I really like this! There's been so much (understandable) criticism towards nostalgia, especially as it's increasingly packaged and sold to us, that we lose out on some of the ways it actually matters, and this essay touches on that perfectly.
Great video on nostalgia! I’ve heard of the benefits of nostalgia. Listening to an old favorite piece of music, or playing an old game can be relaxing and fun. But I do try and balance that out by playing new games, listening to new music, trying new technology, etc. I’ll admit I’m a sucker for nostalgic reboot and revivals of old movies, games, and such. But original ideas are good too.
Another banger, I've been having a great time working through your backlog of videos. You have a clear and distinct voice, not just literally but in the way that you convey your arguments and ideas.
Another possible argument would be how the craving for nostalgia made great games come about, for example all-new metroidvania. The only argument that I find unconvincing was the "nostalgia as affirmation", because everything you said can be found in new works. These aspects is not unique to nostalgia, it is more a feature of art itself. Great video.
Found you through the Elden Ring video, and just FYI I'm here for whatever. From what I've seen so far, I'll probably enjoy whatever you have to put out. I've had a similar experience with ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and I also use stuff that's nostalgic for me as a way to feel better and reconnect with myself. For my own tangent, I would recommend the game Vampire Survivors if you haven't played it already - I get the impression that you're the type of person who'd really enjoy it.

I'm trying to comment and like on every video that you've put out so far, because you are so f****** underrated, it's criminal.
I was here for your official semi-off topic tangent and can say officially that you are a RUclipsr now

Great video.
As always, an extraordinarily thoughtful video. Thank you.

I found this channel through your Elden Ring video, and this is some really good stuff. Absolute banger of a channel.
Everything you said in your aside about ADHD was tremendously familiar. We're not alone in this world.
Thanks!
