  • People become very curious about my career when they discover that I am a reader.
The first thing they say is, "Wow. There are actually people who read screenplays?"
Then, invariably, the conversation turns to them telling me about their screenplay. It doesn’t matter where I am, I can be at a kid’s birthday party, a baseball game, or even my dentist’s office (oddly enough, every dentist I have ever had also has a screenplay), a screenplay is never far away.
Another popular question is, “Who decides what movies get made?"
Even if someone doesn’t write screenplays, they are often curious about how a screenplay makes it to the screen. Hence the creation of popular television series like, “The Movies That Made Us.” The story behind the story is always very intriguing.
So who decides what movies get made? Well, the simple answer is "Producers." Producers decide what movies get made. But it can get tricky because there are a lot of different kinds of producers.
So how does it all go down?
This week, we will explore the nuances of what producers want in a screenplay within our weekly RUclips Video.
During our weekly session, “What Do Producers Want in Your Screenplay?” we will dive into the details as we answer this important question.

We will also explore examples of writers that take matters into their own hands to make sure they can control how their screenplay gets produced. Some of these writers are also actors. We cover people like Ben Affleck, Tyler Perry, Wes Anderson, and Spike Lee, among others. They are all filmmakers who became producers in order to have a say in the finished product.

I have been a Talent Manager for over 12 years and a writer for even longer. I see how hard it is to get into the industry, both as an actor and a writer. I would definitely be producer, director and writer and help open doors for up and coming actors.
