- Despite the ‘Road’ and ‘Ocean’ not necessarily being compatible worlds, the Ball Roadmaster Ocean Explorer is an incredibly cohesive watch with impressive features. Few brands can blend classical sophistication and modern ingenuity as well as Ball can, and they also understand the need mechanical watch lovers have for analogue interactions. Whether you have a need to know the tide or not, this watch is ready with utility and style in spades.

Appears to be an actual tool watch. Why does Ball not get more attention? They seem to make a great product.
Day by day, they do get more of a foothold in poeples attentiaon spans. They certainly have for me.
why doesnt this brand receive more attention. They look functional and luxurious
Nothing says Ocean Explorer like Roadmaster.
Hahahahaha I know that does actually beg the question huh.
Have not considered BALL, but I won't have real use for the tide indicator
"nice watch.. what is it?"
"Oh its the balls explorer..."
*Silence,*
Info for everyone: if you want to see all (or most) of the comments then you'll need change from the default viewing setting of "Top comments" to "Newest first".
PC users can do that with the "Sort by" button just above the comments.
iPhone and iPad users can do that at the top of the comments directly from the "Top" or "Newest" buttons by pressing on "Newest"
Awesome tip. I also use that feature literally every day. I love seeing the newest comments
Cool watch. If I was still actively diving, O would have to have this one!
Have to admit...this one gets the juices flowing 😅
Im super impressed with that complication. If you were a surfer or fisherman. This is super analogue coolness on thee wrist
I did enjoy this very much. I watched it twice.
Even caught my wife’s attention and Andrew was nowhere to be seen…🤷♂️
This watch really sparked an interest, which has been lacking for me lately, things were getting mundane so to speak. I have the Ball Caring Edition, I think having two Balls would make me whole.
Now that is interresting. Im def concidering a Ball for my collection. This is the second batch of Balls that I have shot for Time and Tide. And each time Im really impressed with thier build quality. sensational for thier price point. Glad you liked the vid. Had fun making this one.
@@marcusflack1523 That’s great, really clear and vivid shots and loved the intro. Yeah just something a little different this one.
@@dingodave3966 glad it hit the spot. I shall keep reaching creatively.
Not everyone gets to say they have something in common with Hitler. 😆
It's very refreshing dipping Balls in water. Often breathtaking.
With shrinkage (of the case height)
Amazing watch. Historic brand. Terrible name.
This def had room to come up with a more complication specific model name for sure.
The brand has been sold to the Chinese, so you decide how "historic" it is now.
@@pistonburner6448 Im fine with that.
@@marcusflack1523 Then you support evil, crime, inhumane treatment of people, mass-espionage and theft of intellectual rights and the preparation for the invasion of a sovereign nation. I hope you sold your soul for a price you're happy with.
@@pistonburner6448 Most people have no problem with Zenith’s integration into the LVMH group, or omegas under the swatch group. Brands change management frequently, and some are even completely revived, such as Vulcan. The fact that their management and ownership changes can radically change a brand’s ideals and image, however the history of a brand can never be impacted by current changes. Timex will never become any less historic no matter how cheap their watches become.
Nice Chinese watch, bruh...
nothing worng with that
@@marcusflack1523 Yes, there is. It is an evil regime, supporting that makes you an accessory.
Nope. They are Swiss. I went to their headquarters.
@@bigmacdaddy1234 Nope, they are Chinese for 100% certain. Company registration records do not lie.
If you went to their HQ in Switzerland then please tell me: who is the CEO? How many employees of theirs did you see? Why can't I find any evidence of a single manager of theirs in Switzerland, or any photos, anything of actual production there?
I wonder if the tides are pinned to 12 hours or correctly at 13 hour changes. Either way i need 2 of these watches 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆.
There is a lot to like… but it seems to sweat the details.
I like this brand a lot. The functionality of this watch is useless to me but I do like how it looks. I think they deliver very very well made watches for a very reasonable price. The only thing I’m not keen on is the counterweight on the seconds hand. It’s over elaborate and distracting. Just my taste. Lovely feature nice one lads
That counterweight is the signature of all tiger watches. Hmmm. Hope it’s not a dealbreaker.
Ball watches are incredible for their money ..top quality All the way ..the clasps are like bank volts .
Totally agree. The quality is right up there for me like an oyster bracelet. Dont know how they get the build quality this high for the moeny. Its awesome!
@@marcusflack1523 Obviously they do it by cracking the whip and not paying decent wages in the country where they really manufacture the watch...
Looks beautiful love ball on my wish list 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻love the Green 😅
Yes I would have loved to have been able to shoot the green dial as well. Alas there could be only one.
To bad this won’t work on the tides where I live
I believe they have a southern hemisphere version you can also order.
@@marcusflack1523 I live on the Gulf of Mexico where our tides are wildly different than anyone’s else’s. We have anywhere from 2 to 4 tides a day and they can vary greatly from day to day. If you look at the Atlantic coast they are identical everyday.
@@floridaman727 holy moly. Wow. I did not know that. Shame it won’t work for you. Does that mean digital tide watches are also no use to you?
@@marcusflack1523 don’t work either. My brother has one and it’s worthless. If you’re ever curious checkout what the tides look like around Clearwater. They look so weird and only get weirder.
That, is seriously cool, but the date window and cyclops ruin it for me, they make a busy watch too busy.
It has so much going on that’s for sure. But it could potentially stand up as a one watch collection because of it. If you were a surfer or fisherman.
Can anyone explain how the tide bezel actually works? Can see the mechanics from the video, but not clear on how you would use the bezel.
Rotate counterclockwise to match day-of-the-week to high-tide time (say today is Monday and high tide is 1:30, then align Monday to 1:30). Then rotate clockwise to set High-tide to 1:30. Tomorrow, rotate clockwise to align high-tide to Tue. This way, it accounts for the fact that tide is 50 mins later the next day. Simple trick to track tide charts for about two weeks.
@@ZD-qz3th ZD - Thanksa you so much for that explanation. You are a Time+Tide super legend. Love it when you can really learn from the comments.
Ball are worthy of more success and attention.
I gotta agree with you on that one. For the money the build quality is just so solid.
Beautiful watch
Great Engineering as usual by ball, im a great fan of the brand
Crazy awesome build quality for sure
You're a fan of a 🇨🇳 brand??
@@pistonburner6448 Owned by HK company situated in La Chaux de fonds and sourcing parts from CN, and yes im loving my engineer ii. get with the times kid
@@pilotstyle123 It is 🇨🇳. That's what HK is. The "company" is not situated in Switzerland, it is situated in 🇨🇳. They also maybe rent some property in Switzerland, but what they do there is anyone's guess. Ball Watch Company actively tries to hide their true identity. They have *_no_* information about *_any_* Western/Swiss employees, no pictures or any data on any production in Switzerland. Let's be real: we all know what's really going on...
@@pistonburner6448 Do you own an iphone or android?
most underrated brand?
I gotta agree with you there.
Completely ruined by the magnifying glass.
completely is a stong way to describe it.
With only 100m of WR, it should be called the Desk Explorer!😂
interresting huh.
How many people, even serious divers go below 30 m?
with these specific set of complications I would consider this more of a fishing/surfing/sailing watch for which 100m should be sufficient 🤷♂
Since it's a 🇨🇳 company's watch, all internationally operating 🇨🇳 companies are tied in with their military (mandatory), and their military does massive-scale industrial espionage, maybe it should be called a "phishing watch"!
Maybe those agents sitting at their computers might spill some bubble tea on their watch...
I do like the Ball Watch Co. a lot.
But they're for the really really manly type with canons as arms/wrists.
They're chunky watches and the bracelet with male endlinks make it virtually impossible for normal/smaller sized wrists to wear gracefully.
Had to let go of my limited to 91 pcs '00RED' edition because of it. Trully awesome dial, but the bracelet and wearability was a big letdown.
