Greetings from Scotland! When she sang this song, Diana was only 18yo! She is 20yo currently but I've been following her since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 4 octave range and it's increasing. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time!
Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) she dragged her to a bus stop with a broken collarbone and abandoned her, saying "Survive if you can" A passing relative took her in but because she cried constantly (naturally with a broken collarbone) she took her to the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. She was already winning every contest in Russia and other countries that she could get to. Then at 14yo Diana took part in an amazing Russian project "You're Super!" for abandoned/disadvantaged children (because Diana spent time in an orphanage) The 1st song she performed shocked the judges and audience so much, it went viral. She covered Tommie Proffitt's dark version of 'Can't help falling in love' that is why she stay's only in the chorus, because he got rid the rest of the lyrics and arranged this piece to be in the minor scale favoring darkness and desperation over Elvis's romance version.
Anyway you are not going to find another vocalist like Diana anywhere she is the best on what she does and she can do everything... pop, rock, R&B, Folk, Opera whatever her voice touches becomes next level.
Just a heads up the video you watched is a pirated version, she has the original on her own YT channel it does not cut so abruptly it has professional subtitles and the judges commentary.

Diana has a extremely rare voice type it is called dramatic contralto which is the lowest deepest darkest boys for a female, but she is able to extend her range into the higher octaves also. As a long-time Angelina Jordan fan, I am also (for about 6 years) a huge fan of Diana. There's always room in you heart for more love. It's worth giving some to Diana. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion.
