My perspective on life is that we’re given this singular opportunity to be alive and do something. You’ve got 70-80 years to do something wild. Treat life like a game. Spend your life trying to accomplish something big. If you need meaning or purpose, do something that will have a lasting positive impact on humanity.

I understand how you feel. Sometimes, I feel the same way. I think this is somewhat intrinsic to delayed gratification behaviors. When the reinforcement or reward associated with a behavior is not immediately realized, it can cause extinction or questioning of why the behavior is important. In my experience, some of the most important milestones require significant time and effort to achieve. Accomplishments like completing school or securing a high-level position at work are typically the most meaningful and imbue me with a sense of confidence, which I carry with me to accomplish more. This type of momentum is powerful. I don't identify with religion very much, but faith is an important element of life. Sometimes, you must suspend your empirically observing mind to aim for something higher. You don't truly know what a better life or situation is without experiencing it. Good luck to you, brother.

I’ve felt the same way. I just have no energy. I realized that I’ve been overstimulated and burnt out and in a shut down survival state response my whole life. You might feel a lot better if you could really get away for a while and like go camping or something. It’s never that easy but maybe just bring up to the right people and you can do it with some friends? It feels like a sad thing that there’s no purpose to life when you have no energy and feel cut off from everything around you, but when you have high energy and feel larger than yourself it is a wonderful thing probably that there’s no meaning to life. It can just be whatever you want it to be. It really is probably you are in a very incompatible and unsupportive environment, and it will just take time and clarity to see how to navigate that in a way where you get the best of it. That’s been the case for me. People can love us and still be incapable of supporting us. Parents have kids before they’ve figured out life for themselves, and so they aren’t able to pass on any wisdom to their kids, and now the generations are dealing with such vastly different circumstances due to technology, that parents have no idea how to support their kids. You should have mentors modeling for you how to meet your needs and stay grounded, but instead they are giving you shitty medication and can’t even understand how you feel even though they’ve had the best opportunity in the world to get to know you. Just try to slow down and be more whimsical and random, and like, go for walks and make videos, and listen to a song you usually wouldn’t listen to, and stuff like that. Just explore and try to see if you’re over stimulating yourself or intentionally distracting yourself or draining your energy in any way. Don’t overstimulate your brain and you might start to get some emotions back. You will also be aware of the things that cause you to shut down, like maybe toxic behaviors from people, repressed feelings, or hating certain environments something. Sorry it just sucks that you feel this way. I felt that way and still struggle with those feelings, and I just wish I could help people but all I can do is yap. But keep making videos. You are helping people by doing that.

Creativity is the savior - by creating, not just mindlessly consuming, you get the real satisfaction of life, love towards...yourself and the world, the actual reality, far different than making money, so one can consume... Emotionality gets build with art, creativity, imagination... Gives another type of purpose of life... Just like a song can get you moving, you know? I think you have great potential towards writing man, keep it up, I really think your soul can find its place - just give it a chance

Great post. When I started writing, at around 17, all my emotions were stirred, plus my intellect. Also listening to music - these two things saved my life imo. When Freud talked about libido he wasnt just talking about sex. He meant libido was behind all kinds of desire: love and sex, the need to create, art, dancing, architecture etc.

    • @skullnex
      @skullnex 9 дней назад +1

@johnryan3913 Absolutely... My story is similar. If music, art were not there for me...I don't know what would have resulted from me haha. It's so easy for a girl to go to the mediocre seeking approval path. And not only for a girl! Helped me sort out my purpose, emotionality, and beliefs. And oh, yes, that libido thing - so right - it's such an understated topic, people understated it very plainly. It's the will to go after things, the will to live! I'm studying architecture right now - oh god, if this passion to live wasn't with me, I would have been fucked xd

There are also other things about your emotions. For example, you may be uncontiously supressing them as a defensive reaction (see sociopahts). However, the fact, that you feel down, definetly shows that you are capable of feeling emotions. They are just sort of messed up for now. I wish you to find a person who can help you bring them in order. Another advise: try to picture, what you would like your life to look like in 5, 10 anr 20 years from now. Do this every day, this helps to set goals and create a vision of a direction for you to go. Another thought I got while listening: after you die, one of the most meaningfull things that could be left behind are children. As weird as it sounds, they shall forever carry and pass on a piece of you, and their successful life and future means your life was not for nothing.

I do believe you are understanding your Autism is different and making you feel different to other people who don't have ASD. For those who don't have it they can sometimes think those who do are weird and/or strange as they do not have the same emotions as themselves. You may feel something is missing because you can see how others react to yourself and you may wonder why they treat you different to their other mates.
Many people do not understand Autism and just see it as weirdness, they might pick on them, call them names or even bully them. They do that because they haven't the ability to talk to and find out how Autistic people tick. We are just the same as them in every other way, we just think and act a bit differently. I know as we grow older and leave school behind us we can get along better channelling out positivities into something we enjoy doing, whether it is at work or play.
I understand you because I was like you when your age because I too have ASD. We don't grow out of it but we learn to accept and use it to our advantage. You can be happy and enjoy life just like anyone else. It may be now or it may be later. You will have such a lot of skills that others don't, we are all different and all need to respect each other for what we and they have.
    👍🖖

this is correct, i've been thinking like this but I have a very loving family and they make it hard for me to really act on this feeling which makes me just live to be with them. Later in life when I don't have them i'm going to be in the same situation as you most likely, so I'm going to try and create some fantastic music because its sounds fun. And I think thats about all you can do, is to find something fulfilling, thats all your going to have in the end, is the feeling of fulfillment.

I can relate to some of what you're saying and have felt that way my entire life. Today, I happened to be reading a book that I bought before you were born, called "The Power of Intention" by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. It's a self help book, and it has some useful info that would be good to put into practice. At least while reading it, it puts you in a better emotional place. I don't know if I'll actually put in the work to change, but perhaps self-help stuff is something you may want to study and work on. Sorry to hear about your lack of feeling over your pets. I tend to care much more about animals than people, though the death of my family was really painful and still is.

Also, you might find it enjoyable to read some philosophy books. I’d start with existential philosophy or Ancient Greek philosophy (Aristotle, the Stoics etc). They deal with these topics and questions and you will find that many people even thousands of years ago had the same feelings and thoughts you’re having which might help you

I don't think this is true at all. Going to college for the education means decades of debt. A prosperous country,? For whom? Not young men and boys? Only for the wealthy, and wealth is a dead end in a spiritually bankrupt society! What kind of social lives do they have? They grow up on gaming and porn, not saying Idgiot does but there is an emptiness at the center of our culture, and a poor public education system. Adolescence is an endless "Waiting for Godot" desert.
Where is satisfaction? Peace? How did we hand it all over to a fascist?!

With a fascist elected into power and an undereducated Gen Z, what does purpose even mean in this context? Are the dimwitted cynical billionaires happy? No, they just want More and More! It is a mockery of a community! I think Idgiot knows It won't satisfy, or feel good. Emptiness, and going to school, to understand yourself and the world, will turn into decades of debt! And we have a fascist government now, through a con-n-chief, a grifter.
What have we gotten ourselves into, here!?!

What you are experiencing is known as nihilism or an existential crisis. The positive side is that you still have some desires, which indicates that you are in a good state of mind. There’s nothing wrong with having desires; while they may not bring lasting happiness, they can provide moments of temporary joy. That, in essence, is the point of life-exploring your unique subjective experience because you, like everyone else, are truly one of a kind.
As you approach adulthood, keep in mind that once you turn 18, you’ll need to take responsibility for securing your own place to live and finding a job. If you choose to go to university, you might get an extension of support, but ultimately, you’ll need to stand on your own. At that point, your focus might shift from contemplating life’s purpose to meeting the demands of survival and independence.
To maintain my state of mind, I rely on specific supplements:
Omega-3 (one capsule, morning and evening, with food).
Vitamin D and K2 (one capsule, morning and evening, with food).
Ashwagandha (one capsule, morning and evening, with food).
Vitamin B complex and Magnesium (as directed above).
These supplements help me stay mentally balanced. You might feel a little foggy when you first start taking them, but over time, you’ll notice an improved sense of well-being. It’s like feeling high, but the effect lasts all day and comes without the usual drawbacks.
One important note: avoid multivitamins-they’re generally not effective and often contain low-quality ingredients. Go with Nutricost the brand.

Everything everyone does is for nothing in the grand scheme of things. Most people don’t even know what their great grandfather did or who he was. In that’s 3 generations. Eventually everybody is forgotten and all you’ve done and created will sooner or later be gone. Heck the whole earth will be gone and some point.
So this statement is so futile and useless. It’s all about feeling good in the moment. Being good in the moment! It’s really simple! Accept that everything is futile and that you need to feel good and help others to feel good.

You'll get there, I think. You have a very good way with words, I suppose? I mean, you express your meaning very well, I think everyone is very different in some way and I don't think most of what you described was 100% bad, you know? It's just another way of viewing things, or a differ in things your more drawn to, maybe, but in the end I don't think that makes much of a difference in a person. Not connecting to people is something which (for me, atleast) has come and gone in my life (AND BY NO MEANS AM I EXPERIENCED ENOUGH IN LIFE TO SAY ANY OF THIS) and I think mostly it was myself allowing connection with other people? During really hard times I felt separated and alienated from everybody pretty much, but when I really believed in beauty in other people and myself, even, it became a lot better. For me, I know that I will lose connection in people again, or it's very likely, and I will start to feel alone again, but I also know that I'll probably get out of that eventually, and feel the same way I do now. I feel like none of us have someone who we can connect to 100%, none of us have someone who is our perfect match or anything but when you look for similarities in yourself and other people, most likely you will find them and connection itself sometimes isn't even based on being remotely similar to the other person! Sometimes it's just that your good for each other in one way or the other, and sometimes it's just something you need to go through once.
I really am still not sure of a lot of things, but I hope this could maybe help you in some way- or not, I don't know!

Maybe instead of "weird" call it "different" .
Weird has a meaning like it's bad or something and can make you feel not good.
    Different is more neutral.
If you had been emotionally hurt or traumatised before I would think it could be a defence mechanism to protect you from sadness and getting hurt .
But you haven't described that and it's been since childhood so maybe it's the autism spectrum trait thing .
