I think it was a license thing. In some countries, bikes can be limited for beginner riders.

The legal limit is 25mph/40kph. When i was a teen you can get the licence age 14 and none of those bikes where limited becouse no technical inspection was needed so everyone was doing 60/70 mph easy. Now with the nany state most kids have to run limited or be finned.

@@MotoTrooper nope in Germany you can reduce Mopeds which could drive 45kmh to the speed of 25kmh to make them "Mofas" then you can drive them at the age of 15 and dont need a liscense, you only have to do a small test but tbh almost evryone drives them open.

Back in the 90's I had my bike airbrushed by a well known local artist with a seriously large and perfectly artistic mural of Pegasus the Winged Horse in silver and white. While not my intention, I soon realized it was a smashing hit with the ladies. So much so that riding through the red light area of town at 2 a.m. (on my way home from the night shift) the bike was like a magnet. They would sometimes even run out in the street arms outstretched and stop me. So many offers of a 'free one' in exchange for a ride. At first I thought it was fun / funny, but soon it was more a nuisance so I started going the long way around to get home.
I only got a compliment from a kid at the gas station. Think the same as a girl has shoes or a designer handbag. They think they are hot and fabulous and couldn't care any less.

It's not always about that, bikes are often out of car drivers visual view 'cause their size, often they are on blind spot or behind A pillars, car drivers should move their head to see behind the pillars and check the blind spot always. For example when biker comes from the direction of the sun, car driver has very hard time to spot the bike, everyone should
anticipate way more in the traffic, bikers for the most because they are the most vulnerable

@@DeadBois Hope you recover and get back on bike soon, driver's minor error or not paying attention can get biker killed, when I'm riding I always be cautious with oncoming cars, turning cars for the most. Practice of quick dodges are never waste of time.

@WaffleMinion You're right, I did do something to piss him off, since we didn't have a verbal interaction that would have given me the indication that he was under the influence. I was going 5 over on 55mph rd, so he probably visually assessed my speed from the parking lot and became enraged, which caused him to come flying out after me. I'm happy you've never had a situation like that, because it's terrifying not know what someones motifs are when they randomly want to ram you off your bike.

@@justinborris4200 Surface streets don't have a "passing" lane. There's a left and right lane. Lanes considered "passing" lanes are reserved for divided highways that don't have left turns on them.
@king Koopa. Absolutely and positively wrong for or 2 reasons. one being that this isn't a surface street its a highway. And two, according to the idaho DMV rules and guidelines (which is where this ride resides and drives) slower vehicles are to remain in the right driving lane as to literally avoid this situation. Feel free to download the Idaho DMV hand book via PDF file. The rules is the same in most states.

In many EU countries, 50cc off road bikes are registered as mopeds, because that allows you to drive them from a younger age, and drive them on the street. The definition of a "moped" (in a law context) is pretty loose here, so anything with a 50cc with a top speed of 25/30/45 kmph (depends on country and type) can be classified as a moped.
