CLIP DESCRIPTION:
When Mitch (Norm MacDonald) and Sam (Artie Lange) get a job at the movie theater, their new boss (Don Rickles) starts out with a belittling speech.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Shortly after leaving the "Weekend Update" anchor slot on Saturday Night Live, Norm Macdonald resurfaced in this comedy about smart-aleck Mitch Weaver who teams with buddy Sam McKenna (Artie Lange of Mad TV). They open a revenge-for-hire business (Dirty Work Inc.) in order to raise $50,000 so Sam's father (Jack Warden) can get a heart transplant. After they bring down a dictatorial movie theater manager (Don Rickles), they next hire prostitutes to pose as dead bodies during an auto dealer's live TV commercial. Millionaire real-estate developer Travis Cole (Christopher McDonald) is bothered when Mitch and Sam interfere with his plan to wipe a woman's home out of existence. Cole hires Dirty Work to trash a building, so he can have it condemned. However, Cole doesn't own the building, and problems arise, mainly since the grandmother of Mitch's girlfriend lives in the building. The feud escalates. Cameos by Chevy Chase, the late Chris Farley, former child star Gary Coleman, Adam Sandler, and John Goodman.

According to Artie Lang, they had a difficult time filming the "new guys" scene because they kept breaking out of character and laugh when Don Rickles would do his insults toward them. The part with Norm laughing had to be incorporated into the scene because of all the takes they were doing.

I love how everyone is petrified at the prospect of losing a job at a movie theater.
I mean, I obviously wouldn't want to work for a boss like that, but like 10 years ago during the recession (and possibly in the 90s when this movie came out) it was tough to find decent work. It seems ridiculous now because there's a huge "low-skill" labor shortage at the moment, but this wasn't always the case.
It’s a movie…it’s just needed a premise to make the joke of showing a pornographic film to regular people

can you imagine being an actor and trying to hold it together with don rickles berating you.i wonder how much of that was scripted or if he was just riffing.
All riffing. Norm couldn't keep a straight face, so they did several retakes. They finally left in his real laugh and Don riffed on that, also.
If you watch close you can see its edited together from different takes and Dons voice is overdubbed a few times. Artie said on Stern years ago that they couldn't get through a full take without somebody breaking character.
Also his insult to Norm was directed at Norm personally not his movie character but they left it in because its still funny
Artie Lange said that it took three hours to shoot that scene. He kept cracking up when Rickles berated him.
