    J'ai vecu ma jeunesse au Bresil jusqu'à l'âge de 34 ans. k j'ai gagne plusieurs courses de route entre 7 et 20 km... je m'entrainais beaucoup. Maintenant Maintenant je vis en Belgique j'ai 67 ans et je cours dans la categorie veteran ...J'ai 67 and je m'entraine sur la route peu-près 60 km par semaine. Je travaille encore 15 h par semaine parce que je suis pensionné. Donc mes exploits viennent de l'entrainement et la passion pour la la course à pied. Mais grâce à l'excellence et excellent athlete Michael Jonhson, desormais je sais que mes compétences vienent aussi une partie de mes ancetres africains. Merci excellent Michael Jonhson... nous tous vous aimons . Ari Neves from Belgium

    Thank you, Michael Johnson. You are one of my favorite athletes that really inspires me. your running style, your energy, your blackness, handsomeness and your discipline all come together to make you the best athlete in the world, and it looked on you very fit, to qualify you to be the best athletes in your time and until today. I remember when I was still in primary school I was one of the best 100m sprinters at my school! I knew I was gifted for that but I didn't have a chance to continue and make it career. Watching your games gave me more energy and more courage to do what I have to do. Knowing that I am gifted at some point. Now you have done a tremendous Documentary! It is very very important in the lives of athletes and especially in the black athletes carriers as they dominate in it. I haven't seen any other athlete who has done such important work in his career. I really congrats you and good luck in your rest of life. Love you

    Watching this documentary, I'm reminded of an interview by ESPN-Australia (I think) with Usain Bolt in the Beijing 2008 Olympics a week before he stepped on the track. He was asked why is it that the Caribbean & Jamaica in particular has produced so many world class sprinters over the years? Bolt answered - slavery. He didn't mean anything bad by it; he just made the point that the different genes that came from all over west Africa is directly responsible for the results. He was not wrong.

    • @biggalaxy9102
      @biggalaxy9102 2 года назад +1

      There was Slavery all through the Caribbean's, so why aren't Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Dominicans dominating Track & Field. Cuba a little with their jumpers & hurdlers but that's about it. I know exactly what it is, it's culture, nothing more or less. The 3 Caribbean Islands I just mentioned dominate in baseball, PR & Cuba also boxing. Why? Culture. Slavery has very little to do with it in my opinion.

    Not to mention, the black men who didn't perfect their physical attributes, the ones who died in violence, the men who sit in jail, infant mortality, victims of "pregnancy termination." Maybe even faster more athletic than Johnson or Bolt, black people who just didn't fulfill their athletic dreams. Like my brother, who out ran the state track champion, twice (they were in the same gym class) with no training in high top basketball sneakers. The track coaches begged him to join the team but we were poor, so he had to work after school.
    Me and my brother were the fastest kids in the neighborhood. I ran so fast, in relay races I would outrun everyone and literally briefly run backwards and still win the race. Never lost, only to my brother occasionally.

    Michael Johnson was my idol growing up. I wanted to run like him so bad and went on to break my high school’s 400m record.
    A kidney transplant surgeon once told me that to survive the ocean journey you would need kidneys that hold onto water and sodium better. Selecting for these kidneys might be a factor in the high rates of hypertension and renal failure today when combined with our unhealthy high salt diet today. I wonder if the stroke he had later was a “lacunar” type stroke due to hypertension.

    Only the strong survive,it is possible that our ancestors who survived were mostly those who came from families that were able to feed themselves accordingly ,making them more healthy and strong.
    For example; if your ancestors came from a family of kings,they would be well fed, making them more healthy and strong,making them more aggressive also.
    The health and strength of a child determine by how healthy and strong the parents were at the time the child were conceived.

    I wish he hadn't given back the 5th medal. His teammate was the one that cheated, not he. And it doesn't negate his foot speed in the race. He earned that through hard work and determination and should not have to suffer the indignity of losing it because someone else's lack of integrity. I respect him greatly, he's been a positive influence in a time when blacks need it. I just disagreed with that decision. Interesting documentary nonetheless.

    Did slavery make the East Africans faster in long distance? No.
    West Africans today are just as fast if not faster than the Americans and Jamaicans but the reason we do not hear or see more of it is Exposure to the sport, interest, resources and finance. Boxing, MMA, all distance races both short and long are all still very very new to West Africans Football (soccer) is hands down the preferred and more popular sport in ALL of West Africa.

    • @youtubecommenter37
      @youtubecommenter37 4 года назад +2

      It wasn’t. Humans are no different from animals in that they can be bred-all humans of any race. We have bred chickens to be three times as big as what they were 200 years ago. Same with pigs. Same with crops. We’ve crossbred the strongest strains of wheat, corn, etc for bigger crop
      Slavery lasted 400 years. If people constantly paired the biggest strongest men with the strongest healthiest women, you’re going to have a population with superior genetics when it comes to strength and size. Notice that the majority of black athletes in the Olympics who dominate are from the United States or Britain or Jamaica....countries that built up their black population through slavery.
      It’s also an incredibly taboo topic in America, for understandable reasons.

    The descendants of Slaves including the Native Indians and Latin Americans, are the biblical Israelites . We break God laws, statues, and commandments, and he allowed us to be enslaved as our punishment. We are the same people from Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medes and Persian, Greece, and Romans captivity. The Trans- Saharan slave trade, Indian Ocean slave trade, and finally the Transatlantic slave trade. We are shemites and lived among the Hamites in Africa, After Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD. The Hamites and the Ishmaelites ( Arab) sold us to the Edomite ( Caucasian). See Joel 3:1-6 , Luke 21:20-24, Deuteronomy 28 :32-33 and vs 37 vs 41 vs 45-48 and vs 68.
