  • The new commando rocket launcher in Helldivers 2 is such a blast. I've been combining it with the jump pack and EATs to be as mobile and hard hitting as can be.

    Never have I thought to pick up a teammates support weapon and pack, reload the weapon and drop it again. Now that's teamwork 👏

    Pro tip with EAT, if you walk forward and shoot at a charger leg it will rip off armor, one shot. Then use primary to kill, works great for behemoths

      @@Wallbouncing Yup, the game takes into account the velocity of projectiles, so if you're going forward while shooting, it will make a little bit more of damage. Just enough to rip off their legs in one shot

      @@runnergo1398 It was almost certainly unintentional. Their damage formulas are just so overcomplicated that the devs themselves forget how they work.
      Stats wise, the EAT is set to do the exact amount of damage needed to strip that leg armor. It's just that for some reason, damage falloff is still set to apply to this explosive armor piercing warhead, and the damage falloff formula always rounds down to the nearest point, so a normal shot is always one damage point short of being able to strip the armor.
      The basic Diligence rifle is in a similar situation - The damage is set exactly so that it should be able to one-shot a devastator in the head, but because of falloff one full damage point will be lost as soon as the bullet leaves the barrel, and it will take two shots. This case can be argued to make a tiny bit more sense though, since at least bullets do rely on their speed to penetrate and cause damage.

    The modifier combination of orbital scatter and airborne patrols really attracted me to a loadout similar to this lately, because there are no cooldown or call-in interruptions to kill your flow.

      I agree that with aerial patrols, anti-air, orbital scatter and stratagem cooldown increases, it's nice to spam low cooldown stratagems to lets you still dish out a lot of damage while being able to constantly reposition and quickly call in another set of firepower.     Fun fact about this extraction that I think would have helped you a lot with this build: I'm 99% sure you're able to call support weapons down on the big rock to the northwest, so you wouldn't have had to go back and forth from the ground to the rock to get high ground to see targets

      I was straight booty at this game when I first picked it up. It takes awhile but sooner or later all this becomes second nature and you can autopilot a lot of the game. Thanks for checking out the video!

      @@runnergo1398 Yeah, it means like "shit" or "really bad." Which I was when this game first came out. The hardest thing for me in the automaton planets were the mines. Almost 3/4ths of my deaths in a game was from stepping on a mine and on the terminid side of things I just kept getting destroyed by hunters. Didn't know where to look, didn't know where to go. Now I'm less booty. Still got some ways to go but not as bad as before, haha. Hope that explanation helps!

    Been running similar setup, but I think this is only really solid because of the pods being available for now, compliments the build so well. Not that Im complaining, it's fun.
    I run adjudicator with support pack, orbital gatling, commando and , sticking with spear guy and its been very liberating!
    So fun to two tap close range chargers, so satisfying

    Commando is PERFECT for a support build, I like to carry a teammate's support weapon backpack and act as spare ammo, Commando + Spear with extra ammo is amazing on Automaton planets, acting as loader when encountering Gunships is supee satisfying, plus you can use Commando to take out fabricators way faster than they can and they won't even waste their precious missiles

    Watching these Helldive difficulty vids really shines a light on the problem difficulty 7 missions. I had a lvl 7 today spawn 10 chargers at once. I would gladly trade them for a couple of bile titans

    Every time I run a mission since the last major patch I just remember AH saying, "wE lOwErEd HeAvY aRmOr SpAwNs AnD rAiSeD hOrDe SpAwNs To CoMpEnSaTe..." Meanwhile 15 titans and chargers crawling around like roaches after someone turned on a light. But don't worry, you don't need to bring as much anti-armor these days guys... more like you HAVE to have someone in the group dedicated to horde clear who then has to depend on everyone else for anti-armor. Or one can just play the AH forced META of continuous fighting retreat and drive by button pressing.

    I'm doing pretty much the same thing as you only with a napalm strike rather than the jump pack. I just like dropping it at my feet and walking away and killing everything. This is a good alternative if you don't want to use the breaker incendiary for any reason

    Don't really get how you guys don't get bored using the incendiary breaker, i got bored and stopped using it like 5 missions after unlocking it. It's so braindead OP that becomes boring after a little while

      Yeah, I agree. I like to switch it up a bit. I mainly rotate around assault rifles/smgs/shotguns but rarely do I touch the energy weapons. Thanks for checking out the video!

      @@Largentina. Not that deep dude, is not that i can't comprehend people liking different things.
      Imagine having an array of many different options with, each having it's own perks and quirks and simply pick the one that does everything better than everything else with no drawbacks and using the same boring shit hundreds of hours. It's like winning 200 races riding an F1 car while everyone else is running with their feet tied
      Armor penetration? Doesn't need, fire kills everything below the big ones.
      Acurracy? Doesn't need, 1 pellet hitting the small targets kill them and aiming center mass deal with everything else.
      Being aware of ammo economy? Doesn't need, thing has more bullets than most primaries.
      Range? Doesn't care, one pellet hits and you get full fire dmg.
      No risk of blowing yourself like an eruptor, no bad ergo of a Jar-5, no recoil, no risk of putting yourself on fire by mistake. Nothing can go wrong, there's no learning curve, there's no room to improove, there's no way to suck.

    I've been heavily considering this once I saw commando being avail. Part of me feels you need the rocket pods to handle heavies fast but then we have the chaff... Incin shotty rocks on bugs but I find out i run out of ammo fast lol

    I like using the laser for bots, but generally keep it dumb fire for bugs. Super fun strat weapon though

    I run a very similar build to this on some higher difficulties between the eat and the Commando cool down you pretty much always have something to take out a Titan. The only difference is I add in the Rover guard dog to help with ad clear since there are so many damn Hunters.

    I use a similar set up on bugs solo -eagle cluster bomb/napalm/orbital gas/gatling barrage with a jump pack, grenade launcher and an EAT (or Commando currently)
    Solo bots loadout is similar -eagle airstrike/380 barrage/gas with the jump pack, AMR, and Commando

    Not convinced with the gas but I can see the charm in the rest. I think I’d pull a turret (I liked them before they were buff-passed) or cluster instead.
    If only we still had the dark fluid jump available :’(

    What's your opinion of the Orbital Gas Strike vs the Orbital Gatling Gun? They seem to serve similar purposes

      I personally like the gas strike more than the gatling. The gas strike has a shorter cooldown and is great at killing the smaller enemies more consistently than the gatling. The gatling is great as well and can help a little more with killing heavies. I'd rather have the gas just for the light/medium enemies and take other stratagems meant just for the heavies.       @@Wallbouncing The Orbital Gatling Barrage has a shorter cooldown since the balancing patch (only by 5 seconds though) which was what convinced me to use it, and apparently, the gas is not only toxic but also corrosive (this is why it works against automatons) and has heavy penetration whereas the gatling only has medium pen. They have similar ranges, but the gas lasts longer (although if you have the extra orbital salvo upgrade it's less noticeable). So it seems it's actually the opposite, gas has a longer cooldown but seems better. I will definitely check it out.

    Better to bring an actual support weapon, instead of an EAT. You spend most of your time running away while your teammates are dying.

      I'm using the B-08 Light Gunner body armor. I believe you can get it from the super store when it is rotation. I'm also using just the basic B-01 Tactical helmet. Thanks for watching!

    how are you moving so fast? i never seemed to have that much speed all the time. (im not dumb, i know about sprint, light armor and 2 modules)

      literally everything looks faster, even stim animation before being able to sprint and hunters jumping around are faster

      It should be the higher FOV.

      I just play with my FOV on max. It looks like I'm moving fast but it's the same speed as everyone else is moving. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Cool build, looks fun doing the most while flying around lol. Still doesn't beat the sheer effectiveness of the supply pack. The ability to spam stuns and stims is just way too good

    the game is neat, but all the glichtes and bugs (hehe) are rather annoying. Some are there since launch and haven't been fixed.

      Think there’s still a nice amount of concurrent players. Nowadays it’s slower than before but that’s the case for live service games. It needs a new and fresh content drop for people to tune back into it. Thanks for checking out the video!
