She actually started out doing rock (also became a fan of black metal when she was about 14, mosh pits and all). Her recent album "Revamped" - rock versions of her hits - features Slash on "Sorry Not Sorry". They've known each other for a while.

Surprise album of the year for me. Not a huge fan of most of the people on it but it's really a fun listen overall. Chris Stapleton does a really good job doing the Peter Green. I also love the one with Beth Hart.
I make NO apologies for what I’m about to say. The music is tight as hell, but then she jumps in and I had to stop. I CANT stand her voice the way she sings. Beth hart should have done this song instead. Hate if you want. But I grew up with these songs, and this song in particular deserves much better.
Beth Hart did not sound great on this album, sorry. She sounds like she’s smoked a carton of Lucky Strikes to be perfectly honest. I grew up with these songs too, dude, and to me Demi Lovato’s cover was fantastic. She’s one of the better voices out there. I make no apologies for saying that either 🙄.

I get what Slash was trying to do, but it really doesn’t work. She has NO emotion whatsoever, it’s like she’s just singing the words with NO feeling, NO heart/soul. The music is tight, but I just CANT get past her vocals. Sorry to hurt your feelings, NOT!
