It seems like a more faithful remake than WC3 reforged. But maybe it is just because I've never played Half Life. By watching these videos I'm pretty hyped for this game, I'll definitely try it out.
Want my honest opinion? Yes it is more accurate and faithful remake and thats a shame. Reforged is the ONLY remake thats REALLY off the original game. I got Age of Empires 2 remaster video incoming and ye.. that too is a perfect remake. So far Blizzard have dropped the ball big time on this. Its not bad or anything, just not faithful to the original art as you put it
I do like how they nod to the other expansions. Barney's without his gear, Gina is mentioned, the HECU spout lines from OpFor. And that's not to mention all the stuff they've taken from Half-Life 2.
@@Starfals There are the Operation Black Mesa and Guard Duty mods for Opposing Force and Blue Shift respectively currently in the making by Tripmine Studios.
@@oairyuzaki5168 Yea i heard about those long ago.. they were never as impressive as Black Mesa tho, i hope they end up awesome tho. Huge fan of OpForce
Despite playing both games recently, I actually watched through the whole thing. HL's run is just so dense that it's easy to forget the small details, but videos like these help us remember the key remake parts! I'm still thoroughly impressed with what the Crowbar Collective achieved with BM. They definitely remade it so that each map is lived in and detailed. It's so easy to overlook these things as the player. Crowbar Collective loved the original and treated it with utmost care.
Than you for watching, i did put a lot of work into this because its my all time favorite game lol. Btw, they are remaking the first part of the game AGAIN, before Xen, to make it look even better. They are one good studio.
@@Starfals So true man. And also props to Valve for letting them sell it on Steam. Valve tends to recognize player-made content and give them a spotlight. This could've turned ugly (ehrmBlizzard); they could easily seize CC's development of this and we'd never get a proper remake, but instead now, Crowbar Collective is getting all the praise they deserve and more.
Yea and larger for many rooms and places. Maybe thats how they wanted to make everything look? Bigger means grander and more epic even if its not super realistic? Black Mesa is more realistic i guess? Half-life was more empty too, so big empty maps makes it look bigger (is my guess)
Lots of 90's games looks similar like this. Big square rooms with almost nothing in it. The scaling was almost always off on things (such as huge doors for no reason). Just go look at Unreal which came out the same year as Half-Life.
Black Mesa did a really great job recreating Half-Life although I wish they made HECU look like the military from the 1990s instead of present day gear.
Sorry for the late response. RUclips didnt gave me notifications lol. Long time to edit, even longer to record. I think it took me a week on my computer. Also thank you! :)
@@Starfals It is for me too. Can't believe a pc game from 1998 is still the best single player fps for me. I've tried several others, but nothing comes close yet.

Blacj Mesa is generally larger, Half-Life is just a lot emptier and has more plain surfaces, which is why it can feel larger.
