Great to see Steve back on the channel. And thanks for another great riding-buddy’s-setup video. I was on the fence between AT vs GS but at that time the AT didn’t have cruise, which is bizarre for a ride-by-wire bike. Real cruise is a must for old guys like me with arthritic wrists. Thanks again.
I realise I’m commenting on an old video but man, it’s nice to see two good friends having a good time. Is there a possibility of a follow up on this video? What’s changed, what’s the same? Or if the AT has been exchanged, what does the man miss? Thank you.
Thanks for watching, and for your awesome comment! If you enjoy seeing good friends having a great time on their motorcycles, you're in the right place!!! Check out some of our adventures like this one (ruclips.net/video/dhs96YJFnoA/видео.htmlsi=A6ZnGLeuH6mTNmhN) and this one (ruclips.net/video/FTc9u79g6Zo/видео.htmlsi=je14Nkvs6MITsGjR), and this one (ruclips.net/video/jT3rd7riRbc/видео.htmlsi=acT84gIsMsuV_aV9). Plus you'll pick up tips on our bikes and how we have them set up along the way...like in the episode where Steve demonstrates how to fix a flat on his AT while out in the middle of nowhere (ruclips.net/video/DORc1ucLKFM/видео.htmlsi=t071gCRglSrDx2v1). I hope you'll subscribe and poke around. We may be goofy...but we always have a BLAST!!!
Thanks for the review! I recently bought a new ‘21 ATAS DCT. Absolutely LOVE it. My Gold Wing is jealous of the new stable mate! It has replaced a CRF450L which I liked, but didn’t ride enough to justify having it. Maybe we’ll meet on the road one day. Cheers!
Great video with great info. I'm glad you covered the auxiliary lights. I'm trying to decide which route to take in that department. I have the PIAA (clear) LEDS which I really like. But, now I'm wanting some AMBER lens lights for added safety as far as being seen by oncoming motorist. I really enjoy these tours of ya'll's bikes and setups. Stay safe guys,,,
I also have the 2018 AT DCT in black. Did a 7500 mile trip last year. Still in love with the bike. My only complaint is the wind noise from between the turn signals and windscreen. I can't find a way to block it. Let us know how you like the Atlas throttle lock.
Sounds like an awesome trip, ZigPig! Hopefully Steve will jump on here and share insights on the wind noise, as well as feedback on the Throttle Lock. While you're waiting for his response, check out how Jason and I like the Atlas Throttle Lock in this video: ruclips.net/video/yZsexrfGH1E/видео.html.
@wClark8388 tkc-80's on the front..after recall I went with Motoz tractionator on front they look just like the tkc-80's can't tell the difference so that's a win. only four tires I've tried are the stock one bridgestone (no comment ) , Motoz tractionator rallz., Motoz tractionator GPS, And Awake wilds. the GPS are my go to fav's. for off road/sand the rallz are a great choice. hope that helps thanks for watching.
Thanks Darrell! I know it's heavily modified (you just have to know Steve...he's like McGyver). But I'll get him to share his secret with you. Stand by...
@@steveroosrides - Thank you Steve. I am 6-4 and I bought a Puig touring screen which in the standard mounting is the same height as the ATAS screen, I still get buffeting on the crown of the helmet. I was wondering how the buffeting was for yours, and why trim the top. Thanks again
690 ADV thanks for asking, the only thing i can say is it worked. could it work better with an upgrade I'm open to try if someone will send a set to try out.(hint Hint) My style of riding is not full on moto X. Chris and Jason say i aim for the bumps truth is the ride super smooth. I would like a better front fork setup, tends to dive into the corners. like chris said its a Honda..

Steve was very thorough, huh? Thanks for watching!

That's awesome Lloyd! Glad you liked the video...and glad you're enjoying your AT!

So I'm researching Africa Twin motorcycles and who shows up? My fellow Hartsville resident and favorite photographer Steve!!!
What a small world!!!
did you get your twin?
Great vid. I like those highway pegs. What brand are they, and can you recall where you got them from? I want/need them, desperately.
Thanks Whinston! Here's a link to those highway pegs: amzn.to/3RzuGGD. You're gonna love them!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Brilliant! Thanks! They’ll be here on Monday.
@@whinstonwhoodle6373 always happy to help, my friend!
Great video Steve, have you tried any different tires on the AT since this was shot?

160000 miles 6.5 tall with luggage how did he manage without spring upgrade to his weight?
Excellent question! Hopefully Steve will respond. But it is a Honda, after all...just get on it and ride! 🙂

Pretty brilliant, isn't it?!?
