another interesting vid - thanks. I had some of these functions hacked together using, at various times, a Nokia 3310, a Particle Photon and a small dual relay board.... This is a lot neater and far more reliable I would think !

Hello, I would like to ask if you can see it on the wifi network? earlier than on the phone.Because my app can't find it and I've tried everything.

Not sure that polarity will make any difference given the switch is just a on when switched so doesn't actually have polarity :). I wouldn't say the side the writing is printed on is an indication of anything :). I can see some automations, like if you have external speakers the power to them can be turned on and off when the computer is turned on or off. For a gamer, there may be desk lighting like you suggested, but the main function I see for this, would be to force reboot if the machine froze or something similar. Or maybe turn off a computer on the kids at a set time.
Quite an interesting card and definitely worth looking at. I might have a look at one and see if it can be converted to local control via MQTT or something similar.
Questions: Is the card communicating WiFi, Bluetooth or Zigbee for the primary network connection? Does it have the ability to perform a force shutdown in the case the operating system freezes?

It uses wifi. It can perform a force reset not a force shutdown.

@@csongorvarga Thanks for that. Appreciate your quick response :)

@@EsotericArctos sure, you have some good automation ideas. I will add to my dad's computer so I can turn it on remotely if I need to administer it.

Sounds like this would be an ideal way hacker's could gain access to your pc at a low level. Pci express just for power????

Do you have to be on the same wifi network? Or can you do it remotely when you are out of the house? Thanks.

Yes it works remotely either when you are on mobile network (4G, 5G data), or on a different wifi network.

No. It is Tuya Smart application (starting screen in video and in Google Store screen for Tuya Smart application are same). And onboard of pci express has qr-code for this application.

Is PCI-E always powered as long as the power supply is on, even if the system is off? It not, wouldn't it mean that you can only use this to reset or power off, but not power on?

Well, this is how it worked for me. Maybe you need some bios settings, like how you can enable wake-on LAN as well.
