I haven't seen any Linkin Park fans complaining about their choice to add her as the new lead singer. There's always gonna be an annoying minority of fans who think every single damn album should sound like Meteora and Hybrid Theory, and that every other song sucks. I'll never understand those people.

I've been a Linkin Park fan for essentially my whole life (I'm 26). I balled my eyes out when Chester died, especially considering I was never able to see them live. I knew going into this that no one would be able to compare to Chester, but I was still optimistic because we all know things change and it doesn't have to be a bad thing. When I first listened to this song, I got goosebumps. I got goosebumps watching this video, I've had the song on repeat since it came out. I think she's really good, she's not Chester obviously, but this also isn't the same Linkin Park that it used to be and with all things considered, I'm excited to hear the new album coming out and I can see them becoming another massive global hit like they were in their heyday. And in reality, all of us Linkin Park fans should be excited for what the future holds. Since you want some recommendations, listen to Waiting for the End to see what I mean. The hardest part of ending is starting again.

The video is a metaphor for a struggle with anxiety. The lyrics are written from the anxiety’s point of view. He’s not dead, but feels like that because all of the thoughts that are haunting him. In the end, he manages to break the shackles of his mind and runs from those thoughts. He breaks a metaphorical coffin/box. So, although the video is dark, it ends on a positive note, it gives hope.

Yeah give the album a listen. There's no skips. 11 bangers. A couple songs weaker than the others but overall a very good album.

As my other comment indicates, I like the message here. The song is growing on me, as there are lots of subtle complexities, especially in the guitars. But, it isn't my favourite from them by far. What would I recommend? It depends on what you're looking for, they have a pretty big catalog. My favourites are the more symphonic metal tracks, 'Awake and Alive', 'Comatose', 'Not Gonna Die'. A few of their more straight-forward hard-rock songs: 'Save Me' (the live from London version is cool), 'Hero', 'The Resistance'. 'Whispers in the Dark' is an older track, but has some killer guitar riffs. 'Surviving the Game' is from their last album, and is heavier and really catchy. 'Legendary' is an anthemic track (WWE uses it). 'Psycho in My Head' is pretty cool and has a great video. 'Victorious' is a beautiful song that John wrote in as a tribute to Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Enjoy!

It is about a lot more than just people hating on their music. It is kind of an anthem for the sane in these insane times. And, they actually have taken a lot of flack for some of the stands they have taken over the last few years on a few issues. I was getting a bit worried they would get cancel-cultured. They left Atlantic records, and have started their own independent label. I'm not sure if there is more to that story yet.

I used to be a fan of him. I saw he made a new video, and was expecting hype comments, but i was taken aback by his comments being deleted. Then i googled why that was the case and it was in light of abuse allegations, I never saw him as a saint, i never saw him as a stand up guy, but i at the very least was a fan until i heard he used people as urinals and was an abusive scumbag.

My guess is they've deepfaked their faces onto the dancers, which gives that weird wobbly and smudgy look! I think the eeriness of the look (almost uncanny valley) adds to the feeling and totally something The Hives would do haha.
