Love the content as always. Just an idea, but with all the JDM rods y'all have, it would be nice to see the rods bent against a deflection wall under load. It would really show the rod actions and allow the viewer to visualize it. Just an idea!
The first thing u mentioned about absorpting the torque is the BIGGEST thing i look for. Untill someone experiences this perfection they just have no idea how easy it can make it retrieve hard pulling baits ALL DAY LONG.
Valkyrie World Expedition 78H has been nice travel rod for those 14 to 20ft divers - DD22/6XD/CR16/G87 20A’s. Using 30lb braid to 15-20lb fluoro for saltwater bass. Feels a little softer and glassier than the Launcher.
I have the megabass javelin destroyer. The model before the P5. I love that rod because it throws the deep 300 and the deep six with ease as a matter fact I tried the Blitz magnum and I didn’t think it would work very good but it actually worked really good. And I have the Valley Hill Odessa MMH rated 1/4 to 5/8 oz. that has glass in it and it’s really light. It’s a 6’6”and it’s great for smaller cranks!! Oh, the megabass Triza Sparna is good for smaller cranks. Really good. Thanks, the Up Tackle .
Excellent video Ben, as always. FWIW, the Daiwa BLX 7'4" MH Limber is very capable with 3/4 - 1.25 oz cranks. It even works well with the Deep X 300, granted the line used is a bit stretchier like Sunline Defier.
I just bought the daiwa tatula elite 7ft cranking rod. I like it a lot, but have nothing to compare it to it's my first cranking rod. I mostly fish Flapslaps, 1/2 oz blitzs and Z2s. I have used it for moving topwater ploppers and was pleased with it.
6’10 M glass is phenomenal at fishing a crank less than 1/2oz. Love to fish the IMA Bill Lowen square bill and pin jack 200. Also fishes the lighter stealth blade, z1, z2 or rock crawler like a charm.
I like to see you buy the dobyn’s champion crankbaits rods DC735CB -DC736CB -DC765CB these are glass rods to see what you really think about them they are only asking $249.99 that’s not bad for that price I been hearing lots of people say they love them that’s why I like to see if get them and try them out
Thanks for the great video. I have been strongly considering getting the z crank elseil. I was surprised it wasn’t on the list. Will it handle z 3’s , tiny blitz, blitz dr ?
The biggest thing I look for now is the handle length in a crankbait rod. I’m still looking for a finesse to average squarebill rod with a longer than average handle.
I'm just a bank guy in a river system fishing for smallies. I wanted something that did lipless, 1/2 chatterbaits, squarebills and 3XD cranks. I ended up with a Levante Diablo Spec-R. It may not be the best choice, but it's a good choice of a wide variety. I was pleasantly surprised.
I know you hate ST Croix but they make some great rods for the price. I try and stick in the Victory and Legend Bass line usually. The Victory Power Target Cranker is a great DT10/ 3xd rod. The carbon cranker and is the same rod with higher quality components. Also you get a 15 year warranty so how can you beat that.
I have one of the St. Croix mojo glass rods, It's a great cranking rod for the price, but my only complaint is when you're fishing a deep crank and the blank bends all the way down to the handle, you can feel the cork almsot coming loose like they didn't put enough glue on it or something. Or maybe thats just the nature of slow action glass rods, just wondering if anyone elses glass rods do the same thing? Cheers.
A fiberglass rod will last longer the the 24 ton graffiti that's my 40 year experience with rod's. All of my fiberglass rod's I still have but the graffiti rod's broke fast on me not all but enough to complain about 24 ton graffiti. IT Will brake if bump it against a three or two much bend snap all day not fiberglass rod's.

Megabass Levante EMFT is my “go-to” for small to medium sized cranks; as well is a solid lipless rod

Gloomis 843CBR for those little guys. It’s money, and great for small poppers too like a Rico.

How about a follow up vid on cranking reels that pair with those rods?
Shimano Bantam

How would you guys compare the madbull to these rods?
Just bought the launcher and the combat stick a couple of days before this video. Excited to test them out on toledo

Thanks Ben. What about the Flatside Special?..
I also like the z crank elseil for those smaller ones
Low key versatile rod
Haven’t seen too many reviews on it either
The Megabass P5 Kasumi 6 11 was never in my thoughts for small cranks baits. Will have to try it out.
so when ya gonna start selling orion on the website?

Which brand ?
Is the loomis crankbait line of rods any good?

Diablo Spec R is a great choice for all around reaction 👍

If you’re using inline single hooks in place of trebles, do you no longer need a parabolic “bendy” rod?
Anything u would throw a z2 and a deep6 on?
Any spinning rod/reels for crankbaits, a side from Windbuster?
G Loomis IMX PRO CBR rods are the best crankbait rods on the market by far.
Ben, where’s the shogun review ?
Could the Megabass a
ochi launcher handle the Klash 9?
Would the Mark 56 be a good option the magnum ex dr?

Hey Ben... what rod in the Levante line would be your preference for the 3/8oz to 3/4oz bait selection?
Never mind... I see below you recommend a Diablo Spec R, one of which is in my arsenal as we speak.
What size/type/brand line are you running for the Orochi XX Launcher and Big M 7.5, Blitz Magnums EX DRs, etc? Thanks!
Usually 14, but I’ll go down to 10-12 and up to 20 depending on what I need
No P5 Crank Elseil?
Nice
imx pro?
Madbull works for grass and rock 🤑

Whats the best P5 rods for 1.2 S cranks
