  • This is how I deleted the EGR on my lly duramax. It is definitely a challenge! If you’ve never done a job like this I would recommend taking it to a shop that can do the work for you. If you do decide to do it yourself just know it takes a lot of patience!!!

    I have a 2004 1/2 LLY. I changed the left exhaust manifold, they are pinched and restricted. Changed the turbo mouth piece with a AFE mouth piece the factory one is very restricted. Put on the Summit cold air intake changed the complete exhaust system with a flow master system and deleted the cat. EGR delete and put on better flowing up pipes and a free flow down pipe also installed larger turbo hot and cold pipes. The factory down pipe is very restricted. Rerouted the PCV system. Made a bunch more power and fuel mileage is way up empty 22.7 mpg towing over 20,000 lb. 12 to 14 in the mountains here in Colorado. I do not need a power programmer anymore.

    Just did this on my LBZ. It was a pain! The u bridge had to spend time in the freezer to even come close to fitting right. Now I have a boost leak I need to find. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ Good video!!

      delta3garcia I had the same problem with the y bridge, i found if you tighten the nuts that are deep in the valley first it will draw it down so it seals right.

    Looks like it doesnt have much for benefits over stock y bridge design. Get a pusher being it has a highly efficient 50/50 inlet design like youd see on a 2000hp custom intake of a turbo ls. Pusher design is literally the BEST out there.

    • @2tirefire79

      It wont blow o rings under boost.

    • @coltoncarpenter3790
      @coltoncarpenter3790 2 месяца назад

      @2tirefire79 less orings means less of a chance for oring failure. Also the actual bridge part that fits between the plenums is kinda box shaped so that'll cost a lil in the efficiency department. Flow air as efficiently and least restricted as possible results are always going to show better whether it's gas, diesel, 2stroke or 4stroke.

    Some helpful info for the project
    Most of those vids you see, are older models the, LMM have all kinds of
    stuff in the way.
    The coolant line in back to heater core is 5/8" ID and can be a Gates 18743 U formed
    The coolant line down there is 1/2" ID and a Gates 28460 is a formed 90 deg for about $9 on Amazon. I used 5/16' fuel line also but the sharp bends kinked the hose. So as a good recycler I found an aluminum pipe that was attached to something that fell off under the truck one day.
    It's a 5/16" OD pipe so a little pipe bender and trim to length and slide into hoses keep em from kinking
    Y bridge bolts are M6-1.0x25mm flange bolt. I always like to upgrade to
    Grade 8 when possible
    The Turbo is simpler with a 6 pt 17mm swivel/flex socket from a kit in stock at Autozone #62-850 $20ish.
    The Ybridge bolts are easier with a 1/4dr flex extension in a 2pc kit at Oreilly's

    • @duramaxfocused2112
      @duramaxfocused2112  3 года назад +1

      If you are doing the y bride that is exactly the part you need. Some people just put a blocker plate on the original but that can cause the pipe bellows to come apart. The original up pipe has a separate section that connects to the egr and if you are looking for an OEM part that’s not it

    What year LLY engine is this?
    The reason I ask is because they say the 2004.5 has the biggest turbo with the largest fins.
    It needs a bigger aftermarket mouth piece due to its massive size.
