Im not quite patrioitc neither a localist guy (I feel for my people but in a nationalist way) and I was born in the same town that Paco was born (Algeciras).
He is my flag, and he represents me all over the world.
Im a punk metal guy I play guitar but I dont have too much knowledge about Flamenco , well it doesnt matter to me cause everytime I see Paco playing guitar I feel emotional , especially when I see a pure reaction like yours that honours in such noble way what this genius was capable to achieve.
Thank you for the nice words and your appreciation.

Thank you for your reaction to the video. I've been following your channel for several weeks now and I liked your work so much that I subscribed to the channel. I was lucky enough to meet Paco many many years ago and listen to him play guitar on a beach one evening. I have never forgotten that evening and feel his unexpected death was a great loss to the whole music world. Best regards from Germany.

It has been a pleasure learning about him and the whole genre, there are so many awesome things that I wished I had known about sooner but better late then never! I can only imagine how incredible that evening must have been! He is truly a piece of magic, I am so glad we have so much of his work to look back on! Even though he is not with us in body he is with us in spirit through his music that will go on to inspire many more generations!

The problem with spreading flamenco guitar is the lack of good flamenco singers around the globe. You cannot be a well rounded flamenco musician without a firm control of flamenco rhythms and language. All those Spanish flamenco artists have thousands of hours jamming with dancers, clappers and singers. Not gonna easily find them in America.

Paco again in the channel! Great! I love this piece.I remember me trying to learn it and getting along quite well with the arpeggios in the beginnig (of course in a very much slower pace) but then came Paco´s first run and then I put my guitar back in the box, hahaha! Guajira is a flamenco genre inspired in cuban music brought to Spain when the Spanish people who migrated to Cuba came back home,so we can hear some caribbean sounds in it.Paco´s compositive talent offers a piece with so many sides in only 5 minutes.

As a teen I discovered Paco with Mclaughlin and Dimeola. Soon after i heard Sabicas and Paco Peña, and I remember thinking “what a shame P. De Lucia doesn’t play in the classical way like Sabicas and Peña….because if he did, he would be THE BEST”. It was some years later I discovered the album this piece Guajiras was on and it was even BETTER than I had envisioned the guy doing (Fantasia Flamenca is basically the Flamenco guitar Bible for me, the perfect acoustic solo album ever made of any genre). Machine double kick drum precision in those arpegios in 1969, and the compositions were DEEP. Punta del Faro is an other magical piece that beats all other flamenco guitarists. Glad to have finally met him a few times. I have 9 tutorials on Paco’s music on my channel if anyone wants to learn this. I even break down this guajiras.

I don't know what I like more, listen to Paco, or listen to you talk about him. Thank you very much for your respectful treatment of Paco. I like to listen to Paco, and if at the same time I can see your face of enjoyment, I like it even more.
Paco was also an extremely human and warm person. Very close. Here in Spain we all love it, even if some of us only know the song "Entre dos aguas". People only know that piece. Only music lovers, especially guitarists, know more about him. That song was so commercialized that for many it seems that everything has already been said in it. You know more about him than ninety percent of the people in Spain. In Andalusia it is no longer like that, there it is the daily bread.
I've always been a fan of Randy Rhoads, Pat Metheny, Napalm Death, Derek Bailey, Stravinsky, etc... But Paco is really something out of the ordinary, jajajaja. You are a very good person. Let me consider you as a friend. Thanks for everything. ☺️🙂

    but paco made flamenco popular
and your right he inspires almost every guitarist
    and he inspires me too
im 13 years old i used to play classical guitar but when my fathers friend saw my playing he actually liked it and showed me paco which i was blown away by hes playing
since then my guitar playing also changed
i found a popular flamenco guitar teacher that was taught by paco pena which was taught by sabicas
and he really liked my playing and my self esteem is at all time high now lol
if you liked this camera angle
you see paco had alot of recordings in the same place heres some

react to hes zyryab and cancion de amor/entre dos aguas
and react to aranjuez its a classical piece which paco played and played better than all of the classical guitarists
todays guitarists only care about speed
paco played really strong and with alot of deep emotions
you can also check out grisha goryachev hes a guitarist that paco liked alot
i see your a rock guitarist

La Guajira es un tipo de flamenco que se escuchaba en la América Española y los ciudadanos de las provincias españolas de allí (No eran colonias) cuando viajaban a España, traían ésas influencias musicales. Por eso le llaman Cantes de ida y vuelta.

Today many guitarists are capable of doing what Paco did at the time he played and even though technically they are better. Paco was a technical monster too because his father put a guitar in his hands at 8 years old and made him practice the instrument 8 hours a day and he lived his whole life for this instrument, but the difference is that Paco played the guitar with his soul in the service of Andalusian culture and it is called Flamenco. Nowadays this heritage is gradually being lost, it still persists because certain musicians and singers still keep this musical tradition alive thanks to festivals and Andalusian Ferias or television broadcasts which still devote time to perpetuate this culture. Paco was, is and will remain a legend.

      paco was a composer
which i compare to great classical composers
      hes pieces are masterpieces
      remember this
there will always come a better player but for now todays guitarists should undrestand its not all about speed

There are many outstanding flamenco guitarists these days such as Paco Serrano, Vincente Amigo, Pepe Habichuela, and Tomatito (just to name a few). But they are all eclipsed by Paco de Lucia. It's rather difficult to compete with Paco's complete and seeming effortless mastery of the instrument and his harmonic invention. His amazing performances have been also been transcribed and presented anew by a number of serious students of flamenco guitar such as Grisha Goryachev and a few rather amazing Japanese flamenco guitarists. With that said, it's hard to surpass Paco de Lucia...and it is no wonder that so many have tried to copy him.
I recommend that you check out Paco's rather astonishing performance of Rodrigo''s famous Concerto de Aranjuez. In its day this was the guitar concerto (there were precious few) that nearly every classical guitarist was obligated to perform. I've heard most of the great classical guitarists perform this wonderful concerto, but in my view - and I admit to being somewhat biased - Paco's performance tops them all. And it's rather doubly amazing since Paco was not a classical guitarist...and it took him some effort to work through learning this piece. You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/RX1JhYkLxrs/видео.html
Finally, there are some tremendous classical guitarists working today who are as mind blowing as Paco, though the music generally does not require the sort of finger gymnastics that are part of flamenco. Rather, they are more subtle, though clearly equally challenging. I recommend you listen to David Russell, who in my opinion - for what it's worth - is the most amazing classical guitarist working today. For example, check out his live performances of the Bach Lute Suites:

Has been fun watching your Paco de Lucia's videos. You and your viewers a sensible people and is cool to gather. A technical suggestion from Spain to dig a litle bit and get more from this art is the musical metrics of Flamenco "el compas". Rock music normally stays in 4/4. Pacos and flamencos uses different complex metrical patterns for different song styles "palos" as ex. If you hear Almoraina "bulerias, you can try to follow the 12 beats pattern that allways fits on frasing. 1,2,3,1,2,1,2,1,2. Per bar. Then you ll understand and enjoy better. Ther is nothing out from compas; best for everybody

Comrade, it says a lot about you by dedicating so many videos reacting to the MASTER OF MASTERS within the world of guitar like Paco. There are other greats in the history of Spain such as Andrés Segovia and Narciso Yepes. If you see his guitar performances they will not leave you indifferent, I guarantee it. Even so, and as Paco de Lucía himself said, "There are great guitarists with an empty refrigerator"
Regards, and thank you very much!!! 😁😁😁🖐

Paco de Lucia said that the best guitarist he ever heard was Sabitas. You should watch it on RUclips.
    Best wishes.

'Entr du saguas' 'los panaderos' are easy to play, you can try them. Rumba and tangos are not hard simply because the beat is 4/4, but the 5/12 beat ones like soleares, alegrias, bulerias, fandangos, suigria are hard because it is hard to keep beat unless after thorough training. Yet, I played alegrias and bulerias but couldnt improvise..i just sticked to the musicsheet.
Paco as he puts in his own words is an improvisation junkie... he picked it up as he plays with the other ones Mcklavlin and Demiola

The "í" instead of "i" indicates that's the vowel of the accent, not every word has á, é, í, ó, ú, but that indicates an accent

Thank you for all the wonderful things that you say about my guitar hero I’ve been faithfully studying flamenco for the past almost 5 years . I have a phenomenal teacher from Spain that I do classes through Skype weekly. He was friends with Paco for many years his name is Ruben Diaz -his RUclips channel where he specializes on Paco technique exclusively. Is Ruben Diaz Flamenco Guitar. - left me know if I can be of any help to you in the Flamenco realm, ( I do read a shit ton of flamenco books ). Keep up the amazing work . Warmest regard Ruben Serrano
