Joerg simply lights up my day. He's such a calm, obliging chap. He has an extremely unique personality but yet it reminds me of my step father who has passed away. It just makes me smile to watch his reactions and remember my step father. Joerg seems the salt of the earth, just a good honorable man.
Lol. Not insistent when he likes something; a bit stubborn when Kirsten likes something not quite to his liking, have yet to hear him give a flat out no, but I just started watching the antiquing videos. Delightful!
I used to paint the Toby jugs when they they were in production over 20 years ago . They were all made at the Beswick factory in Longton Stoke on trent .they were made over at least 50 years . Royal Doulton owned beswicks . All the Toby jugs were hand painted & were more expensive to buy back then . Now you can pick them up quite cheap especially around Stoke at local antique fairs .Also the Beatrix potter & Bunnykins were made at Beswicks as were the beswick animals . It was a big factory with lots of many departments making different things . It’s a shame now the factory was knocked down & is now a Matalan .Eventually Wedwoods took over Royal Doulton . The Wedgwood factory is a fabulous museum now & worth a visit so much to see xxxx
Oh wow, you painted the Toby jugs back then? That's amazing! There are such wonderful ones out there. Oh no, I must say we hate Matalan, we never set foot in there. I know, we visited the Wedgwood factory & museum a couple of years ago and also had afternoon tea there - I still had my blog then so we need to go back to film.
Joerg check out Warren and Wignall auctions in Leyland Lancashire. They have an online only auction at the moment and I’m sure I saw some Maritime paintings last night in the catalogue. It’s lot number 716 there’s two paintings I think! The auction starts at 10 am tomorrow morning. You can watch it online which is great fun even if you aren’t bidding. They have an upstairs and a downstairs auction so you need to check which number lots are downstairs or upstairs. They have some really beautiful furniture especially if you like Georgian and Victorian and there’s always loads of China and Crystal glass ware. I’ve never bid on anything yet I just enjoy looking at the catalogue each week and watching. Sometimes it’s heartbreaking seeing the low prices some of the beautiful furniture goes for but so many people would rather have flat pack modern stuff nowadays. Give me proper handcrafted solid wood furniture made with love any day…..after all something which has lasted for over 200 years and still looks amazing is surely a better investment than MDT or chipboard which doesn’t last five years ….if your lucky. Sadly another sign of our throwaway society.
Joerg & Kristen : this maybe a crazy ? in this month of May - did you gander round the Little Christmas Shop . I personally could get lost in there HAHA . Nice trip around town Thanks !!
What a lovely day out. Thank you for Shairing. The Beatrix Potter that you saw reminded me that my grandparents bought me the full box set of all the Beatrix Potter stories for my birthday when I turned three. I still have them on the shelf in my office. They are just beautiful!
I love how you got one thing that’s kind of more for Jörg, one thing that’s more for Kristin and one thing that’s for the both of you, the plates ✨😃 Well-balanced!
Aside from giving me the pleasure of your company, your videos make me feel that I'm discovering the UK on a relaxed, personal level that is truly delightful. I so enjoy these outings with you and I'm always waiting with bated breath to hear Joerg's verdict on the next sausage roll ;) Thank you!
Ein Lord Nelson ist schön. Gab es keinen Mr Darcy?😍. Währe auch nicht schlecht.👍. Einen schönen Tour. Ich liebe antique. Shops. So viele schöne Sachen.....Stay Safe😘
I've got the big blue dollshouse. My father made to lower storey floors to go with it. I made a garden too but it took up too much space and I had to remove it. As I told you before I make dollshouse furniture so if you get a dollshouse just let me know. Joerg sometimes seems serious, but I can see he has a cheeky sense of humour!! You always made me smile both of you!! xxx
I love antiques and I am so very lucky that my best friend is an expert in antiques and is a dealer, so I often go off to auctions and the like with her, and I learn so much from her and she has helped me find some lovely pieces for my home that’s Victorian styled 🌹🌺🌸❤️
Hi Kirsten & Joerg! so wonderful to see you both! What a beautiful town you took us to! The English Countryside is like a fairytale! I love your purchases. It is so fun to find pieces to match existing pieces you collect. It was meant to be. It like a giant puzzle adventure hunt! Thank you for you both and you look so smashing in those boots! Hugs xoxo
This is really fun, antiquing with you both. I love the older pieces, some are built so well and of course unique. It is very exciting to find pieces that match things you already have. Your plates are beautiful. It's a joy to watch you when you are having fun. thanks
I guess I was just in the mood for this video because I certainly enjoyed it ! But I did so want u to have that gorgeous floral fabric for 12.00. I love this entire video , thank u so much ..
How fun to go antique shopping with you. (Nicely filmed!) Yay, I was hoping you'd purchase the two plates and Nelson jug but you decided against the fabric? I love your crystal jam pot, I use my Waterford jam pot all the time. 💞Marvelous vlog, thank you! ((Hugs))
Thanks so much! As mentioned in the video, we didn't need fabric, just wanted to show that it was a real bargain but we didn't need it so it would have been a waste for us.
If you Want a maritime picture for the attic I think you would find it in place near the sea. I always admired doll houses specially the old genuine British ones. They are plenty of nice, amazing things in these antiques shops, some very kitch but funny to look at. I love these promenades in the English countryside. I’m impatient to see your attic.
Patience is a virtue. I must say Joerg is a very good shopper & husbund. I don't think mine will ever have patience for any of the antiques. Hahaha. I am so happy you showed that Iron bridge & I loved the houses around it too. Can you Imagine they build this bridge without any contemporary machine?
Never be afraid to ask what their best price is. Most antique dealers almost expect and many enjoy a good old haggle over prices. If they really want to make a sale they’ll always cut a deal even if it’s only 10% off. The fabric looks like it might have been Sanderson which is a good British make. If you want a larger antiques centre there’s a big one here in Preston in Lancashire. It’s called Preston Antique s Centre and it’s off New Hall Lane Preston in part of the old Horrockes Cotton Mill buildings. It’s one of the largest if not the largest Cotton Mills in Preston. I’ve not managed to get there yet but I’ve seen their website and it looks amazing.
Absolutely, we do that too, especially because I lived in Egypt with my parents as a teenager, I'm used to it lol. I tried to find out the brand of the fabric but couldn't see it, was definitely amazing quality. Thanks so much for the tips re Preston, sounds perfect!
I really enjoyed this sweet video ❤️. Iron Bridge Gorge is simply stunning and I loved seeing your antique purchases💕. Thank you so much for sharing your weekend adventures and stay safe and well 😘
I really enjoy when you go antique shopping. You are discerning buyers and only get you love and have a use for. I am pleased Joerg is delighted with his Nelson Toby mug. Patience will in time allow you to find the right picture for his office.

Such a nice trip. Love the music it is very fitting for the views of this little store and village. Think it is fun to start out like this and get your cottage together exactly as you would love it! It will mean so much more to you in the end, that you pick out each piece with love.

I have really missed going to our local antique mall in Florida during COVID or even just browsing at Goodwill, the charity shop. Or buying yarn in person rather than ordering online. We are all vaccinated in our family so we are going to venture north to Virginia and DC in a few weeks. It will be very strange driving for hours after being at home for months and months. During isolation we did redo our front garden, installing a little stone walk, seating area and plants that do well here in the heat and humidity. Azaleas are long finished blooming, begonias in the window boxes are looking very pink and showy, English ivy is peeking out between them. Daylilies are putting out flower stems so in a few weeks we will have yellow daylilies blooming. We have warm days of 85 (29.4 C) now but not too much humidity yet. Once that sets in it gets uncomfortable outdoors. Everyone rushes to get all their gardening done by the end of May and then everyone disappears into the AC indoors until end of October.

Joerg you must get Kirsten the doll house for Christmas! She loved it so much and I think there was a little hinting that it would make the most beautiful Christmas gift! I knew you were going to eat a pork hand pie, it looked delicious! 😊
It's good that you got matching ceramic ware, painted with birds. You have a penchant for picking lovely stuff and virtually taking us around. Enjoy Joerg's jovial nature.
My ancestors came to the US from the Iron Bridge area so I loved seeing what you filmed. Thanks for taking me along - it made me so happy to see the village & bridge!
Love your antique shops Kirsten and Jorge,,,you both such a lovely couple,,,oh,bliss to these little places, that you always find ,I want to go too,,,thankyou 💖 both once again for super video, such an escape from it all,,!!💖🍰 Ps, I wish there were antique tours,,!!!! Lol,I like Jorge,s meat pie, yummy 😋
Picturesque village and quaint antique shops...felt as if I just finished reading a fairy tale! And the doll house, looks like it was every little girl's dream, irrespective of which part of the world you're from!
I'm so happy you got the Royal Dalton jug and Spode Woodland plates! Jam jar too! I used to love antiquing and hopefully will again. My grandmother had several of the Royal Dalton pieces. I liked the teapot with pink flowers in the first shop! It's always so enjoyable to "accompany you" on your adventures. The meat pie looked delicious! 💗
Thank you for showing us around Ironbridge... with the birdsong and beautiful surroundings I felt like I was there... I can't wait to visit the UK again (I live in Australia - my husband is British and we have family and friends in UK)... your purchases were lovely... When I first started watching your channel I thought you were British Kirsten! I've been binge watching your videos in all sorts of order and to find out you're actually German! I couldn't believe it! not from your accent... I have a fondness for Germany... My Oma was German born but lived in Netherlands for most of her life... Take care

Thank you! Wonderful episode! Love the Toby Jug! I found one years ago. They have such personality! The bridge is fabulous and something I would love to see in person! This is my past time too! Take care! Have a lovely week!
Joerg you must get Kirsten the doll house for Christmas! She loved it so much and I think there was a little hinting that it would make the most beautiful Christmas gift! I knew you were going to eat a pork hand pie, it looked delicious! 😊
Aww lol, no that's fine, no hinting at all, just wanted to film it for you guys, don't want a dolls house lol.
So much better than going to a regular shop.
It's good that you got matching ceramic ware, painted with birds. You have a penchant for picking lovely stuff and virtually taking us around. Enjoy Joerg's jovial nature.
The old dishes are actually a better buy than the new( and more expensive!) ones that you get...! I always go for OLD!
My ancestors came to the US from the Iron Bridge area so I loved seeing what you filmed. Thanks for taking me along - it made me so happy to see the village & bridge!
How great to hear!
Such a fun choice of music today.
So happy you like it, thanks so much!
Can't wait to see the attic!!! How many more days/weeks will that be?!
Take care
Thank you so much Jeanette, Ironbridge is lovely and well worth a visit. Hope you can visit again soon.
