Better keep water out of those concrete cracks this winter, freezing will make them worse, at least get some concrete tape and tape it if you can't caulk it right now. Maybe use a butal tape, or just that red concrete tape, maybe cover the tape with a piece of wood or metal to keep the sun off it.
It takes less than 5 minutes to put on a safety harness. If you wear a safety harness for the inside of a full bin you can wear one for outside too. Use 2 lanyards and leap frog them.
Totally agree. I worked in steel mills with wood decked conveyors, and they were safer than that bin site. There are some huge railing gaps and that alone should be leverage wirh the contractors.
You need to have safety ropes and harness when you are moving around on to of the grain bins, so if you fall you don’t fall to your death. When I was on top of the grain silos in Bondurant Coop, or when I was working for Todd and Sargent building the silos, we wore harnesses and safety ropes. Only fools and people with a death wish don’t use them in the unsafe conditions DC was in!

Q: Instead of opening the bin door atop that massive tall bin all the time, Cole, can’t you wire an electric camera up there and mount on the inside so you can simply see it down in the control room???
That’s definitely my thought every time they’re doing this. Camera+floodlight and they should be set, no more climbing the shoddy binwork and putting DC’s life in danger. We love him way too much for something to happen
@@joshwagner5414 they make camera housings that can clean themselves. They also make infrared cameras that can see through the dust and see the 0.1° difference in temperature between the bean pile and give a very clear image even if the air is full of dust.
@@IAintScaredOfNoGhost they don’t need a camera. Tsg makes a monitoring system that goes to your phone. Just expensive to rig anything in an overhead bin. They also have things that go on the outside of the bin and have a flap on the inside to show when it’s at that level or not
Man that bin is unsafe. Get some cameras or something in there for your grain checking. There has got to be an inexpensive way to keep you off the top of that.
Putting a camera system in that bin would make Daddy Corn Star “Simply Safe” I wonder if they have access to something like that………? I think the system is already in the corvette shack
@@MisterEC1 While a camera isn't a bad idea in concept, I wouldn't recommend any camera not specifically designed for use in an area where there's a high risk of dust explosions, like inside a grain bin or elevator. Either that or bulldoze the whole thing. I think you guys are pretty close to that. Not sure how they screwed up the bin pads as well. They looked pretty good going in.
DC If you can find part of the gantry that is sound, get a cable on it and wear a harness. You can get a big clip that is no trouble to take on and off the rails as you move over the walkways, too. You are a film star now👍😁. Goes for all three of you. Stephen.

Cole, the soil can only take so much lime. It takes years, so don’t think you can dump tons of lime on and think you’re good. Plan it out, start applying and see where it takes or doesn’t. We run Ohio ground and ph plays a major part in soil health.
Wow, I took soil science in college and it was a tough class! Lots and lots of chemistry. We also took soil samples and tested them for ph balance and mineral contents it is quite an art to get everything all balanced out! You are correct, it can take a few years to fix it and then you need to keep it up, because the crops can take the nutrients right back out of the soil! But the crops can show a huge difference in their yield. Thanks for sharing all of this, I had not thought about it in quite a few years.
I love watching you guys. You’ve got a beautiful farm. Please maybe plant some fruit trees near the house. We need bees. Let your kids see some birds and butterflies. The old timers must have had a vegetable patch and flowers. Bees we need bees X
You guys should wear safety harnesses when at the bin site like Daddy CS was up on top of the bin. I wear safety harness when i tear down 40' tall pallet racking all over the country. I was shaking my head when your dad filming walking across the bins. all it take is one mistake and that is it.
Easiest way to back drag those tracks away is get some chain link fence and pipe or 2x4 by like 8 or 10ft screw them down into the fence and put 2 pull chains, cables, or rope to pull behind a truck and then put some weights on the back like old cinder blocks
The concrete pad that supports the pit is probably failing as well. I would be suspect of all concrete work, the columns that support the overhead loadout. You have video proof of how little reinforcing rod was used. How are the supports that hold the bin top cross conveyor? You also need some bin level indicators for the overhead loadout bin.
Daddy Cornstar, love so much, please, PLEASE be careful on those bins that don't have their railing where they should, nor are they mounted correctly to even begin to project a picture of safety to us viewers! As I've said before, living in the country requires work that can be dangerous, but those railings are way beyond dangerous! Be safe! K.
I would have planted a winter crop, like turnips and or peas if possible. It adds roots to the soil during winter time plus they have added benefits which in turn would benefit the soybeans and corn during summer time👍🏼💪🏼
Daddy Cornstar, I get the heebie geebies when you're up that high. What a sloppy dangerous mess. Maybe think about getting some cables to click/attach onto while you're up there. For that matter, all of you. Please stay safe! and take that company for every dime they have!!!
You could do some cameras in the top of the bins with some good size LEDs and use that to check how much is in the bins without going up on top to check. Maybe even just some cameras from simply safe so that you can check it on your phone or get a monitor in the small shed that is connected. It would at least save you a few trips up and down the bins. Love your videos Cole! Love to see the progression of the farm over the years. It is so amazing the transformation
Daddy c you need to get a wireless security camera mounted inside that bin so you don’t need to g up there to check how full it is. Someone could get hurt falling up there. You know what your farm filming every thing will come in handy when it is time to settle up. I always tell customers to photo and video everything because you never know.
Replace the fuel sending unit in the JCB. That will take care of the dumb alarm. When the fuel level circuit is open, it shows full on the gauge and throws an alarm. If the sending unit is shorted, it goes to empty on the gauge and will also throw an alarm. Yours apparently has an open circuit when it is full, so it seems like it's warning you that your tank is full. I've had to replace quite a few of those sending units for that issue. It's easy to do as long as the fuel tank is below a half tank. Remove the engine oil filter, disconnect the sending unit connector and fuel lines, replace and reassemble the machine.
You guys might like to consider WELDING attachments to clip safety harnesses as you make your way up, and around the bins. An effort yes, but if it saves one of, if not all of your lives going forward then it most certainly is worth the hassle. One of you slips up top and goes over the edge that's it, no coming back from a fall from that height, so please consider the idea! Obviously you want a harness that won't break your neck, or choke you if you do go over the side!
That bin is an OSHA nightmare. There’s no way a credible company and engineer signed off on that. You couldn’t get me to go on that without a safety harness. But with some of those welds they would probably fail with any weight on them. God Bless you cornstars
I can remember doing soil samples for my dad in late 50’s. Dad always put on the ground what it needed. Have your ever heard of farmers eating dirt to test soil. My dad did do that.
Hey Cornstar family, I’m currently working in a auto manufacturing plant in the suburbs outside of Detroit. I’D film my workday but it’d be me just sitting around watching Cole the Conrnstar, Junk yard Digs, ghost town living... in between occasionally processing units ( Saturday slow O.T. Also got thinking, like your jacket I have to wear a High Vis vest for the area I work in the factory ( aiming the headlights, then driving the unit 10yds to dyno test)... might there be other high vis gear for dogs that might be of assistance to y’all? Could be a fun project to make little dog parks at each house to stash the pooches in a pinch... I dunno just tryin to be helpful. D.C. you climbing around on them bins gives me more anxiety than watchin TVR Exploring crawl through sketchy 100 year old abandoned mines...! You left us hanging about DC up on the ledge. He need a safety belt up there. It's too dangerous and the shoddy building and foundation needs to be addressed ASAP before something bad and very costly happens. You have been working so long on building a case Cole. I hope your family can see this resolved soon. Please be careful.
As a guy who works with CCTV systems, I would suggest putting cameras inside the bins to have a visual of the content levels when needed. You don’t need recordings, just a live view so it would be a very cheap solution. Why climb to the top a few times a day when technology will keep you safe from the precarious trek?
*DC, invest in a HARNESS and rope. Then USE it EVERY time you, climb up atop those bins. DC your life is not worth loosing, due to the neglect done by those contractors. COLE, Please get a dog harness and secure the pup to the seatbelt. This is about SAFETY for pup and driver. Pups can get under foot and next minute CRASH. Also use the pup Harness with a dog lead when pup is outside amongst all the different machines. The Lab is older so has already learned to stay clear. But Puppy has no idea until they are over the age of 18 months. So BASIC TRAINING is required ASAP. WE the people do NOT want to hear of another puppy death.*

After that super expensive soil correction....they focused on liquid slurry...we also had 150 head of cattle. Crops did well after liquid slurry. Hope this helps
I was the middle son....i ran the feed cart...and pressure washer in the parlour. We had a 210 white articulate. 180 alice etc...we had a big blue silo for high yield milk. Do lots of praying God likes that. Enjoy every minute with your mom n dad n brother. Make it count.

That bin is an OSHA nightmare. There’s no way a credible company and engineer signed off on that. You couldn’t get me to go on that without a safety harness. But with some of those welds they would probably fail with any weight on them. God Bless you cornstars
That puppy........so cute.😍😍
a shame they didn't name her pancake.
@@ADSC2006 You are cold.
I can remember doing soil samples for my dad in late 50’s. Dad always put on the ground what it needed. Have your ever heard of farmers eating dirt to test soil. My dad did do that.
The pup is incredibly cute.
They all were 😔
Hey Cornstar family,
I’m currently working in a auto manufacturing plant in the suburbs outside of Detroit. I’D film my workday but it’d be me just sitting around watching Cole the Conrnstar, Junk yard Digs, ghost town living... in between occasionally processing units ( Saturday slow O.T. Day )
Anyhow, some of my friends in the city have blue light blinking collars for theirs pups (guess the blue catches he the eye best).
Thank for the entertainment, I’m rooting for you guys in all that you do!
Did you guys have any concrete testing done when they were pouring the bin foundations? Any air or slump tests?
Love them ole Detroit's that was what was in a lot of heavy equipment and trks when I started out ty for adventure man it gets cold up there im ole fla boy god bless you guys
just watching daddy c climb to check those bins makes me hold my breath they need to be fixed soon. god bless
Have a good night Cole and family
Love the windshield wiper!!! Thank you for the laugh!
DC! You need a safety harness up on top of that bin. Please, be careful 🙏
Cole, you need to put a scale guide and record the movement of the cracks. then have a concrete testing lab take cores to determine the actual strength of the concrete.
That’s some crazy construction engineering. I’m scratching my head
As you raise your Ph your your NPK will go up. A little, but numbers improve. Not a farmer but azomite has a good mix of micronutrients maybee for your lawn!
Soil samples for the lawn they have a sale at soil savvy now!
That’s so cool you chose abstaince for your puppy rotten soyben situation potential thing you think might whatever. Take care have fun! God bless you too.
DC you are scaring me up on that bin
I like the haircut, Cole!!!
Daddy cornstar it was the concrete that was used in making that bin pad it wasn’t tested for how much weight it was going to be on top of it that’s why it’s cracking like that
I thought you had a custom CornStar farms fuel/greaze/air trailer? 09:50
THE CRACKS IN THE BASE FOR THE BIN'S.... BAZAAR!!! NEVER EVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!!!!! THE BIN/STORAGE CORPORATION IS GOING THE BUY IT ALL AND BUILD A SYSTEM THAT'S ENGINEERED AND BUILT CORRECTLY. THE CONTRACTOR HAVE BACK GROUND CHECKS BEFORE THE CONTRACTOR IS ALLOWED ON YOUR PROPERTY.
My mom n dad hired a company to correct the soil on several fields....HUGE $. The yields were astronomical....BUT THEY WERE BROKE.
We had 600 acre farm...nothing like you....but they farmed for almost 30 years. My dad passed...things changed.
My parents threw money everywhere...we had lots of toys. We constantly went to farm shows.
My parents did very well.
Cole you seem smart....make sure $$$ going out comes back....
Do lots of praying God likes that. Enjoy every minute with your mom n dad n brother. Make it count.
I see you use palits a lot I would sagest invest in some new/ used palit racking and with the new spraer in the mix I would sagest geting 4 more water tanks plumb them togather with 4 inch lines and run a 4 to 2inch line to the tanks on the sprayer traler and run a small pump to fill them in 20 min in stead of overnight so a lot of good run days
Y'all need to wear headset Go-pros or something similar!!! Keep your hands free to hold railings!!!!!!! Blessings for an amazing winter to take care of stuff!!
The puppy is so cute! I think I missed it's introduction
Looks like the bin sit could be a site for Fear Factor, unfortunately.
Hi Ellie ! 💝
Daddy cornstar looks livid. I don't blame you a bit. Had similar quality from our auction company. It seems if they are not watched 24/7 all heck breaks loose.
Leroy, love the cabover!
I am so worried and got upset watching this. Daddy Cornstar please do not climb on top of that unsafe and poorly designed bin structure. I care about you and want you to stay safe!
DONT BELIEVE IT
My heart rate while DC was on top of that bin 🚀
Those bins are a hazard.
Also buy some good shelving. Tear drop is a great brand. They make the shelving as high as you want.
1:07 is where you see the baby car seat, baby cornstar is coming soon.
Thanks Cole. Learned something
Need to put some cheap cameras on those bins! I suggest some Ubiquiti Unifi cameras, all you'll need to run is a single CAT5 they're PoE!
Please, please, please bring back the bango music for some of the intros. My son loves dancing to it…
Just curious about Summer and Nave , their both to young to retire (we miss both of them)
Where are the girls at is what I’m wondering
They are both doing great!
Not only is the access to the bin unsafe but you really should have have fall protection on and have a spotter.
14:13 I would be scared of EVERY weld on those silos. Be extra careful DC
Guys looking at this video- up on the new bins, I know you are going through some legal stuff but might be a good idea to put none skid on that spot PAPa cornstar climbed over. Plus makes some railing on top that bin. I’d hate to read about some accident. Stay safe!!!!
Hey I think maybe daddy cornstar is getting a little older to be doing the top of bins, he sounded pretty windy up there! You wouldn’t want to lose him when things are going so well!🙏👍👌
Stop being so dramatic….
He’s fine.
Nothing wrong with being winded lololol.
Heaven forbid someone do a little exercise.
70 years olds are running marathons.
He will survive
Lose him? How would they lose him? He'd be easy to find.
I can see a lot of Bin rework coming up in your near future and I sure hope they do a hell of a lot better job especially on top of your dad is climbing up there he needs safety harnesses
Daddy Cornstar, I was terrified while you were walking and jumping up there. 😟
