Thank you so much Magnar. We hardly ever used basic mode anyway. But there was a pitch wheel and there was a roll-knob in the '50' so flight-path could be altered without 'TCS-ing'.
Dear Capt. Magnar I am doing my ATR capt. transition from Pakistan International Airlines. I have learnt a lot from your videos. Request for All systems Tests videos if possible. Regards
Hello, a short question about AFCS: if F/D STBY is selected, the 'basic modes' become active. Pitch is then controlled by the pitch wheel. And as I understand the aircraft maintains heading. But can the pilot roll the aircraft/change the heading in basic mode with A/P engaged? Or do you have to use the TCS button? In Fokker 50 there was a 'roll-knob' for banking in basic mode but I don't see one in the ATR? Thanks and regards, Boy
As you described, the pitch is controlled with the pitch wheel. But depending on the bank angle of the aircraft when you engaged the basic mode, the mode will either be heading hold or roll hold (maintaining the current bank angle.) The only way to adjust roll in basic mode with AP engaged is to use the TCS and fly the aircraft manually until the desired roll is achieved.
The only gauge I didn't completely understand was the propeller %...I thought it would be a standard RPM measurement. Otherwise another awesome tutorial. Thanks Dad - Surry Virginia
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
