"[...] aslongas udon't sitout in de open, dis beauteh will do a lot of a gruntwork for you and your taym." -- a man, quite obviously from Texas, speaking about weapons in an affectionate manner.
I like how even though you start the video by saying this is how you make your team follow you, a lot of the time you talk about looking out for your team and helping them, going where they are going. I think that's a very good way to convey how Helldivers 2 doesn't have a position called Team Captain. It all flows organically like a flock of birds. Everyone knows the objectives and that's all the game needs to be fun.
I was just trying to figure out the last stratagem on my spear build just like this. Was thinking a needed some crowd control so we will give the gas strike a shot! I also didn’t know the rocket turret will take down gun ships so I might switch from the auto cannon turret. On the bugs the auto turret is great for taking out shrieker nests.
Try the orbital gatling brother. I use it with Servoassisted (helps your others stratagems) , and It can take down FACTORY STRIDERS on its own (after i destroy the turret with spear so it wont insta kill any ally). The cooldown is so low that it starts counting even when its being used, so its like 40s real cooldown. Its even faster than gas
Thank you for this info and team play strategy walkthrew. I'm usually solo diver and join random players when I need to or get lonly. I look forward to the "clan" (hope that is not the official name for it just sounds bad) type system to know you can call upon reliable teammates, but that's only a rumor and videos like this help us who join up with shy and/or no mic players more often than not this helps shepherd them and getting folks to work as a unit with or without verbal tactical coordination. First, great video. You have got a new sub from yours truly, and I hope we get to rock out a dive one day soon.

you are right about “leading by example/rolemodel” but its also true for just sticking with teammates. as long as someone decides to be leader and lead the team to each objective you can usually get the mission done by just staying together

Very instructive! I've just started trying out the Spear since they fixed it (although I experienced a crash just as I was firing at a Factory Strider's eye today), so this was super timely! Subbed!!!
I hit the subscribe button the second I heard about someone else keeping their team safe with the spear. My squad never complains when I call in the supply on myself to launch 20 rockets against in their defense
Need more videos exploring squad-synergy. So many Rambos out there. The only thing more bad ass than being able to hold your own is coordinating with your teammates.
IMO all of this is very solid advice, particularly in the tactics. Thanks for the vid, I hope it encourages more folks to stretch their situational awareness to include their team.
I sometimes like to take both the autocannon and rocket sentry. While its fine to throw both out, alternating one down at a time is pretty good at keeping a turret online more often than not. Just need the turret discipline which is something I'm working on
Funny enough, I didnt have the same loadout, but that has been my mindset with the spear; Protect the team. Actually got a lot of praise last game, and man does it feel good to know I protected my fellow Helldivers. Glad to see this video, going to try out the gas strike and plasma punisher
Based rocket sentry enjoyer, it's so so good and has such efficient emo economy that sometimes it's still up by the time the cooldown's over I've been taking it every mission since the update and can't get over how much I love it. Honestly this whole build is kind of what I do, but I haven't used the plasma punisher or the gas strike. Really like your content, keep it up!
Recoilless rifle main, AT ghost-diver here: teammates really appreciate it when you one shot the big boys running them down, and will often try to keep relatively near you if you prove that you can hit your one-shots.
ah i remember being surrounded by gunships was hell, then out of no where my team mate popping those bad boys one at a time using the spear was so awesome *sniff* oil was spilled that day
Wow, I had never really used the spear after one bad game with it since the targeting used to be horrendous. I started using this build and I have noticed my games with it were very smooth, even in a team where there is little communication. I just mostly sit at a distance and take out key targets that my teammates cant reach or kill hulks chasing my fellow helldivers and we profit. Thanks for the build!
I'm a lapsed Helldiver (for now), but I loved this vid and will try this loadout once my team come back around August 6th. Also wanted to say I appreciate the teamwork as I try to do this in Darktide. The games where no one says anything but are working together are so much better than games with comms and a bunch of solos. For Democracy!
I love the Spear because i can help out team mates halfway across the map by taking out gunships. Also, as a "team player," I'm the guy picking fights and drawing everything away from the other guys whenever I can. I bring autocannon sentry instead of gas strike to add an extra distraction to distract enemies. Sentries are excellent for support.
First time watch, very cool how your giving ur thoughts on in game play by play. Rare these days. I'm definitely going to try this loadout! Subbed n liked 🍻
Hey bro I've been trying this loadout and it's been coming in clutch alot. It's honestly whatever loadout you want, but try out the deployable fortification shield+ the HMG emplacement deployable. It comes in very handy when you get redeployed without any support weapons. Especially since the cool down is amazingly short. Place both down and you can mow down 70% - 100% of a bot drop if you know how to target weakpoints. The only thing it doesn't do good against is tanks, but that's up to you to decide how to deal with it. Rocketpods, spear, lazer, etc. Devote 2 of your strategem slots for the shield+HMGemplacement and lmk what you think. The shield by itself can cover you and your team alot in open snow maps
SES Whisper of Freedom here, great video, I personally like eruptor for mediums, verdict for lights and spear for heavies. Eruptor also takes care of fabricators really well from long ranges if you got vision on the holes
9:50 that spear shot does actually appear to take out the tank, I think the explosion after the laser is just the second explosion that tanks do. I may be wrong though
My current fav load out is HMG + supply pack + napalm eagle strike + orbital gas strike. Glad to see some more respect going to the gas strike!! I get to keep an endless spray of bullets going forward and then any enemy dumb enough to follow from behind has to trudge through a sea of fire and acid. 10/10 would recommend.
I just love the different difficulty level, they enable a lot of gameplay, from chill to arcade to solo to hardcore to straight up hell. Just do your thing, cooperate, work as a team or solo, there just nothing like helldivers.
Excellent tips, CommissarKai. With the increasing presence of gunship patrols, it seems essential to include at least one Spear in every squad. While many players dislike the addition of gunship patrols, I believe it's a strategic move by Arrowhead, especially since the Spear's targeting was fixed. Changes like this make specialized roles more viable and necessary.
Not really. Laser cannon and/or AC/rocket sentry can easily take out those patrols (try to get the patrol aggroed on you so the sentry has free reign on those fliers. Getting aggro first also helps you wipe out normal patrols with ease if you throw the turret off to the side.)
Loving the team play guides! Nice run. Is there anything you focus on when soloing to improve your general game play? Also, when making a video like this, some discussion of alternate tools that less experienced Helldivers might have available would be cool. For example, for Helldivers who haven't unlocked the Spear yet, a couple sentences on which support strat you recommend that they might have? At least for the vids with scripted voice overs.
This is a great suggestion, so thank you for that. I'll make a video using something like a level 5 loadout so new players have a solid build they can use.
TIP: you can mark enemies and patrols with the ping button and people can say affirmative or negative an it will be marked that they will take that enemy or ignore and use concealment.
Before I quit the game, i enjoyed a pure Fortify build. I used the FS-55 Devastator Armor set for the Fortified bonus. I used the SMG-72 Pummeler and the GP-31 Grenade Pistol as my primary and secondary with Smokes or stuns for my grenades. For my stratagems, I generally ran the Ballistic Shield, Shield Gen Relay, HMG Emplacement, and EATs. This build was my go-to for Bot missions, using my Ballistic Shield and EATs to support my squad as we advanced on a position or popping down the HMG and Shield Gen Relay to hold a position. The Pummeler and stuns were great for crowd control, while the grenade pistol was good for dealing with small groups of chaff or fabricators. Smokes were nice for cover occasionally.
As an avid spear enthusiast, you can actually change the firing arc of the spear by laying down or diving, if someone is a little close try diving backwards and shooting midair, the rocket doesnt go up as high and may hit more consistently in those cheek clenchin moments
Stratagem baubles can also be thrown into fabricator vents, it'll target inside the fab and destroy it, if you don't have something better ready, you can use a supply, turret or shield to destroy a fab through the vents
I've been using spear + plasma for a week now or so, and just a tip that there is super destroyer upgrade that lets you get 3 instead of 2 rockets from resupply for spear (all the backup ammo for any support weapon)
Corner camping and funneling is also useful if you're using a single target weapon like the slugger or the AMR. Instead of looking for a spot to hit them, let them come to you in a location that is to your advantage.
I really appreciate how you get into the psychology of the squad. Where did you think you learned this aspect from? Sports? Military? Genuinely curious!
I always play support and find dropping the machine gun sentry around the map is a lifesaver especially when dropped on a flank. Back it up with the autocannon sentry up the slope and the AC manpack and the orbital laser, i usually have my team covered.
Love seeing someone else pointing out the value of corners and funneling!

@@Joe._Biden I was just being honest... I'm not a negative person at all tbh, I just call it how I see it. I haven't watched a single one of his videos since those 2 or 3 so... no? I'm most certainly not "still here"
Also worthy to note, the HMG emplacement is also a hell of an anti air weapon.
Super underrated stratagem. If y'all want to see a master of this strat, check out @PostRook here on youtube. He just posted a video yesterday using all sentries and the HMG emplacement to solo helldive against the bots.
Fk yes i use it too. Wish I could play with like minded players as you guys
Switch it to high rpm...go brrrrrr
I like to refer it as the “fuck everything” gun since nothing is safe from it.
Except maybe a factory strider but that things a tank among tanks.
Love that whole walkthrough of encouraging teamplay without active communication and using an actual mission to showcase how you approach it. Really good stuff!
The moment I first saw the Spear, I was in love with the weapon… so was kinda disappointed about it not locking on properly… now that it’s fixed though, yea, can attest that it’s the GREATEST feeling to clear the skies of those gunships, and have everyone on the team give the “Thank You” prompt 😁
You were at 3.06k a few hours ago .. now 3.09k. You deserve it! Your videos are great The commentary is both hilarious and informative at the same damn time 😂
It's like John-117 (future Master Chief in Halo) learned on his first day at bootcamp... at 6 years old:
If you are first, but your team loses, you lose.
Been in dives with players like you Kai and it makes life so easy
When teams break off and go off in duo's its doable but not ideal to sustain combat . It always falls apart, and people just quit the mission will be trying this loadout for sure.
Keep up the great vids bruv
Running duos is definitely for guerilla tactics, dont have enough bullets for assaults
@@Michaelfirefoxx My friends and I typically run a 3-1 on most missions, I'm usually the guy running by himself, but that doesn't mean I'm some kind of lone wolf or anything, we are helping each other in a way by clearing POI's and bases/nests or softening the main objectives for our allies to attack, simply drawing bot/bug call-ins is a boon greater than any weapon could provide because less enemies on one groups doorstep is less need for more firepower.
"[...] aslongas udon't sitout in de open, dis beauteh will do a lot of a gruntwork for you and your taym." -- a man, quite obviously from Texas, speaking about weapons in an affectionate manner.
Just found you, instant subscription. Love the commentary, very informative. Ty for the video.
"When you look out for your squad, they'll wanna look out for you."
Yes! This! F**k!
So excited every time one of your videos comes out! Thanks for the amazing HD2 content and your team play commentary 😁
What a creative use of that screen in the destroyer. Big fan.
I love your vibe and the commentary, thank you!
Excellent video and team play ! Love the comments about how to inspire teamwork silently
I'm probably one of the crazier helldivers and prefer to fight the bots, so this vid will help me out even more. Thx for the tips dude. [Subscribed and liked. o/ ]
you are right about “leading by example/rolemodel” but its also true for just sticking with teammates. as long as someone decides to be leader and lead the team to each objective you can usually get the mission done by just staying together
Damn really cool to see you have almost the same amount of views as the current player base, maybe im wrong but I feel like its cause most of us are here for the long run now lol, legit have no time for any other games cause of battlepass bs and how grindy they are this one is perfect for me for a live service don't gotta worry about missing out on stuff i paid for cause i didn't have time to play and i feel its a lot of people like me that are still here cause we all still got other shit todo. Love videos like this and cool to see how big you're getting hope it continues.
if everyone kept their feelers out for team play like this, this game would get so easy. Nice job.
Yes, amazing strats! Definitely want more. Bro sounds like the Dog Whisperer of Helldivers 2 lol
Haha [sees tank drop] "Tsst!!!"
Youre like the dream teammate to randomly match with dude
So wise, yet so howdy.
Thank you for such a banger of a video. Super helpful
I sometimes like to take both the autocannon and rocket sentry. While its fine to throw both out, alternating one down at a time is pretty good at keeping a turret online more often than not. Just need the turret discipline which is something I'm working on
This is freaking great - this is what Helldivers is all about! I hope I see you on sometime and I hope I’m running my HMG+Supply pack load out!
3:31 wtf just detonated? How did that result in FORTY kills? God damn
there's a frame on around 3:30 where you can see the fins and the telltale smoke of an old hellbomb that's been hit
@@pansernes fcking hidden hellbombs nuke me all the time arrrgh!
Funny enough, I didnt have the same loadout, but that has been my mindset with the spear; Protect the team. Actually got a lot of praise last game, and man does it feel good to know I protected my fellow Helldivers. Glad to see this video, going to try out the gas strike and plasma punisher
Didn't know your channel but damn that video is well edited, love the work about the intro, I'm subbing !
Punisher Plasma is so comfy on bots! Thanks for highlighting the weapon! I love it!
I tried this earlier and boy did i have tons of fun! Thank you for sharing!
Based rocket sentry enjoyer, it's so so good and has such efficient emo economy that sometimes it's still up by the time the cooldown's over
I've been taking it every mission since the update and can't get over how much I love it. Honestly this whole build is kind of what I do, but I haven't used the plasma punisher or the gas strike. Really like your content, keep it up!
Another great vid CommanderKai, loving your content and looking forward to the next one.
Recoilless rifle main, AT ghost-diver here: teammates really appreciate it when you one shot the big boys running them down, and will often try to keep relatively near you if you prove that you can hit your one-shots.
Easiest sub of my life, your gameplay is so manly!
ah i remember being surrounded by gunships was hell, then out of no where my team mate popping those bad boys one at a time using the spear was so awesome *sniff* oil was spilled that day
Love the videos, also it’s interesting how the new biome influences gameplay against bots with the abundance of cover for both sides
2 WORDS!
WALKING BARRAGE!
Thanks for the build!
even as an exclusively solo player, its fun to see that there are people that put so much thought to playing as a team
Great video! Love watching your teamplay tactic vids. For super earth!
team works make the dream work, gotta look out for each other out there divers
I love the way you make the content you gave my subscribe
When you see a gunship go down and you don't know how that's a smiley face.
Hey, I run a very similar loadout often. And I use it to protect teammates often. Very cool video. Ill give this specific strat a shot.
As an accurate autocannon user I love this video. Similar thinking about being a team player and protecting others. I salute you Sir! 💪
I run the spear in almost every loadout. I am the angel of death that watches over you from any distance as long as you're in my line of sight.
I just love the different difficulty level, they enable a lot of gameplay, from chill to arcade to solo to hardcore to straight up hell. Just do your thing, cooperate, work as a team or solo, there just nothing like helldivers.
Great vid and play. That's the whole reason for me to continue to dive after max out everything
5:07 I think youre giving the average random way too much credit 😂 Expecting people to do double digit IQ thinking over here
This is the wholesome content that I need in my life
Good stuff man. Thank you
TIP: you can mark enemies and patrols with the ping button and people can say affirmative or negative an it will be marked that they will take that enemy or ignore and use concealment.
Thank you for mentioning this! I was not sure how to do the "negative, not engaging" ping, and it was driving me a little crazy.
@@CommissarKaiYou gotta hold qfor a negative ping, I believe.
I recently started playing JAR-5, Spear, and Auto Cannon Turret against bots, and its been unbelievably good.
Already have been doing this instinctively, good to know it works for others as well
I will say this: Spear and Commando combo? That shit goes hard.
Seems more like they guided him and got him to do what they wanted more than the other way around 😂
CommissarKai could very well be the real life Brasch, keep it up bruthur!
Me, a low level player, watching a lv 60 call a clusterbomb strike on an tank (the tank is fine, he killed us both)
Excellent Content all around! So the Plasma Punisher instead of the Scorcher? Never would have considered it before this.
How can I communicate to my team to not put themselves behind enemies I’m hitting with the arc thrower other than cooking them instantly?
I used the spear for the first time today and it was awesome. I used the gatling barrage, 120 barrage and the 110 eagle rockets. Had a blast.
Almost spit out my food when you said the name of your ship. It's the same one I have! 😆
I always play support and find dropping the machine gun sentry around the map is a lifesaver especially when dropped on a flank. Back it up with the autocannon sentry up the slope and the AC manpack and the orbital laser, i usually have my team covered.
Thank you. I hated getting ragdolled by gunships and Devastators making me into Democracy Swiss cheese.
I've rocked this loadout for awhile very effective
I just started playing the game, great video!
