On a night in December 2005, my gf and I were laying in bed when this song randomly came on the radio station. From the first line, we both felt something happen..can't explain it..words aren't sufficient. But she asked me "WTF just happened?" I had no answer..just goosebumps. We later decided that was our souls bonding. She will always be my soul mate..this song made us aware of it intensely.
This song is about a woman, being her, trying to love someone who doesn’t know their worth and are unhappy with themselves. So she’s telling him I love you but I can’t fix you, I gotta let you go. Although she loves him and he doesn’t realize it and doesn’t recognize because he’s so stuck in what he’s going through. She says “I think it’s strange you never knew” meaning how much she loved him and would’ve done anything for him and that relationship, but it was too much and she couldn’t heal him. It’s a beautiful timeless song that reminds me of my childhood and nostalgia it brings. Beautiful song! Great reaction!

Makes me miss a woman that I was head over heels for, but not confident enough to go for it, and she ended up with someone else. (Which turned into a very unhappy marriage for her). I had already married someoone else by then. I still think about her.

A wonderful song! I missed it totally, when it came out. Discovered it only a few years ago.
Their only commercial hit, but they have a ton great songs on the 3 albums they made in the 90's. Some good ones on their 4th album also.
