Thanks for posting this Curtis. Getting up there is one of my goals, I skipped it on the BDR because I was solo and I don't think I'm quite there skill wise but I hope to be someday. Maybe next season we'll see.
Greetings! I'm sure you'll enjoy your new Tenere! Good times. I like the 890 quite a lot. I don't like the "feel" of the engine as much as the one in the T7, but the rest of the bike is ok. The bike rides like a big dirt bike and with an improving understanding of what it is, and an improvement in my understanding of how to ride it (Birch's Adventure series is amazing), we are getting along pretty well. My main issue is that I need a set of more sturdy wheels this year. No plans to get rid of this thing any time soon. Looking forward to spring!
@@CurtisBrandt Ah, never been there, but I was working in (the shithole of) Idaho Falls from early '09 to late '10. Looks interesting, I have friends near Boise and I've ridden (sportbike in '13, WAY before I got my '21 890 ADV R) South from WA thru Lake Coeur d'Alene thru Kooskia then North up thru Lolo pass to Missoula and really liked that whole area. Maybe I'll get out there on the 890. Looks pretty technical, don't think I'm good enough yet for that.
@@kx8960 That's a great area where you've ridden! Yeah, I've ridden a fair number of different locations in the west, and this area is pretty much as good as it gets. I do like the Sierra passes in the Reno area, but I'm perfectly happy here in Idaho for sure. I haven't even ridden Lolo yet! A couple of years ago I did an Iron Butt Saddlesore 1000 (1096 mi in one day), basically a big loop from Boise to Missoula and back, and planned on hitting Lolo pass. There was an issue involving a rock slide and I wasn't certain I could get through, so I changed my route. Still had a great day, and still need to go back to Lolo! So you have an 890R? Those are great bikes! You can really cover some miles, and they're amazingly capable in the dirt for sure. As you know, there's every level of challenge available, from easy to gnarly, no reason not to find exactly where you want to ride. Stay safe and maybe I"ll see you on the road.
What a beautiful technical road! Nice riding! Really impressive descending speed!
It's a really great location. Looking up at the lookout from the road below you know it's going to be a fun climb, and it is!

It's an extremely worthwhile goal. Keep it near the top of your list!
Great job riding this. We have ridden past it a couple times on our 890's. We will definitely ride up it next time. It's brutal. Looks amazing.
Let's do it together! I plan to go again as soon as possible! What a gorgeous location.
@@CurtisBrandtthat sounds great. We love that ride.
Badass, great work my friend!
Thanks for the great ride and idea, brother!
How are you liking the 890??
I’m still on a 1190 adventure r and just picked up a Tenere 700, just love the look of them.
