      Thank you. Not sure when we will get the generator back. Hopefully soon.

    I really appreciate your videos involving FP generators. We have a FP Mini 8 "Icemaster" generator on our sailboat. During a trip over the summer, the generator was running fine with a steady load when it suddenly stopped producing voltage. I've done all the troubleshooting I can think of and nothing. As is your vid, I've tested output on the generator and get 0v. Is there anything you can suggest or am I looking at having to pull the generator too? Again engine runs fine - but no output.

    Hey Justin, love your videos. I have a question for you if you don't mind. I bought a 2019 Pursuit DC325 and the generator was out and at Fischer Panda for service. They shipped it back to me and with the help of your videos, I was able to re-install it and it works perfectly. There is however a cut 2 conductor wire in the bilge that I assume was connected to the generator when originally installed but I have no idea where to connect. I traced it back as far as I could and found a pursuit label on the wire that says "remote shutoff" or "remote shutdown". Any idea what this is and do you know if it actually went to the generator? Thanks in advance!

      Thank you and I am glad I could help. The wires you are talking about go to the fireboy system in the boat. If the fire extinguisher goes off it shuts down the generator at the same time. Being a diesel generator I never knew why they did that. I'm thinking it was just for ABYC standards. You could reconnect them but I am not sure what pins they go to on the board. Call Fischer Panda in south Florida and ask for Issac. He knows everything about the pin locations or you could leave them off if you don't care about the generator shutting down if there is a fire.

    Did you say the person who bought the Tiara also has a 456?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  3 года назад

      That is correct. He bought the 456 so he had a boat while the Tiara was being built for him.

    Any thoughts on why the impeller/pump partially failed or overheated? Restricted water flow? How often do you recommend changing the impeller?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  3 года назад +1

      We tell every customer to change it once a year or 100 hours because of the harsh environment we are in. I am filming right now and found more issues with the motor. It will be in the next episode. 😉

      @@JustinLeeMarine Interesting. So, what would you say about a 2014 Yamaha 200 with 80hrs on it? Should that impeller be changed before 100 hours? (used in northeast fresh water...)

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  3 года назад +1

      Good question. I would say every two years in freshwater no matter what the hours are. The upper driveshaft seals are very prone to failing and should be inspected when the waterpump is done.

    Why does the whole generator need to be shipped back to Fischer Panda? Wouldn't it be easier for them to pay you to fix the problem than to have to ship the whole generator back and forth?
    Interesting video as always.

      They do that so they can determine what happened. If they find it was because of water intrusion then they can deny the warranty and thank you. Today is continuing from yesterday. 😁
