@@icecold9511 When the rider said "I didn't know that they were reopened", then that right there should've been the cop's chance to say "i'll let you off with a verbal warning, just go and get it registered as soon as possible to avoid a written warning". He chose to be unreasonable and let his status as the "Boss" be the reason he put his foot down harder than most cops would've in this case.
It didn't seem unreasonable. He said the place is open now, there was a public announcement, he should have known, and the cop still gave him the benefit of the doubt. They both gave their points and both understood

There's a light near where I live that takes almost 2 minutes to turn from red to green every single time. So it actually took me a while to understand what did "light registering" even mean lmao

Well it's TRUE in ontario right now because of covid if your plates expired between March and August you dont have to register the sticker until October it still says so on the government website I took a screenshot so if I get pulled over I have proof

He had the ticket pad in his hand he had already decided on giving a ticket, hearing the biker say that shit just meant the cop will sleep sound that night knowing he made the right choice.

I know right, for me the best defence is just to tell the cop what they want to hear and that's usually "I was being stupid, officer" those words have saved me from getting a ticket a few times.

@@DoradoFever Depends on the province. BC is Provincial run insurance, but Ontario is all private insurance. And it's getting to be a huge joke here in Ontario, absolutely no regulations, so the insurance companies are free to discriminate.
If your paying $300 a month for insurance it's because you have a shitty driving record. I ride in BC where its the highest in Canada and I pay $109 a month for a FZ1000.

what kinda dipstick is fishing for regi's right after the department for filing license/regi's has been closed for months? also, idk about canada, but in US we basically extended the expiration on a lot of license/regi stuff, since we knew DMV would be down. i mean the guy isn't recklessly wheeling through intersections here, he just has the wrong color sticker, i think we can chill. the plate being on the wrong vehicle is kinda a legit stop, i admit. he let him off with a warning which ultimately was pretty fair, but this stop could've been more cordial on the cop's part. he claimed he was the watch command/supervisor, and at least said he'd clear up another cop if they hassled him today, which also was fair. so i guess if he has a small stick up his ass, it's way better than the whole oak tree.

@@gourdguru I always say the nice riders get screwed over from the jerkoffs who don't stop for the police and play stupid games like putting different license plates on stolen bikes. It might be better to not even display a plate than to put one from a different bike on. Having no plate can be construed as either stolen or it fell off. Different plate screams stolen.
