Sigh. When we was good. I was 15 at the time of this game, and living in Maidenhead (175 miles away from Hillsborough) I was the only Wednesday fan in the school. The morning after this game was the one and only time I got envy from the zillions of Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs fans I went to school with!! This is just about as good as it ever got.
My ultimate 'wish I was there' Owls game. Was only 5 at the time and unfortunately missed out on those peak years. Absolute scenes when those goals were going in..
Drove up from HMS Mercury for this game with my pal Paul in his knackered Skoda. Took forever as the bloody thing wouldn’t go over 50! Recall the away end was like a building site as they were redeveloping that end. Everyone recalls the guy with crutches waving them around by goal number 3! Best 20 minutes of football I’ve ever seen.
+Tony Peacock - Cracking cup tie all round. Chrissy Waddle had a blinder in the 2nd Leg at your place, had little Alan Wright at LB in his pocket for the full 90 (literally in his pocket, think Wright was only about 45cm tall)
What a fantastic side we had around 1991/92/93. And what a fantastic night THIS was, one of those nights that you will remember for evermore. WAWAW!!!!
This is the First game I ever watched on TV with my dad .. I was 13 years old he was a life long Wednesday fan .. needless to say I’ve been a supporter ever since that day I remember being blown away with the football and that black and Gold kit … UTO 🦉
those were the days where just about every club took the league cup very seriously and what a team we had then compared to the present sorry shower.WAWAW
+Stacey McGrath - For all the stick we got for spending big we never signed a player to sit in the reserves, Dalglish never wasted a penny of Uncle Jacks hard earned. Warhurst to Blackburn was a first class bit of business, really exciting signing... you just can't count for breaking your leg at Swindon on debut, then coming back to start in the XI at Anfield only to do the same.
Warhurst always looked like he was going to score. The pace he had was immense the players we had Sheridan warhurst harkes Worthington Nilsson Hirst bart William's
I went to this could not get a drink anywhere before the game everywhere was snide with owls finally tried to get into an old WMC and the man on the door said u must be joking they're swinging off the chandeliers and dancing on the snooker tables wawaw
From an Arsenal fan perspective you did us a massive favour by dumping Blackburn. We wouldn't have beaten them in the LC final as they absolutely had the measure of us at the time. Sometimes the footballing gods smile on you.
Really felt like watching this again this evening. RIP Trevor.

Always love the Owls fan celebrating with both crutches in the air! 😂👍
Still the best away game of my lifetime. What I'd do to go back to the early 90s.
Pick any five plus a keeper out of that team and they'd run rings round the current squad. Wonderful times.

Same here and live to the nation!!!
Great times supporting Wednesday back then, I really hope to see such days again.

Wow, that is one shiny pitch, due to the lights reflecting off of the mud. Looks like a hockey rink. Surfaces have definitely improved since then.
What a weds side back then some great players and a brill side

02:22 Waddle with outside of left foot for fourth goal - genius.
❤ Magic

The night we played like Brazil's 74 world cup winners .

I'm sure Carlton Palmer scored an own goal and had ago at Chris Wood the goalkeeper for it...!!!!
Why or why did Francis not just leave Warhurst upfront in the finals. Oh well. RIP Francis and the Bartman.
