    @6:25 I think all Slash fans get it & would not be the least bit surprised that he has produced an album like this.

    For anyone who doesn't know, what the reference to the killing floor is. It's a reference to the room in a meat packing plant, where they bring cattle, where they're slaughtered.

      It does, but here's a little more context, as Killing Floor is a metaphor. From Wikipedia: According to blues guitarist and longtime Wolf associate Hubert Sumlin, the song uses the killing floor - the area of a slaughterhouse where animals are killed - as a metaphor or allegory for male-female relationships: "Down on the killing floor - that means a woman has you down, she went out of her way to try to kill you. She at the peak of doing it, and you got away now ...

      It’s on a different level? I love Jimmy, but he ain’t no Howlin Wolf. “And you know that’s right.”

    Love Slash. Reinvented himself?

    • @gozaband
      @gozaband  2 месяца назад +1

      Absolutely. When have you ever heard Slash come out with a blues album? Real blues. Not blues rock. Two very very different things. He’s leaning into his influences which is great.

    👍 Check out Rory Gallaghers cover of Howlin' Wolf's 'When You'll Be Mine' (RoryWeb2011). The sound quality isn't great but it's a great performance.

    Please listen to Howlin' Wolf's original with Wolf on vocals and with Hubert Sumlin and Buddy Guy on guitar. Slash's version is good, but no one sings it like Wolf sang it.

    Would have been nice to have some Chicago blues players on the track. Maybe John Primer (Muddy’s last musical director).

      @@gozaband says a fool! Growing up doesn’t mean you have a stick up our back side! It’s called being thought full, kind, and loving! Being a child all you life is why we are, where we are! How can Slash be reinventing himself if he IS a blues rock guitar player? This is what Slash is all about! Blues rock! You guys no nothing about rock, blues or Slash. Have you guys hear any of Slash’s Snakepit albums? Or any of his collaborations outside the GNR camp? Outrageous.

      Tell me you know nothing about the blues without telling me you know nothing about the blues. Nice try little bro. Go listen to Howlin Wolf and learn what the blues REALLY is. Blues Rock is NOT THE BLUES. Thanks for playing, better luck next time!

      You’re talking about two different things. Slash “reinventing” himself was just stupid. Nice try, kiddo.

      I'm on both sides here. Slash doesn't play straight up blues BUT he incorporates it into his playing. So there are hints of it. Not to mention I forgot how many years ago it was but slash played with B.B King
