      Thanks. Moss is slow growing when it comes to home propagation setups The strands can grow tall quite fast but takes very long to cover surface area. Sometimes they may not grow if the right balance of temperature, humidity and light is not achieved. It’s always challenging to mimic conditions that helps moss to grow in nature.

      @TheUrbanNemophilist  4 года назад +4

      ABHIJEET AVATE we are trying to grow moss in closed containers here and any direct sunlight would create a greenhouse effect and the extreme heat generated will kill the moss. I have great results using cool white lights. If you study the natural habitat of moss you will find them growing in cool dark and damp places. Of course there is light which they need for photosynthesis but that is filtered and intermittent.

    I have a question...
    A propogation box is to grow more moss from the moss you out in the box, right?
    So if you've filled the box up where can it grow to, should the box only be a quarter or half full?
    I'm new to this and am searching info before getting into it so I have an idea of where to start.
    Cheers 👍🏽

    Is it necessary to use gravel and charcoal, cause I've propagated moss without gravel and charcoal.
    Just use a closed container and toss some moss into it with some water it'll propagate with no problem.
    I'm just asking if I should use gravel and charcoal or not, cause till now I don't have any problem with my moss.

    • @TheUrbanNemophilist
      @TheUrbanNemophilist  3 года назад

      Gravel false bottom helps to store excess water and sets up a rain cycle that can keep the moss hydrated at all times. Separate watering will not be needed then. Charcoal works as an antibacterial agent to remove toxins which can kill the moss in the long run. These are all based on my experience and study.
