameras so it just feels a little sharper. Ftz adapter might be the best adapter I’ve ever used. Almost flawless!
Hi, really useful video. How easy did you find it updating the firmware for your tamron lenses with the tap in console? My 70-200 G2 nikon shows an error message- I assume it’s because the firmware needs updating?
Yes you need to update then it works perfectly. Buy a used tap in console from eBay since you’re only going to use it for this update. Very easy to update.
Hi ! I got the 24-70 2.8 from Tamron but also the native 24-70 Z from Nikon, hard to say which one is the best with in terms of stabilisation .. Your thoughts ? Great content, keep it up ! 😃
So I deleted my last message to you since I was totally wrong and I’m going to make a video about the Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 lens my wife just bought me for Christmas. I love the nikkor lens! It has stabilization that most reviewers keep saying it doesn’t have just cause there is no switch externally! It feels slightly better then the Tamron. A little smoother and movement compared to being kinda robotic with the Tamron. Still good stabilization and gets rid of the micro jitters which is what’s important!
I use the in-camera VR when I stand in one place but if I know I'm going to move around then I turn off the in camera VR (Electronic Stabilizer). Thanks Sifat for subscribing. Let me know what's a good topic for Nikon tutorial you want to see.
@@CameraToFreedom The Nikon Z6 uses an in-body image stabilization on the sensor with a 3-axis system and not electronic which is an option that no one use because of the issues you are talking about. This is precisely one of the strong points of the Nikon Z.
Hi, @Myong Hong you are talking about the tamron G2, isn't it ? What about the tamron G1, does it work too and do the job for video ? Do The autofocus work perfectly with tamron G1 ?
I haven’t tested that out. The G2 needed to be updated with the Tamron Tap-in console for it to work with the nikon z cameras. I have feeling the G1 won’t work and can’t even be updated.
Those are nice consumer lens that you can carry around on vacation. But that’s also an APS-C crop sensor lens and you’re not using your full frames full potential if you want to shoot pro. Nothing wrong with consumer level. It’s still an amazing glass and a great deal for sure.
@@CameraToFreedom When you speak of inexpensive this lens is the best starter lens. There is nothing wrong with cropping if you are taking pictures which require VR and price is an issue. FX VR lense are very pricey, hence the DX choice.
Very good content and I was just looking for this exact information! I have a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2 and I use it on my D 750 and it's my workhorse lens. I'm thinking about adding a Z6 to my wedding work and some people reported that the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2 didn't work well with the FTZ adapter. I don't know if you experienced such a problem when you first started using this lens on the Z6. Did you update the firmware for both the camera and the adapter? Nikon 24-70 f2.8 S looks to be the best 24-70 lens but I just can't afford it now. That's why when I saw your video, I was so happy to hear your review.
They must’ve not known about updating the Tamron lenses with the tap-in console. It works great with the z6! It does make gear grinding nose a little bit but for photos, it’s amazing! Still good with videos too if you’re not using the internal mic audio. I have the nikon 24-79 f2.8 S also and yes it is the very best lens for the z camera but Tamron is right behind it!
@@CameraToFreedom for my wedding video, I will use Rode Wireless GO II that I just got it. I already tested it and I really love it for its simple setup and good audio quality. I don't use a separate sound recorder and I will directly record the audio from the receiver to my camera. I saw the increased demand for videography for a wedding shoot for the last few years or so and it's about time I added the video service to my wedding shoot.
I use all my G2 lenses all the time with my Z. Be sure your lenses are firmware’s updated with the Tap-in console and it will work perfectly, exactly the way way it did with your nikon dslr. If it’s not updated, the lenses will not work.
@@CameraToFreedom i got my z6ii now and when i attached the 24-70 g2 its working fine without updating the firmware. Now itsctoo heavy front. I think i need a good gimbal on this setup.
Oh good! They must’ve finally updated all the lens. When it first came out it wasn’t. Yes you need a strong gimbal like the DJI RS2. It will be heavy so get handle grips and even a waist holster to hold the bottom of the gimbal to it like this amzn.to/3LMj0h9
Hey there, usefull video!!! How does the Z6 AF performes with these Tamron G2-lenses at the gigs? Are they hunting for focus, or are they lowlight monsters in combination with the Z6?
They don’t hunt any more then using the S lenses. The Tamron lenses with the ftz adapters are just as good! Although I sold the G2 24-70 f2.8 to nikon’s S lens, I still use the G2 70-200 f2.8 a lot. Works perfectly!
I have a Nikon D750 with a Tamron 24-70mm F2.8 G2 lens, I'm thinking about upgrading to a mirrorless camera, in this case the Nikon Z6 II. I've seen several videos that say we have to update the lenses, with TAP-in Console. Did you do that? If I buy the Nikon Z6 II (body only) and put the Tamron in, will it work well for both video and photo? Will I have compatibility issues? will it work at 100% with a good auto focus?
Yes you will have to buy the tap in console to update your Tamron lens. I did that to all my Tamron lens and they all needed it. Then you can sale your tap in on eBay since you’ll never use it again.
I am a Dslr full time photographer, I use a d750 with a 16-35 afs F4, a 24-70 afs 2.8, 50 afs1.4g, 60mm micro afd, a 80-200afd. im still thinking on this transition to Z6ii or Z7ii or even what 2021 will bring us in terms of new cameras, but I am thinking if getting just an adapter for my lenses, or it's critical to get a Z lens, considering that I will do also video. I know the afd won't autofocus with the ftz, but that's OK for me, I don't do any wildlife or sports, mostly lifestyle, food, architecture or portraits. I heard that for video, z lenses have advantages. My doubt is on getting some Z primes for video and keeping the f mount for photography. Any thoughts are very welcomed. Thank you in advance!
It’s not critical to get a Z lens. I still have all my nikon, Tamron and sigma lenses and they work fine. I don’t have any afd lenses. I do own couple z lenses and they are amazing since it utilizes the z6 5 stop stabilizer and it’s amazing. But I am still very comfortable using the older lenses with the ftz adapter and it works great! You’ll be so happy to move up from d750 to any z cameras. It’s like driving a new car. Time to sell your old Honda Civic of a camera, Very durable but time to move to Tesla :)
How do you find eye af works on the G2 lenses with the z6? I’m getting a Z6ii and currently have the 70-200g2 but seen people saying it doesn’t work that well? Or didn’t before an update?
You just need to get the tamron Tap-in console and update your 70-200 g2 lens. It works perfectly after that. I use all my G2 lenses on my nikon z6 and works great!
Great video, good advice . I dont own any Z cameras but had the tamron 24-70 but had to give it up due to spherical aberration on my D850 (how does it perform with the Z cameras with corner focus acquisition? - I do still have the tamron 70-200 G version, How do both those lenses work on the Z cameras for focus speed and also for video, do you not hear any noises coming from the lens when filming. Any advice would be much appreciated (I dont own any Z cameras as yet).
The chromatic aberration is very minimal. These lens works so well with the Z camers. Just have to make sure the Tamron lenses are firmware update with the Tamron Tap-In Console. You can hear the gears grinding a little but I don't normally use the camera audio anyways.
M43 to Nikon Z adapter the link you post is not working, I am very interest this set up can you help me where can I buy the adapter for my Nikon Z6 please
M43 adapter is now gone since it really doesn’t work that well anyways. Now that’s I’ve had my Z for a while, you definitely want to stick to nikon Z lens or G lens with the ftz adapters.
I would like to know if you are facing any issue on this lens specially for video like focus or lowlight? Thanks im planning to get z6ii because i have g2 lenses. Please let me know. I watched this video 5x and still thinking about it
None of my tamron lenses have any issues with my Z6 camera. Yes I’d definitely would get the Z6ii because of the 2 card slot and 4K 60fps! Just be sure to buy the tamron tap-in console to make sure the tamron lenses are updated to the latest firmware. The only issue is that, every third party lenses makes a light gear grinding noise when it’s focusing.
After watching this great video, I bought SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 for my Z6 (with FTZ II adapter). They work very well together, and I bought SP 85mm F/1.8 Di VC USD later. However, it seems some autofocus issues with the 85mm...it even stop autofocusing sometimes. Have you ever run into this kind of situation with the Tamron 85mm, which you mentioned you would get it soon in the video? Thank you very much.
Roger thank you so much for the nice comment and for watching my video. I did get it and tested it out and I thought it was working fine but then nikon they release their own 85 mm for around the same price so I ended up getting the Nikon‘s version for our Nikon Z camera. If you can I would recommend you returning that tamron 85mm, if it’s not too late and get the nikon 85mm for the Z camera instead.
@@CameraToFreedom Your kind reply is really appreciated. I have tried Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.8G on my Z6...it's great but nothing particular. Then I ordered a Tamron 24-70mm after watching this video. I was so satisfied with Tamron 24-70mm that I ordered a pre-owned SP 85mm F/1.8 Di VC USD right away. However, the autofocus of SP 85mm seems lame...I'll figure out a way and thanks again.
I wonder if it needs to be firmware updated. I have a Tamron tap on console that I had to use to update my Tamron’s lenses. Wonder if it just needs an update then it’ll work perfectly!
When you have a Tamron lens with VC on your z camera, it cancels out Nikon’s IBIS. The option you’re talking about is the Electronic stabilization and it acts as an extra stabilization of a ‘tripod mode’ extra steady. It’s great to hold it still but not good if you are moving your camera around since that creates a warping image since the camera tries to stabilize still. Leave the Tamron VC on and turn off the Electronic Stabilization EV off unless you are trying to get that tripod like shot.
My latest RUclips videos have been my 35mm f1.8 so I can get some nice blurry bokeh. Otherwise it’ll be the 24-70 f2.8 lens since it can get wide enough for a self style shooting! You make RUclips videos?
@@CameraToFreedom thanks man. Yeah I have a quiz and brainteaser channel. Check it out if you like that sorta thing. I’m looking to get the Nikon Z6iii when it comes out. Do you prefer the prime or is the zoom more your fav? For the prime do you have to be pretty close to the lens?
I get the smooth focus but every single lens makes gear grinding noise except for the Z lenses. And even some Z lenses still make quiet gear noises. Weird how it does that.
Hi, will I get autofocus noise while making video with AFF+face direction ON with tamron or sigma lenses? Currently I use an Ftz adapter, and have that auto focus noise in video. If you stay in a place, it's OK, but if you want to follow a subject while walking, the noise is all the time. Thank you.
Yes the ftz adapted lens all seem to make grinding noise when it’s searching to focus. I hardly use the in camera audio and usually use a wireless mic to capture audio so this wasn’t a problem but it does suck that all ftz lens makes those noise. You’re just going to have to trade up your lens to nikon z lenses. I made this video when nikon z first came out and they didn’t have most of the z lenses but now there’s a lot of them that’s also good priced.
@@CameraToFreedom Hi and thanks for the quick replay. I was also thinking about buying a UHF wierless setup with SD card include just to be safe. I plan on using it for an upcoming weeding. Having only a shotgun mic won't be so helpful cause of lens noise, so probably I will paired bout system, to have a little bit of background sound and clear mic sound. I was thinking of buying an Nikkor 24-200mm for video, has good range, aperture is not the best, but ok for video to get all the people in focus. My z6ll will be use only for video and for foto I have my trusty d810 with all f lenses.
Do you feel the 24-70 is too much crop when shooting in 4k 60fps? I know there is a 1.5 crop making the 24 nearly a 36mm. I was kind of bummed about that
I do feel like there’s too much crop! I’m sure the next nikon mirrorless will fix that problem! Must be a marketing thing. Let’s take away some cool features so we can make sales on our next version!
Hello. Thank you for this video, I found it very helpful. I have 1 question. Can Nicon Z6 shoot action well? For example if I wanted to make a few fan films of Star Wars where there lots of light and action? Thank you for your time,
It’s ok that the lens doesn’t have stabilization. The cameras stabilization will be good enough. That lens is very specific and is great for real estate video or dramatic gimbal but for that price it’s definitely least of my choices. I had a 18mm f1.8 and found myself not using it as much. Why not 17-28 f2.8? More practical? F1.8 is faster but won’t be as versatile as the 17-28. But any lens is a great lens if you have fun with it.
isn't the lens noisy when shooting video with a lens on a ftz adapter? would that sound get picked up in the audio? I noticed when I put my f mount glass on the ftz and switched to video while it was focus hunting it was noisy
Yes I mention that it’s very noisy but I normally use wireless lapel mics for what i film. Definitely can’t use on camera audio with that loud focus motor sound.
Yes I do full time real estate photos and video during weekdays. Being as cheap as I am I use the apsc crop sea to 10mm wide lens and it’s great! I highly recommend the z6 for real estate stuff!
They are all good. It’s like comparing Toyota Corolla to a Honda civic. They are priced the same for a reason. I have sigma lenses also and I enjoy using both brands! Thanks for the comment! :)
I have the Tamron 24-50 sucks the rubber gasket has came off in 1 place .calling Tamron today to see if it can be fixed.? I have the older 70-200 the vr back then it was terrible . You can see it jurk trying to fix shake . I'm shooting with the Nikon Z6 also.
If you have the Tamron 1st generation then even mine came out in both those lenses. I was able to buy just the rubber part. Luckily I think they did a better job with the runners on gen 2. Unless you’re talking about G2!
Hello Myong, thank you so much for the video, very informative :). I have a question since you have Tamron lenses and the Nikon z6. Does the 3-axis stabilization(FTZ mounted) in the Nikon Z6 works along with the VC on the Tamron lenses?
They are compatible and do work together. When Z6 electronic VR is on and then you click the Tamron VC on, you see a slight increase in becoming very still! Second place to GH5 compared to all cameras.
I know this video is older I have the same lens but with the Nikon z72. I can't figure out how to get rid of camera shake. I'm holding it very still too. Do I not have the right settings?
You have to update your Tamron’s lens. Buy a used tap-in console for tamron lenses on eBay then update your lens. It allows you to connect your lens to your co outer and I put a firmware update. It will work perfectly then.
So does AF work good for you ? I have a sigma 35 & looking into getting another lens. I heard the Tamron AF doesn’t work well with AF and i can’t afford the Z mount lenses
Myong Hong thanks for the response 🙏🏾 cuz i was looking into a Tamron esp for video i heard people saying it bad for video but you say it’s works for you so i should be fine... Thanks for your help again 🙏🏾
Definitely Tamron 24-70 f2.8. That f2.8 is pro level. I should a lot in low light places and f2.8 does amazing in low light plus you get the very blurry background that f4 can’t create.
@@CameraToFreedom thanks for you answer but.. what is your opinion about sigma art zoom with nikon Z6 for video please ? Is it better than tamron or not ?
I’ve always buy both Sigma and Tamron brands and to me. They’re both the same. The prices are the same. The quality are all the same. At this point you just get the one that looks the nicest in your opinion. Kind of like asking is nikon better than canon and the answer is they’re both kind of the same they get the work done and they are both great and you can’t go wrong with either, and that’s the truth.
Some better then others. It’s not good if you are recording internally. It’s like a squeaky motor. Weird how it does that. Can’t believe that’s the main reason why I’m even considering on selling my lenses to get the z lenses since I hear they don’t make those motor noises! I’ll get one and test it out!
I have the Sigma 35mm no noise at all .The follow focus works great. This lens actually acts like a native lens ..ops forgot Im shooting with the Nikon Z6.
I just purchased the z6 and have this lens but getting an error message :/ did you have to do an update on the lens if so recommend the gear to do update. Appreciate any help you willing to share to get mine working!! :)
you need to buy the Tamron Tap-in console for Nikon. Here's the link to amazon amzn.to/3m9XxlV. You plug your lens to this little thing then plug that to the computer and update the firmware. Google your lens name and firmware update to get the firmware update. Then it'll work super well. Even after a year you would think they would update their lens without then release it but they are making us buy this Tap in console. I'm sure it's their marketing strategy to make some more money. You must've freaked out when you keep seeing the error message.

You have all those lens? Awesome! Do you think it's worth getting the 45mm if you already have the 35mm? I keep stopping myself from getting it since it's so close to each other. Does it feel like a 50mm lens?
@@CameraToFreedom the 45mm 1.8 as you know has VC (great for video)... the difference is no more than 1-3 feet... I don't pair these lenes together. They do have a big focus breathing issue compared to the Nikon lenses. I’m sure that’s one of the main reason why Nikon lenses are more expensive since it has way better focus breathing.
@@CameraToFreedom it work fantastic on z6 when it comes to photos..but for video I'm not sure...as a wedding photographer. We can't use manual mode every time. Do u use G2 lens for weddings... especially video...how good it works on auto focus?

Fairshake Media yeah that’s one big sadness of the z6. You need their z lenses for the quieter focus motor. Every single lens using used with the FTZ makes a loud grinding noise when focusing. Luckily I use external recorder for my audio or manual focus.
Saying the 24-70mm should be the first lens people buy is a matter of opinion not fact like you're portraying it to be. Sorry but i'm right, plus if someone is paying you for video recording them and it's your business your job so to speak in my opinion a gimble is what you need. Yes the Nikon Z6 does have goo stabilization but if I was going to be charging people money to video them i'd want to buy a gimble so that the video is as close to being completely stable and unintentional movement free as possible. It's more kit to carry around but when it comes to doing weddings being your job reputation is everything and a gimble would get you the reputation of being able to record nearly completely stable video even when walking and following subjects.
I totally agree. It is my opinion and any lens is actually good since it’s really about the person. You can get good video with even with the cheapest lens. Gimbal is important for sure. I love them and have used them with every gig that I have. Even have a DJI RS 2 review being the best gimbal for my opinion. Thanks for the comment though :)
@@Jake-vr6if Try a Neewer one on Amazon they're cheap I used to have one and it was great, cheap and lasted to the day I sold it after two years of use.
Noise comes from the camera. I have some cameras that’s horrible last 1600 ISO but my nikon Z6 is amazing up to 5000 ISO. Autofocus is tricky. If the subject is in visible lit area then autofocus can be ok, not great. Sony has the best autofocus right now but I still can rely on my Nikons autofocus to get the job done.
It’s never perfect. If you’re in an area with bunch of trees then it’ll have a little problem finding the person you want focused. That’s when it’s time to go manual focus or point focus.
Yup! Cheap if that’s all you can afford but with a cost! If you got the money get all Nikon S lenses so you don’t hear that grinding gears. Making another video for the actual no cost limit best lens video :)

Ooh now you got me curious about your sigma 105mm!
I have paired Ta,mron 24-70 f/2.8 G2 on my Z6. love the combo. amazing IQ. sharper then the i1st party fmount 24-70
I agree! Tamron is doing an awesome job hooking us up with dope lenses!
Nikon z 20mm 1.8 is good for video? Just asking because the lens doesn't have image stabilization
Thanks Gwen!
freagin great video .... that tip on in camera stabilization 🔥
This is an old video but I really appreciate it! Bottom line any lens is great for videography and Nikon but it’s god to save money a bit ;)
How well does the sigma 24-35 f2 autofocus work on video? Thanks in advance for the answer
@@fotonoticiero It works well!
This was such a helpful and informative video. Thank you Myong!
Thanks Chuy for that compliment! :)
You're not being cheap. You're being cost-effective.
Had the Tamron G2. Z6 came with the 24-70F4. Sharper. Lightweight. Have not bothered to get the 2.8S.

Thanks for this💯 How is the autofocus with 3rd party lenses?
Thank you, Myong. This video is very informative and convincing. I’m in.

Greetings Sir, wonderful video - subbed. Do you keep in-camera VR on while using Tamron's VC?
I use the in-camera VR when I stand in one place but if I know I'm going to move around then I turn off the in camera VR (Electronic Stabilizer). Thanks Sifat for subscribing. Let me know what's a good topic for Nikon tutorial you want to see.
@@CameraToFreedom The Nikon Z6 uses an in-body image stabilization on the sensor with a 3-axis system and not electronic which is an option that no one use because of the issues you are talking about. This is precisely one of the strong points of the Nikon Z.
And this why the Z lens do not need VR.
@@pascalmoraiz3824 Yes, this is more specific.
Thanks for your advise it help me. Alot. God bless you!
I’m so glad! :)
Starting lens which has VR 18-140mm DX. Walmart price is $255.00. Best MF AIS 105mm and 180mm
What's the name and where. Can I get the adapter your using to month your screen on the z6.. thank you
Here’s a quality monitor mount adapter: amzn.to/45urPXJ
I have existing g2 lenses like 2470g2 70200g2 and planning to get z6ii with ftz i hope this works well on my videos production.
I use all my G2 lenses all the time with my Z. Be sure your lenses are firmware’s updated with the Tap-in console and it will work perfectly, exactly the way way it did with your nikon dslr. If it’s not updated, the lenses will not work.
@@CameraToFreedom thank you myong. This is the only video here in yt that i saw using 24-70 on video. Its really hard to find one.
I love that lens and feel confident in using that lens for your videos! Great lens and works well with my Nikon Z camera!
U should have each lens marked through video when your talking about them so we know which one your talking about
Good idea!
@@CameraToFreedom Thx!
@@CameraToFreedom Yes, it's what I am working on...the tap console will arrive next week.
@@MrSayRogerany news?
Love your video, thx. Is it necessary to set your VC lens on with IBIS on or both off. One on and one off doens't work?
When you have a Tamron lens with VC on your z camera, it cancels out Nikon’s IBIS. The option you’re talking about is the Electronic stabilization and it acts as an extra stabilization of a ‘tripod mode’ extra steady. It’s great to hold it still but not good if you are moving your camera around since that creates a warping image since the camera tries to stabilize still. Leave the Tamron VC on and turn off the Electronic Stabilization EV off unless you are trying to get that tripod like shot.
Great content, what would you recommend for talking head, youtube style videos?
My latest RUclips videos have been my 35mm f1.8 so I can get some nice blurry bokeh. Otherwise it’ll be the 24-70 f2.8 lens since it can get wide enough for a self style shooting! You make RUclips videos?
@@CameraToFreedom thanks man. Yeah I have a quiz and brainteaser channel. Check it out if you like that sorta thing. I’m looking to get the Nikon Z6iii when it comes out. Do you prefer the prime or is the zoom more your fav? For the prime do you have to be pretty close to the lens?

@@CameraToFreedom ah appreciated man, thanks
Hey Myong, are the tamrons silent when auto focusing in videos? Dou you get that smooth transition from out focus to focus?
Thank you for your time,
Definitely! My nikon z6 to me has the truest color. Plus the full frame with a prime lens makes the background super blurry for that cinematic look!
@@CameraToFreedom what do you thing about the nikon z 20mm 1.8 for video , just asking because the lens doesn't have image stabilization?
Have you used an ultra wide zoom in the Z6? Mainly for real estate video.
Yes I do full time real estate photos and video during weekdays. Being as cheap as I am I use the apsc crop sea to 10mm wide lens and it’s great! I highly recommend the z6 for real estate stuff!

Yes there’s a gear grinding noise when it’s focusing. Some lens more then others.
Just wondering how is the autofocus on tamrons? Or are you just shooting manual? Thanks
The autofocus is perfect or at least what you can expect the lenses to do.
Thank for the video brother ..
Thanks man for the nice words! Feels good when someone gets a little info they need out of it!
how smooth is the autofocus pull in video? Ive heard that it just focus abrubtly when using third party lenses like sigma and tamron
Yes you do lose AF speed with the Tamron lenses so if you need slower focus transition is just go manual focusing.

Even after a year you would think they would update their lens without then release it but they are making us buy this Tap in console. I'm sure it's their marketing strategy to make some more money. You must've freaked out when you keep seeing the error message.
@@CameraToFreedom thanks much, I purchased it the other day along with the tamron 15-30 2.8 and 70-100 for my Z6. I'm in loveeee thanks so much for your help and the great video!.
Nicole Mae awesome combination of lenses! Glad I can help 👍🏽
Tamron 45mm 1.8 VC
Tamron 35mm 1.8 VC
Tamron 35mm 1.4 (BEST EVER)
You have all those lens? Awesome! Do you think it's worth getting the 45mm if you already have the 35mm? I keep stopping myself from getting it since it's so close to each other. Does it feel like a 50mm lens?
@@CameraToFreedom the 45mm 1.8 as you know has VC (great for video)... the difference is no more than 1-3 feet...
I don't pair these lenes together. I only shoot primes so my lineup is as follows
Nikon 20mm 1.8G
Tamron 35mm 1.5
Tamron 45 1.8 VC
Nikon 85mm 1.8G
Tokina 100mm 2.8 Macro
Nikon 180mm 2.8 ED
my shooting combinations never include the 35/45 at the same time. If I'm shooting video the 45mm is more likely I'm my bag.
For the work I do, I think it's more than worth it. My lenes are wider/longer, sharper/faster than the 24-70mm 2.8 and I'm not the creative than zooms in and out all over the place.
How well does the autofocus of the tamron 45mm 1.8 work in video of the z6? Thanks in advance for the answer
@@fotonoticiero on my Z6 it seems really sluggish ( could be my settings)... I have the native 50mm 1.8s so the 45mm is primarily on my D850 and it's flawless...
tired the 50mm 1.8G on with the ftz and has the nonstop refocusing while doing video .. camera Settings Full Autofocus
Have you tried updating the nikon camera firmware?
Does Z7 with these lenses , have autofocus or do i have to focus with my hand the whole time?
Z7 has autofocus with these lens also.
What flash will u recommend for the z6 , I just got a new one
I have and highly recommend this flash amzn.to/3vQdz8N great price, bright, can shoot high speed sync. If you don’t know what that is then you should definitely learn it. I’m gonna make a tutorial. Idea on that soon. This bundle comes with a remote so you can do strobe photography. Rechargeable lithium battery which is so much better the AA lithium batteries. Still cheaper then the branded flash.
bro i have nikon d3200 i want to start youtube on electronics i need lens long zoom with less focous distance i have a overhead stand it must focous minimum distance and high zoom
You’ll have a better chance of making your RUclips video with your iphone then the d3200. D3200 is great for photos but don’t shoot videos with it.
How quiet is the autofocus motor, do you here it in the video
If you make your audio louder you can hear it. Its as loud as your thumb sliding on your index finger.
Where did you order that HDMI cord for your ninja? I can't find them under 3ft

I have both G2 lens but my concern is how about the auto focus while shooting video, is it good? or is their any focus breathing issue. ?
They do have a big focus breathing issue compared to the Nikon lenses. I’m sure that’s one of the main reason why Nikon lenses are more expensive since it has way better focus breathing.
The auto focus from the G2 lens is really good and feels better on my z6 then when it was on my d750!
@@CameraToFreedom it work fantastic on z6 when it comes to photos..but for video I'm not sure...as a wedding photographer. We can't use manual mode every time. Do u use G2 lens for weddings... especially video...how good it works on auto focus?
@@CameraToFreedom thanks for Ur time..
how about the autofocus on the tamron lens with the ftz?
As long as your Tamron lens is updated with its tap-in console then it works perfectly!
Bro, did u test the lumix S5?
Waiting for review
S5 sounds so enticing! I even want their S1 also but then I have to buy all the new expensive lens to match it 😩 I’m not rich yet! One of this days I’ll have plenty of subscribers and then I can take this RUclips video to the next level and get all the cool gears! Goals!
My 70-200 is so damn loud and it’s VRii unusable unless you’re putting audio
Over the video
Please recommend a flash for my z6
@@Jake-vr6if Try a Neewer one on Amazon they're cheap I used to have one and it was great, cheap and lasted to the day I sold it after two years of use.
Tamron VC is very noisy for video. Always hunting for focus.
Noise comes from the camera. I have some cameras that’s horrible last 1600 ISO but my nikon Z6 is amazing up to 5000 ISO. Autofocus is tricky. If the subject is in visible lit area then autofocus can be ok, not great. Sony has the best autofocus right now but I still can rely on my Nikons autofocus to get the job done.
how about sigma 70-200 art lens?
Ooh I love that lens too! Especially all brand with 70-200 f2.8. My favorite lens!
same lenses I have Tamron.
I still love my Tamron’s lenses. :)
Does Sigma AF 20mm 1.4 works with nikon z6?
Yes it does.
@@CameraToFreedom with adapter or with not?
With the ftz adapter. I don’t think sigma came out with any z lenses yet.
Is there any hunting problem during shoot video
It’s never perfect. If you’re in an area with bunch of trees then it’ll have a little problem finding the person you want focused. That’s when it’s time to go manual focus or point focus.
@@CameraToFreedom thanks myong can u make a video for live demonstrate
Links for lenses
Thanks for asking Justin! Here’s Amazon link to the lens: amzn.to/3O8IicN
Also here’s a link to a 35mm lens for z mount that is super affordable but just as great! I use 35mm a lot for my filming amzn.to/3NM4xEi
Being cheap is fine, until that non native lens starts making loud noise focusing and ruins your video
Yup! Cheap if that’s all you can afford but with a cost! If you got the money get all Nikon S lenses so you don’t hear that grinding gears. Making another video for the actual no cost limit best lens video :)
Thank you
when you use FTZ adapter, there is that crop factor, no longer full frame ... whats the point buying dope mirrorless camera to use shitty lenses.
That is not true. I have FTZ adapter with g lenses and even have S nikon z lenses to compare and there is no crop factor with the ftz adapter.
@@CameraToFreedom Not familiar with g lenses, but using F mount with the adapter has a crop factor
Do you feel the 24-70 is too much crop when shooting in 4k 60fps? I know there is a 1.5 crop making the 24 nearly a 36mm. I was kind of bummed about that
Yeah me too! That crop is a bummer for sure! A lot of the cameras do that when you go 4K 60fps. Bummer :/
@@CameraToFreedom i love the 24-70 2.8 but sometimes I just need it a ittle wider for 60fps the 14-24 f2.8z, have you tried that lens yet?
