    sadly, i get fully depressed hearing this song rather than being touched in a bittersweet way, but everyone reacts to music in different ways. it’s amazing how much of a universal language music is.

    • @bella-hi2ii
      @bella-hi2ii 2 года назад +421

    • @Surre4LSoto
      @Surre4LSoto 2 года назад +306

      Usually that’s because the first time you made a connection with the song you were going through something hard or feeling depressed. Music can elicit memories and emotions out of you like pavlov and his dogs. Over time I can change my relationship with a song though, if I connect to it again in a different frame of mind. I hope you’ll be able to do that with this song

    To me when she says, "Some where in these eyes I'm on your side."
    It makes me think of somebody who is so done with a person that they have to cut them off and be stern when they meet up, but deep inside they still care about them. They just know they can't afford to be vulnerable with them like they used to. Which is a bitter sweet thing.

    A beautiful summer night after highschool graduation. Had some friends going away for college and others simply moving away. I went to the military a few months later. But that one night was our last truly together young and dumb. We partied hard, tripping on great shroomys. Knowing it’ll be our last time together like this. This song blasting in the background all of us just laying on the ground living in the moment. To be young with no care in the world man.

    At the lowest low of my depression, I was so completely numb and just an empty shell of a person and then one night, I found this song while listening to music on RUclips and I cried and cried and cried all night long… nothing had made me feel so deeply in such a long time and even now, I get emotional every single time I listen to it (which is why it is reserved for very special moments).

    i had just sat down in the train while it was raining, this song came on shuffle and the line "who will dry your eyes, when it falls apart"? came and i started tearing up. I had realized no one, it was me, i always dried my own eyes at night, it was me who held on tight late at night with my chest so heavy and my heart keeping things hidden from loved ones. I always have this sense of loneliness even if I am loved, it goes beyond understanding and it's just there.
    edit: today the sun was shining and the song came on again, well, I still felt sad! How unpleasant that even the sun did not comfort me today but worry not better days come! Thank you fellow human beings for the comments, let's hang in there together shall we!

Melancholy, bittersweet, almost yearning to go “home” (wherever that may be). The music has a beautiful melody that almost lets you feel the humanity in you and others come to life a bit more. It’s the in between of neither sadness nor happiness.. a place I find myself most days.

    I found this song deep into my depression in 2016. Six years later in 2022 I had the privilege of listening to it live in a crowd less than 80. Such a life changing experience❤

    This song is a masterpiece and just plain beautiful. It evitates you and takes you into a metaphysical spiritual state. Which makes you get into a nostalgic state while at the same time being in the present, in a bittersweet state of being/ making you see and question life, its mysteries, its meaning, and its beauty.

    One of my favorite songs, when I feel compressed, anxious, and I listen to this song it feels like a release, like it’s an outlet. I cry a little every time but I feel way lighter immediately after.

    I love this, for the cover of the album you have to see depression as something that can sometimes be bitter sweet In many ways but to suffer deeply with depression it can feel like an absolute void of bleak emptiness and I feel they portrayed it perfectly with the cover and your father nailed it with his discreption. you should also give wishes a try by them

    I always loved how the album cover was very reminiscent of Mark Rothko’s paintings. That and Depression Cherry being symbolic of grief as a color

We were so suprised when he passes away. You don't know how beautiful is to see you enjoying this tunes with your father. It brings me so many memories. Thank you
