I’m happy to see hillbilly have a nice long run at being on camera and explaining himself as he works. I think he is growing by leaps and bounds! Awesome work hillbilly!!
I was going to say the same thing. He is becoming more at ease on camera. Yeah he deserves a Harley especially after all the wheel polishing he's done on Ed's bike and will be doing on these others. Let alone the other stuff.
Robby, when you're away "Hillbilly" does NOT play around! Very efficient and talkative behind the GoPro and one great worker. What a great side guy! He & "Dinner" are great dudes!!!
Tool tip; to go from Metric to SAE or vice versa use the number “5” and the SAE size will be in “1/16’s”. Example= 13mm minus 5 equals 8/16” or 1/2”. Reverse; 9/16” plus 5 equals 14mm. Works for most sizes we use daily.
Met Mr Layton at Cleetus and Cars in Bristol TN. Seems very humble and relatable! I got a big kick out of watching Robby observe Vice Grip Garage spraying his Crown Vic with spray paint! Robby you should’ve had an intervention!
I really like having Hillbilly on camera he is very knowledgeable when it comes to tearing things down he explains each step so you can learn from him as he is doing it. I am definitely looking forward to see the slow roller gang coming together all we need is a Rokon for Paul since he should be included in the gang. Keep up the great work everyone
Hi everyone that’s part of the Robby Layton Nation, I’m from England and don’t have any car body repair experience but if I was lucky enough to live near your shop, I would do everything I could to get you to let me work with you all, You are all the best of people and the work you do is always amazing, thanks for showing how awesome you all are.
Hey Slow Roller ! Want to be ahead of the pack? Double spring points. All cylinder ports; with a brake cylinder Home Stone, radius port openings. Another simple to do is match intake port to cylinder. Do same for exhaust port. Look inside Castings / make all smooth - good air flow runs Great ! Love your Videos
Robbie your a good man always helping people i hope you have a blessed life you and the team hillbilly diner your wife your kids are awesome keep up great content POWER TO THE NATION
10:29 right through to 11:13 Just love this unscripted banter (yes I realize the channel is not scripted, but could not think of a better term) ... this is what makes Robbie's Channel so great! .
If you guys have a Tandy Leather store near by. Take the mud flap in, they can help you select the correct material, a punch, and a set for installing snaps and some dye and sealer. Recreating that should be super simple, trace it out onto some cardboard, cut a pattern out and then transfer onto the leater, cut punch, finish, install snaps. I picked up leater crafting as a hobby and have done a few projects, if I can make a decent pouch with saddle stitching you can cut out a simple shape and punch some holes I am sure
I remember seeing advertisements for the Rokon's in magazines when I was a kid, a picture of a guy standing on it with an oar in hand when it was on its side floating him across a body of water, they're very unique bikes.
Thanks for another Rokon tear down video. I just got one and know it will need a new steering head bushing. It looks like I will need to take quite a bit apart to get to it. 🤔
I just wanna say the vibes you guys give off is amazing when I'm having a bad day I sit back smoke a bowl and watch your videos and I have ptsd between you guys Matt and fab rats you guys are all great people wish I could chill for with you all for the day it would be sick
Notice @Robby Layton you didn't say anything about fixing the 1969 Rokon at 300,000 subscribers? 😜😂 Or did you? Respectfully I am A 64 yr old GODLY Lady who couldn't do what you do? So if it's an as is Rokon. That wouldn't work for me. My suggestion would be given to Aiden? With the Truck Reveal . A safe Rokon . Imho .
Good job tearing down the Rokon!! I thought for a while that Hillbilly was going to have it all done before Robby got back. Glad to see you getting started on YOUR Rokon Robby!! The "Slow Roller Gang" is growing!! 😁
If you'll use clear silicone sealant on your beads when installing any tires on any rims, It will make them go on super easy, come off super easy (no rust or corrosion between tire and wheel, ever), and you'll never have a leaky bead seal, even in the winter.
You should build some lugs around where the frame joins together. Those should really have a lugged frame - surprising it doesn't. It won't crack so much from the off-road abuse it takes. Stiffen up the forks too.
Count your blessings that you have Hillbilly, he truly puts in 100 percent on every job given to him. Plus he appears to enjoy his job and working for you and the Boss. The Boss does a good job of keeping the three ( Robby, Hillbilly, and Dinner) of you inline. Robby does She require that you bow and kiss her feet when you get home? Oh well you are lucky to have her to keep you inline. Keep the Rocon's moving so we may have a video of Rocon Day, when they all rally together. Stay safe.
Watching you in Bristol in your next video. While at Bristol you may see VGG 's Derek, or some of the other UTubers. I saw video on SleeperDude already and he was drooling over Derek. I would prefer to watch all of the Utah crews before the southeast guys. Much more talent and much better looking, and content above them all. Plus I haven't seen them doing anything for other people. Not at all like you guys! Be safe and travel with care...
14:45 .. LOVE the motor bike / recon lift!! ... We do not have Harbour freight in Canada ... but we have it's canadian Cousin "Princess Automotive" much the same :) ... (except an AWESOME SURPLUS section and mail order since the 1980's).. you'd guys love it! :)
Y'all are getting better at taking these things apart and rebuilding them. Watch out you will have a new repair business fixing more of the old Rokons lol. Hillbilly is quick fast and in a hurry with taking it apart. I think Hillbilly is a natural in front of a camera. Keep em coming and I like the content as ALWAYS.
Guessing these Rokons were built tough & so no one did much to them except patch them up. Now you're tearing them down totally all the worn out stuff & patch ups show up. Hillbilly doing a great job of tearing it down with commentary.
Watching you use that ratchet the whole time was driving me crazy, lol. I'd have the dewalt impact gun and my special sockets for worn bolts, lol Ded that was on backwards. The countersink is for better torque grip on the rim.
Has @Rokon2x2 reached out? I never knew about Rokon until Ed and Robbie. Would be great to see someone from the company come visit with some parts and to talk about these models you are working on and company history.
I have a 1967 Rokon just like that, would be fun to pull it out of the barn and fix it up like yall are doing!!! Bought it from the Rokon founder Orla Larsen 28 years ago. Awesome to see you fixing your up. My is just covered and forgotten.
Thanks Robby for the "NO STRINGS ATTATCHED GIVEAWAY" comment. Your friends on other channels (won't mention any names) do not seem to realize what a GIVEAWAY really is. You have to purchase expensive products to even get registered to win ! Sometimes they forget how their Followers and Subscribers made them rich to start with. Sometimes the Greed overtakes the appreciation. Love your videos man*****You guys keep up the great work*****Good Times from Tennessee
Robby & 'The Boss' & Crew...Rokon's are cool and you guys are making them cooler. Rock on with the Rokon's. (Did you get your factory tow hitch/bumper that Ed gave you out of the front trailer compartment to put it with the rest of the frame for "body work" and paint prep?) ;)
Trick for taking off kickstand springs: pull the kickstand halfway down so the spring is extended, then stick washers or coins in all the open coils. Then put the kickstand back up and the washers will keep the spring extended enough to remove.
Robbie you are wanting to put a side car on it make the rear axle go all the way thru and make it 3 wheel drive just like the russian motorcycle ural they offer a 3 wheel drive model
Enjoy your channel and projects. I am a Purple Heart Vietnam Veteran so I am old! I only buy pocket t-shirts and it seems you do not have one at this time. Please consider us old guys need a place for our phones and glasses.😀
You guys are awesome! 🤞🏼count this as an entry to be a part of the slow rollers! Hah. I’ll be swing through on my way to and from CO with my Van. Getting a pop top put on, Woohoo! A Rokon would make a great addition to the adventure van.
I don't know if you have heard of Cledus McFarland, he has a channel also, he is looking for a frame guy to straighten out the rear frame on a Crown Vic. The downfall is he is in Bradenton, FL.
Hey Robby😄! Just a thought - Of course you could “Bedazzle” the Rokon. Or if you wanted to decorate it in a way that is more to the period this was made, “Macaroni Art” might be more fitting to that era? Pro-tip, may want to use gorilla glue though instead of the standard white Elmers glue😁.
I’m happy to see hillbilly have a nice long run at being on camera and explaining himself as he works. I think he is growing by leaps and bounds! Awesome work hillbilly!!
He deserves a Harley for sure.

Need more of hillbilly and BIG DINNER...!!!!
You go hill Billy

Thanks that's useful information.
TY
Mind blown! I just memorized them for the most part but this is awesome info. 👌
It only works with 13 and 14mm. Unless I am doing it wrong.
Thanks for the tip!!

I love to tinker & enjoy watching your family friendly videos! Thank you for keeping educational and fun!
Among the first, Dinner and Hillbilly should have their own rokon too 🙂🙂🙂

You guys r getting good at tearing down rokons keep up the great video
Mentioning cracks....in small engine class we learned to use magnets and metal shavings to find hidden cracks in metal parts.
I remember seeing advertisements for the Rokon's in magazines when I was a kid, a picture of a guy standing on it with an oar in hand when it was on its side floating him across a body of water, they're very unique bikes.
I love what your shop does out of kindness and your channel is fun to boot. 09:56 I see a Roscoe Plowboy. Thanks.

I would say its the "bowl" that is producing the good vibes, just sayn! ;-)
A bowl? I smoke like 3 jibbahs
@@sledguy02 he'll yeah
@@radicalfilmz647 between, robby, fab rats, and Matt's off road I get pretty toasty
Respectfully what does smoke a bowl mean?
After watching you guys tear apart 3 of these, I feel like an expert. I might have to search for a Rokon for myself. Or hope to win your give-away! :D
Yeah, I wonder if there are Rokon owner out there who's going to reach out to Robby to fix up their bikes, lol...

Love watching Robby Layton Nation and the give away Rokon will be nice 👍 have a great day see you again Friday 👍👍😀😀
Robby is the best bodywork man in the country from what I’m seeing
Can't wait to see more videos soon on this project for the slow rollers.
Hill Billy and dinner have done a great job keeping the videos entertaining.
Found out about your channel through Bike and Beards. I love both channels so much. New subscriber.

Hello all from Siesta Key Florida
LOOKING GOOD EVERYONE!
As long as you are welding, how about a few gussets to strengthen those areas?
Coming along great ain't going to take long to finish this one, all the best to yous and your loved ones
You guys are awesome. Robby you and your team work so well together . Keep up the great content
Robby, you should restore a Rokon for Brent from Ghost Town Living!! He definitely needs one!!!
You guys could be a Rokon rebuild shop! I wonder how many are out there. There`s some in New England for sure.
He’s like a blister. Shows up after all the works done!! Good job hillbilly!

I would absolutely love to have a rokon I’ve always road dirt bikes a rokon seems so cool who ever wins the giveaway will be so blessed to win one!!!
Use a fabric cutting board as a back drop for your Leather mud flap. It will show measurements and shape.

Wow, you guys are awesome! I always wanted one of these as a teen and young adult but in our area they was non existent.
Great content guys!! I live watching every episode! You guys are all awesome !
Oh you’re gonna learn Rokon for sure!
Great video and great job with the rokon and God bless from GA stay safe
Hillbilly needs to get his own channel! He do good! Great show Hillbilly!
great videos , big thanksto everyone, Edd in UK
Déjà vu on them breaks hill Billy!!!
Make a sidecar with the extra Rocon, not as many bad parts on this one, great video thank's for sharing God bless ❤😉👍
Great content watch y’all’s clips all the time
Hillbilly NEEDS A HARLEY . Great work Hillbilly on the rocon
What we used to do is soak the chains in hot 90 weight oil overnight. That gives the chain a good coating of lube.
Y'all are getting better at taking these things apart and rebuilding them. Watch out you will have a new repair business fixing more of the old Rokons lol.

Ded that was on backwards. The countersink is for better torque grip on the rim.
You guys are going to be rokon experts.
Funny that the Rokon Trend started with Ed's Suzuki Restoration, and now you find a Yellow Rokon with a Suzuki seat 😁
300,000 give away would be cool also we still need a video of a side cart on a rokon lol
Has @Rokon2x2 reached out? I never knew about Rokon until Ed and Robbie. Would be great to see someone from the company come visit with some parts and to talk about these models you are working on and company history.

That Rokon would be great to haul my elk out this fall.

Hillbilly is becoming a star on his own.
It's going to look amazing when it's done.
Thanks for the video, always enjoy watching!
Goodmorning and thank you Robby and crew.
Robby probably left because he's tired of tearing these bikes down. Smart man!
Yes it needs a Dynamite box/rack on the front like Ed's
As for the mud gard can you get some conveyor belt and make one for Eds
The music reminds me of a 1970s detective series....
Hey you boys got a great idea, a catamaran rocon!

You guys are going to be the world authority on restoring Rokons.
Where do you get new tires for the Rokons? Tractor supply? Where do you find new parts? Great work again!
There should be a weekly segment “Bronco Build with Hillbilly” so Hillbilly can work on his Bronco and people can donate to the cause.
Trick for taking off kickstand springs: pull the kickstand halfway down so the spring is extended, then stick washers or coins in all the open coils. Then put the kickstand back up and the washers will keep the spring extended enough to remove.
HillBilly GOOD JOB!
Robby You make a great show cant wait to see the bike up and running Barry N Z
That old seat is hilarious!
At this point everybody's gonna come to you to get their rokon redone. Because you guys are experts at doing those.
3 wheel drive, have side cart drive wheel.

I remember seeing the ads for these bikes in magazines.
Hay about the rokon and the slow rollers , what about Paul at Fab rats ? does he what one or have one for the gang ?
A local sheet metal shop can make you new rear fenders fast. I was a SMW for 40 years and the fender would be no big deal.
You guys are turning into the Rokon experts. You should apply to Rokon and get a certified license repair shop certificate from them ...lol
At least this Rokon appears to have a transmission advantage over the last one you guys got... Advantage in the coming 'Slow Roller Games'!!
You guys are awesome! 🤞🏼count this as an entry to be a part of the slow rollers! Hah. I’ll be swing through on my way to and from CO with my Van. Getting a pop top put on, Woohoo! A Rokon would make a great addition to the adventure van.
You should build one of the Rokons' for Ayden. Just a thought. God bless and stay well.
I like Hillbilly's idea to use this bike to make the side car and to use the other parts you need to fix the other bike, like that nice gas tank.
I don't know if you have heard of Cledus McFarland, he has a channel also, he is looking for a frame guy to straighten out the rear frame on a Crown Vic. The downfall is he is in Bradenton, FL.
