Growing up in the south I always had good friends that were black who loved the car/truck scene growing up. Talking wheels, stereos speakers, exhaust, lights etc. We all went to car/truck shows and used to chill in grocery store parking lots via high school/college parking lot pimpin!

EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING you said is ABSOLUTELY true. Especially the part about folks not expecting me to step out of my truck. I have had police to wait for me in the parking lot to see who was driving. As soon as they see me and especially if I see them looking at my truck they pull up or roll down the window to start truck talk. Lol. Now for the little man complex thing that people say I don’t get that part because I’m 6’4 230 lol. I also catch people taking pics or posing for pics around my truck. Lmao. I was sitting in it one day at Walmart and a young dude and his girlfriend were taking pics of him posing. When I let the window down it scared the ……. Out of them. We had a laugh and I told him it was cool. 👍🏾😂🏆
Haha man those are all some cool stories man. Back when I had my motorcycle I went to dealer to pick it up. Two motorcycle cops were there and they were just staring at my truck. I thought they were about to get me for tint. When I get out he goes “you probably wonder why This cop is staring at me, he says that’s the most beautiful truck I’ve ever seen” 😂 I was definitely about to ish myself lol.

I'm 5'9 Vietnamese, and I'm tougher than any big lad. Even chase a group of thugs from looting a store. Lost count of how many times I piss off cops even though I was in the wrong. They never bother me though. This was before I even had a truck, much less lifted. Had an RV prior. I spent at least 25% of my drive off-road so a lifted truck was needed, especially in the Oregon mountain.
Your vehicle height also gives you an advantage over anyone creeping up.
Which increases safety and makes you a less likely target for crime.

I'm Vietnamese and I drive a 6" off-road lifted truck. People don't expect someone like me to get out of a big truck but they are not surprise. Vietnamese people have big heart and an even bigger drive.

You forgot to mention the hate on the road with people constantly cutting you off or not letting you merge. A lot more hate from the general public when you have a lifted truck. Then there are the people that start a conversation every time you stop somewhere. As a 17 year old female, I can say I don't think they expect me to get out of my 6" lifted tundra either.

I’m 17 fresh out of highschool saving for a truck. As soon as I get it I’m gunnu get it lifted maybe 4-6 inches I haven’t decided yet. This is a great video for me lol.

I am 56 and I drive 2004 f150 with a 8” lift, 37” tires with a nice sound system , I also drive a 63” chevy Impala with hydros…….😂😂😂 and a 2021 gladiator with 6” lift , 37” tires so I just drive what ever I like,, live and let live brother,,, keep trucking brother..

I just bought a black f150 with a 6inch lift mabye 2 weeks ago. I can’t even tell you the amount of times other lifted trucks have pulled up to me and tried to race, it’s crazy

Definitely agree with the "white boy truck" stereotype. I drive a firetruck red jeep with a 4-inch lift, ATR tires, black accents, -30% tint, muffler delete, & I'm a 5'7" black girl. Saying people are surprised is an understatement😂 But at the same time, let's be honest, "white boy truck" IS a look/style. When you hear the term, you already have a mental image. When I see one, I just know in my soul it's a white boy🤣

I’m thankful I haven’t ran into having to change a tire on my lifted truck..but even with a normal level vehicle, I’ve never had to.
This is a very interesting video! I agree with the "brands" thing. That seems to be very important to a lot of people. Interesting about the police too...now that I think about it, I haven't been pulled over since I've had my truck either...

This is funny, just got my 1st lifted truck last week and im mexican. All custom from the dealership, man do I get looks from other big truck people. The best part is that people move out of the way and don't ride up on me. Good video

yessir I have a 2018 gmc with 8in lift on 22x35 its definitely a unexpected looker when I hop out. but I work hard and I love trucks. and yeah cops never look at me

Well, I live in the Cleveland Ohio area, and I get most of my compliments from older people. Women more so than men! 🤷🏾♂️

Good stuff! Just got my Silverado lifted today. Not even sure if it qualifies as lifted I went with the 4 inch SST kit. It felt like every truck I passed on the way home had 12 wides and a 9 inch lift 🤦🏾♂️

No doubt you are spot on and so many stereotypes for so many different vehicles whether it is a dropped truck or car, a corvette(someone in midlife crisis), older hot rot, etc. Do not matter if you like it then that is what matters. I love lifted trucks and yours is awesome my friend. Absolutely love the whole setup, the lift, wheels, etc. Way to go.

Screw people and their opinions. Lifted trucks are great in traffic because you can see over the vehicle in front of you and you just have a better view and can see all around you so much better. I’m only 5’7 but driving lifted trucks is not compensating for me. My friend that got me into lifted trucks when I was in high schools is 6’4. I just like big trucks.

Everything you said is truth! I got a 2021 F150 4X4 5.0 V8 crew cab with 6 inch lift in antimatter blue color. Draws a lot of attention, especially from other trucks that aren't as nice thinking they got somethin to prove haha jealousy I guess. Couple times I've engaged and smok'em, but most of the time I ignore them and get a good laugh out of them being jealous and butt hurt. When I bought the truck I never thought people would act the way they do, but whatever. Also, it's true about the police as I get zero attention from them.

I lifted my truck around the same time you did yours and I agree with pretty much everything you say except people do not get out of my way I actually have people cut me off on purpose. Tons of compliments at gas stations and yes they don't expect me getting out of the truck either. Love it though. I will never own another truck without lifting it

As a black truck driver who is used to sitting higher up and having that bigger field of view looking out the windshield on a daily basis. I don’t see any other option besides a lifted truck for my daily driver. I feel super small and cramped driving anything else and being low to the road is really abnormal for me at this point. 🤷🏾♂️

LOL you are speaking truth today. I have two lifted trucks. I have a Yukon that's lifted and I have a new Silverado that's lifted 7 inches. I always get attention! Especially when Im pulling my boat, Jet ski, or dirt bikes, because those things we typically aren't into. I will say it is an Ice breaker and people feel comfortable to talk with you when they have things in common with you. I been invited to truck shows, fishing trips and trail riding for the dirt bikes. Then on the flip side of things, I have invited other black people to do those same things that have shown interest, so its a constant network for me.

That is a clean looking truck🤙 I've always been a V8 man but I recently got rid of my 2020 f150 5.0 and got a 3.5 2021 and I can tell you I love it a lot better!

I am 59, and yes have down sized my tires to 36s. And these days lifting is easy. Buy all you need. No need to make your own parts to fit the 44s.

Your right about cops not messing with you when your in a truck. I had a Chevy Impala 2018 and I always had cops looking at my sh!t. I just turned it in and got a ram 1500 in red and now cops don’t even bother looking in my direction and I’m Mexican tatted up so it gotta be the truck🤣🙏🏽

People have been lifting trucks since the 1970’s. I had a lifted truck in the 80’s 18” lift and 44” Hawgs. It was very common.
Today the lifts are smaller. But it’s a lot of fun.

I got my eye on a lifted 2015 GMC Kodiac Sierra with only 52k miles, and I don't know lifted trucks, but I'm on a mission to learn enough to know what's going on, so I can deal with issues

I'll learn to maintain it so I won't have to.
If it costs less, maybe I can buy a truck and hire someone to help me lift it🤔
My ford isn't lifted yet, but I do like the get out of my way point. I've had two people try to push me out of my lane cause they decide they want to cut me off or merge where I'm currently at. I simply don't move now, and when that happened they only go so far, then have to dive off into the shoulder or dirt. Makes me laugh. And same about cops. I speed a little when I had a japanese sports car im pulled over, I can go just as fast in a truck and they don't look my way.

People saying you can’t tow with a lifted F150 never drove an ecoboost haha. I’ve towed with my 15 2.7L ecoboost 1000+ miles with no issues running 4 inch lift and 35s. These trucks are beast!
