Personally, my take on why the Sibling is recorded by the Irminsul is because of a fake identity that fooled everyone, including Celestia, Nahida (Irminsul) and the Fatui, into thinking that she's not a Descender. But also to protect herself from the Abyss.
I think it has to do with identity. I think the Abyss takes advantage of people's preexisting wishes, to infect them with its own will, in a way. And those wishes define who you are, as a person. It's your ambition, something that's also closely related to Visions, by the way. Anyway, by calling herself the Abyss Princess, or whatever other nickname she used, back then, she was able to get recorded in the Irminsul with a fake identity, and not as Lumine. As such, the only vulnerable part of Lumine is a fake version of her identity. And I think the Traveler is going the exact same thing, by going by the name you give him. Well, unless you call him Aether, but I think it might go further than just a name being an identity.
About the Fatui, we might think that they're wearing a mask for the sake of the Commedia aesthetic, but I think it has to do with abandoning their past identity. It's the same with the Foul Legacy, Childe masks himself so that the Abyssal powers won't see him as Ajax, but as Childe. Dottore knows about things only Descenders should know because he masked himself from Irminsul. Zandik knows nothing, but The Doctor is a completely different identity.
All in all, I think there's a correlation of sorts between identity and vulnerability to Irminsul and the Abyss

This is an interesting hypothesis. Sounds very logical.
See I think this makes sense becasue theres a theory that what ever twin you play, the protag twin, seems to know something when you first encounter the other, the abyss twin, and is maybe keeping secrets. One secret being their identity theory as the traveller goes by the name we gave them, aka the account, but people dont know them as Aether / Lumine.

I mean, we know the abyss twin possibly completed one samasra cycle and that Dainsleif, a khanerian, remembers his time with the abyss twin who possibly went through a samsara cycle. Maybe the reason that they destroyed khaneria was because they couldn't restart the cycle with them around
Now that they featured "deceiving" in Genshin. The Abyss Twin might've tampered also the Irminsul just so everyone thinks shes not a descender. Maybe our Twin is already dead BUT she has to revive herself (since they introduced a puppetry also) 🤣

If this theory is true then it would make since why were not recorded. The abyss sibling traveled with Dainsleif but the Traveler is traveling with paimon. I think later in the story Paimon might find out about who she really is and save the Traveler from Dainsleif and Irminsul. Paimon as we know her may be recorded by Irminsul but that doesn't mean it knows the real her. Focolor was able to decieve Irminsul but having Furina play as her so who's to say Paimon is not the same

I’ve always thought about this cause no one in Teyvat knows who Paimon is nor what she is, yet she’s affected by Irminsul. And she so conveniently found the traveler when they first arrived in Teyvat.
Doesn't exactly make sense, because nobody knows who Paimon is. So Dainsleif's experience with Paimon is just as much as his experience with the Traveler. If he has since recorded Paimon into the Irminsul, then why hasn't he recorded the Traveler based off of the same experiences?
@@THExJMC I am not one hundred percent on this theory but maybe its because Dainsleif needs more information. Remember that the traveler does not use his real name when talking with people, he uses the name we give him as a cover. We know that despite the name we picked Aether/Lumine will always address each other as Aether/Lumine. The traveler is constantly hiding information from both the player and Everyone in tevat besides Paimon. Maybe the reason the abyss sibling feels betrayed is because they told dainsleif the truth about them and because of that He recorded them in irminsul which now is possibly trapping them in the system of tevat
@@jdblue9460 Trapped them in what way though? I'm quite sure Lumine can leave Teyvat with Aether if she wanted to, but she has some other goal that she must accomplish first. There are also plenty of people recorded in Irminsul that seem to be able to come and go from Teyvat as they please.
Then the separation of the twins might have to do something with the end of their own journey. Twins having arrived to Teyvat during cataclysm have decided to leave Teyvat, but failed due to the sustainer seemingly wanting to use them to save Teyvat. This could be their own celestial identities that they are not aware of except the sustainer. Samsara cycles are likely to be created by the Heavenly Principles to prevent the end of Teyvat, which would be the cataclysm taking over Teyvat. The game constantly tries to imply that the twins are 'fated' to change this world. Maybe Dainsleif himself has the power to maintain these samsara cycles in order to maintain Teyvat's ongoing presence, or trying to take advantage of the cycles created by the other celestial beings. The Heavenly Principles isn't likely since it has lost most of its power in the game. Dainsleif not contributing in the war during cataclysm might also mean that he's trying to see the end of the current twin's journey in that cycle.

Dain having to search his memory means that he doesn't seem to be able to visit Irminsul directly like nahida despite being the bough keeper... He goes on site to remember... Does this just make him a leyline outcrop in human form? 😂 A blossom of revelation? And thats why his arm is blue? And why the caribet quest felt so real for the traveller because just like the leyline outcrops the enemy is very real. You even get enemy droppings 😂 Anyhow, great vid! Keep it up bane!

If Dianeslief was a part of the irminsul itself, would the traveler you pick’s memories be in there as well? Cause dainsleif has already been on journeys with us, there for irrminsul should have information on us cause he has information on us

We know from the Narzissenkreuz Ordo quests that being classified as a Descender requires one to possess a will that rivals the world. Not all who arrive from outside Teyvat are classified as Descenders.

This is a really great theory! i think you're onto something and I definitely learned something new. Dainsleif is called the bough keeper as in the keeper of the bough of irminsul, so I can totally see this being true and you had be convinced when you mentioned Nahida's voiceline about the sibling's journey becoming fuzzy (likely when dain and the sibling separated).
I think a question I would ask in this case is why record the sibling in the irminsul in the first place? maybe dain recorded the sibling intentionally, which could also be part of his "betrayal"? perhaps he tried to save the sibling by recording them in the irminsul? so many questions...
There's a really nice theory video about how dain is the third descender's human remains by MyNameForNow-- kinda like how furina is the human remains of focalors. at first i was very skeptical, but it makes sense especially if we take your ideas and apply them to that idea. Maybe the third descender was put into the irminsul, or they are the irminsul-- after all trees are dead gods in Teyvat. and what if the human remains of the third descender is dain, who has an inherent connection to the irminsul like you explained (so well).

One minor correction. Not anything outside of Teyvat is a Descender. If it was, the ln the whale wpild be the fifth. To be a Descender you need to have the power to challenge the world...whatever that means.

However, if that were the case, the traveler's twin's memories would also have to be implanted. Saying that the traveler is not a descender is a very far stretch.

If you look at Scaramouche wrists and the traveler, they have the same glowing balls, like a ball jointed doll or… puppet. I think Aether is a puppet created to be like the twin (like how Raidon made Scaramouche) but Lumine wanted Aether to experience the world she knew and loved, so he will understand her reasons for being so angry. All the loved ones and experiences needed to be had otherwise she can’t justify it to him. Take a look side by side of Saramouche and Aether to see the balls at the wrists like a doll or puppet.
While that is an interesting deduction, i think its kinda just part of his gloves. Also, we have to remember that Aether is actually canon traveler so if anybody could be a puppet it could prolly only be Lumine

i don't think dain is the irminsul, if you said dain is a "part" of irminsul then probably. Each branch of irminsul is one cycle or one samsara or one timeline whatever you name it, and dain in every branch is different and those dains have to protect or rescue something on the branch. “Defeat me. Command me to step aside. Show me that you're worthier than I to rescue her.” Who is "her" ? what ever it is, if she failed to get rescued, something sinister will happens like potentially destroy the entire irminsul, because it's his duty as a bough keeper. with that said, maybe paimon also a bough keeper like dain

Or maybe Lumine is the one that dain needs to defeat in order to rescue whatever is "her" he said which is something else entirely. The reason why they got apart by the end of Lumine's journey is because dain needs to protect something while lumine needs to destroy something.
