I'm a KU diehard, and hey've become a great rival for Kansas in Basketball. Self and Huggins like each other real well. They are also very competitive in football. I'm not sure if he meant what he said or how we're interpreting it. Drake had just made a comparison about wvu and clemson in 2010. WVU just beat Georgia and Oklahoma, both conference champs, in the Sugar and Fiesta bowls respectively. Clemson wasn't even on the scene. They weren't a "brand" yet. His point is that without recent success, are they truly a valuable team? 2 years later in 2012, WVU dropped 70 points on Clemson, acc champs, in the orange bowl. WVU had just beaten the lights out of Georgia, Oklahoma, and Clemson and Drake's buddy just said that the b12 was a "step too far",

If Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisville, and Miami joined the Big 12 I could see the Big 12 getting $65 million per school and with Yormark getting the Big 12 more money for basketball the payout per school could be an additional $15-$20 million more! This would make the payout per Big 12 school on par with the SEC and the B1G! Who knows, within a few years, if a few of the Big 12 schools win the national titles in football and basketball the payouts for the Big 12 could be even higher than the SEC and B1G since the Big 12 is already the best conference in basketball and it’s not that far off from the SEC and the B1G in football with the additions of Clemson, Florida State, Miami, and Louisville! I think with the additions of these new schools the future for the Big 12 would take off like crazy! Way more than the SEC and the B1G because this conference has a bunch of schools that are very good in both football and basketball unlike the SEC and the B1G that are very top-heavy with 3-4 schools in those conferences dominating all of the other schools in football and not many of them are top basketball schools! I hope Clemson and Florida State would see the potential of the Big 12 and not think they have to join the SEC or the B1G in order to make a lot of money! Plus, if they joined the Big 12 they would automatically become the top alpha dogs in the conference, but if they joined the SEC or the B1G they could find themselves burried in the depth charts behind schools like Alabama, Georgia, OU, Ohio State, Michigan, and USC just like Arkansas and Nebraska are right now since they have joined the SEC and the B1G respectively!

Clemson and FSU to the B112 was not impossible. I have posted it in 20 threads on your videos from the first crying by them they wanted to leave the ACC. All the Fanboys and RUclipsrs went nuts decrying me in comments. I stated long ago that Clemson and FSU are doing all this to just wind up in the B12 b/c the B10 nor SEC were really interested. The B12 has never showed interest in FSU. The actual schools in the ACC the B10 wants have been known for a decade,,,UNC & UVA are their top choices and Gtech & Miami are second level choices. SEC doesn't need either Clemson or FSU.

I think if you have FSU, Miami and UCF, you have 3 out of the 4 teams that play in major conferences in the state and you have one of the largest sports markets in the country. I go to UCF and you can't go very far anywhere in the state without seeing either of those schools represented. From a business perspective that would make a lot of sense and $$$ for the next media deal.
Georgia Tech makes sense to have the Atlanta market and they play UGA every year. UVA for the DC market and their education reputation.
I think UNC and Duke is a possibility for basketball. Louisville just to have a team that plays an SEC team every year

The only reason the recent per school payout at the ACC appears greater than the Big 12 is because all our new members have been given full shares whereas the other conferences pay $0 to 50% to theirs. I personally hate all this but we didn't start the fight. I would love to go back to more regionally based conferences but apparently that doesn't maximize TV viewership. To an extent, eyes on college football is fulfilling as the games in the better time slots will always far outperform low viewership times. Still, this is just a step in the evolving control of college football by corporate interests.

This is great for the Big 12. Losing Texas and Oklahoma left the conference with zero football blue bloods, while still having quality teams. The closest blue blood right now is BYU lol. Adding Clemson and FSU gives the conference 2 legit blue bloods. If we can also add some of Duke, UNC, Miami, or Louisville, the conference would close the gap with the SEC. Rumors are the other ACC schools also want to come, so the Big 12 can pretty much pick and choose who they want and leave the ACC to die the ways of the Pac 12.

All the people coping saying leaving the ACC to the Big 12 would be a lateral move are wild. The ACC only makes 4m more per school in a 14 team league with ND as non-football member media deal than a 12 member Big 12 media deal. How can you all not see that when the Big 12 media deal is adjusted to the new 16 team model, especially if you add FSU and Clemson to be an 18 team conference, which happens sooner than the ACC, that the Big 12 will make vastly more money than the ACC. Not to mention the CFP revenue will go up, and the fact that the Big 12 is completely bought in on football while you still have ACC schools that dont care about football.
If Clemson and FSU cant get into the Big 10 or SEC, they would be fools to stay in the abysmal leadership of Phillips and not join the Big 12.
