I noticed when you first tried to restart after fueling up, you pulled the "choke" lever towards yourself. The KLR actually has an enricher, not a choke, so you are making a flooding situation even worse. When hot, try starting without enriching, though a choke would probably cause similar problems. Having the float needle gunked up is not good, and the filter should help a lot. What sort of gas milage have you been getting, and what are you getting now?

If I had choke engaged while hot, definitely a bad move you are right my friend. Gas mileage improved significantly after this video. 35 to 48mpg
