3 members of the classic mark2 lineup..singer Ian Gillan bassist Roger glover and drummer Ian paice..still performing after there first release 1970s in rock the launch of hard rock.
As a number one Purple fan i'll say you'll have a lot to cover. I would day, Child in Time is a must and probably the best song they've ever written in my personal opinion. You should also check 'Concerto for Group and Orchestra', a classical/rock piece written by their original Hammond player Jon Lord (who sadly passed away back in 2012). Other interesting Deep cuts in my opinion are: - April. - Solitaire. - Hell to Pay. - Sometimes i Feel Like Screaming. - Rat Bat Blue. - Gettin' Tigther. - A Gypsy's Kiss. - Mandrake Root. Covers they did from other artists(that are interesting): - Hey Joe. - Kentucky Woman. - River Deep, Mountain High. - Help. - Prelude: Happiness.
Don Airey has been playing keyboards since 2004? I think. Simon McBride is the new guitar player - he played on some of the singer's solo stuff and came in after Steve Morse (there since 1996) left the band due to his wife's illness
For older Deep Purple albums I recommend In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head and Made In Japan
All lineups and projects in the tree of Deep Purple are amazing! This new album is gonna be a fun listen!

‘Child in time’ is a must.
One original member from the first years and that's Ian Paice on drums.
True but the early fist lineup was not the best or most famous. The mark 2 lineup with most of their best songs are with 3 members here.
More Purple please
