I've done some work at her Ranch before . She is very nice. First time I ever saw a yurt was at the ranch. Right before y2k she had an underground house built. Once somebody called the store I was working at and order a $2,000 bar b que grill for her and had me deliver it to her for her birthday. I was instructed to get her a birthday card and take it to her. When I got there I unloaded it and set it up in the back and wished her a happy birthday. She giggled and said thank you. When I got home I told my girlfriend and she looked her birthday day up. It wasn't even close to being her birthday day. Shees, rich people. I have about a dozen Shirley stories. All good.

He mentioned, when we arrived, how he ended up buying this property and turning into a B& B. He also mentioned that there where not many restaurants in town and decided to offer, word of mouth, a sorta speak easy exclusive dinning for small groups, besides running his small B& B. He then mentioned that Shirley McClain was one of his guests with 4 others. "She was simply delightful along with her friends." is what he said. My stay had many synchronicity's while exploring New Mexico & no doubt since New Mexico is know as: "The Land of Enchantment" ;)

I told her or suggested to her that we could do hooks on the side of the fireplace like you see in the old westerns with pots hanging off of them and that would warm up and create humidity. I told her that would be so much cheaper than putting in these $4,000+ inserts. She stopped me right there and said to me, "did I ask you how much it would cost? I want them this way." And I said was yes ma'am and did it. But remember she didn't say it in a mean way just in a, do what I asked way 😆
Just to go with that money is no object way. I saw her at a local movie theater one night as I was paying at the booth. She was at the concession stand and I walked up to her and said hey Shirley how's it going? She smiled and said hi and then the concession girl came with her big bucket of popcorn and told her it was something like $10. And she had a little girlish smile looked at me and goes, wow that's expensive. I told her yes but it's good and she said yes it is and grabbed her popcorn walked into her theater. None of the young people around there knew who she was. So they didn't realize that I knew $10 to her was nothing. But cool, she was watching a movie by herself in Santa Fe with no worries that anybody would disturb her.

I'm in my 50s now. In my 20s I learned about Chakras n metaphysics from Shirley. Recently I found out Out On A Limb , is also a movie of her trip to Peru. Saw the movie, loved it n now want to read that book again. Lastly I find out that Shirley has a book called The Camino. I had no idea what that meant but looked into it. I find out it's about this amazing hike in France and Spain. Then I find out there's a good movie about the journey called The Way , so I now ordered Shirleys Camino book and The Way movie haha. I would have never thought I'd still be learning all this great Spiritual stuff from Shirley all these years later . Wow. Thank you Shirley .

He was very critical of her. Later the girl found out he wasnt her dad at all. When she was 18 or 20 Shirley told her to go out and make her own living. Sachi was a really nice and polite girl but never got any favors from mom.

Santa Fe, Taos, Jemez, all of it! Albuquerque does have crime, but it is a progressive city with heavy emphasis on the arts. I have never loved a state so much ever. The air is definitely magical!

Over a year ago I did background work on a movie for Disney+ with her. Background is what they call extras in the film industry. The movie was called Noel, and both my mother and I got booked for a week on a set here in Georgia. I had no idea who the "famous people" were in this one, I often didn't before showing up for work. But she walked out the first time, she looked familiar. I'm gen x, so her big stuff was before my time. Within minutes I was waving like a nut trying to get my mom's attention across the set, silently screaming omg! when I finally recognized her. I never talked with her, even though I was close enough between a few scenes. All I could muster was to make eye contact and smile. Besides, background actors are asked not to engage with the actors. If I had known then that she was such an awakened spirit, I would've had to fight the urge to ask her to meditate with me! Later I told my mom that she should have recognized her before me, lol.

27years ago,I read her book [[Out on a Limb]. I had deep impression from her book,and I wrote leter to her,(I 'm japanese live in Osaka). After one month, I receive one leter from her. I supraized , and big joifull feeling surrounded all my body. I don't believe it.Surely famous actress of hollywood sended leter to me.Immediately I wrote thanks letter to her. Next year I resived leter from her again,that letter was invited her spiritual seminar, and I visited america,Los angels. .

My daughter knew more about her and would see her more often than I did. But, I have not been to that particular store too often. She's pretty down to earth actually from what I could gather.

Within minutes I was waving like a nut trying to get my mom's attention across the set, silently screaming omg! when I finally recognized her.
I never talked with her, even though I was close enough between a few scenes. All I could muster was to make eye contact and smile. Besides, background actors are asked not to engage with the actors.
If I had known then that she was such an awakened spirit, I would've had to fight the urge to ask her to meditate with me!
Later I told my mom that she should have recognized her before me, lol.

I wrote leter to her,(I 'm japanese live in Osaka).
After one month, I receive one leter from her.
I supraized , and big joifull feeling surrounded all my body.
I don't believe it.Surely famous actress of hollywood sended leter to
me.Immediately I wrote thanks letter to her.
Next year I resived leter from her again,that letter was invited her spiritual seminar,

After reading "Out on a Limb" in 1988 I travelled halfway around the world to see the thermal baths at Llocllapampa for myself. I found them exactly as described in her book. Spent 2 unforgettable nights there under the stars next to that gurgling sulphurous pool. I've now come full circle.

I used to live in Silver City and we were only a few minutes and several miles away from it. However I thought her place looked more like it was in northern NM from looking at the mountains.

There was a time in my youth when Shirley McLaine came up with the book Out on a Limb, translated into Portuguese as Minhas Vidas. Reading that book at the time felt like a life vest. I was very grateful for her because she gave me the opportunity to be in touch with the occult - something that I felt deprived of at the place where I found myself at the time.

I had the pleasure of shaking Ms. Maclaine hand. I live about 45 minutes from town. She was very nice to my little boy at the time. My daughter knew more about her and would see her more often than I did. But, I have not been to that particular store too often. She's pretty down to earth actually from what I could gather.
