    This episode is really sad . I feel for robin. I was hospitalized in June of 2018 for my mental health & my symptoms then were out of control. The hospital isn't a fun place to be. They take all you're rights away . I 've been out of the hospital for two years and 6 months. I've been stable and I'm living on my own I work four days a week . Have a boyfriend and possibly looking into joining the fire co.

      If you think the hospital strips your freedom away to the point of harm you’re mistaken. Lol at best the hospital strips you of your freedom of locomotion. Other than that it’s fairly free.

    i understand why Dr. Charles did that to his daughter, the apartment speaks for itself, mouse traps and aluminium foil everywhere on everything, as someone who is mentally disabled myself i instantly recognized that her apartment looks like she is trying to prevent herself from harm or killing herself, i did something similar, but i was given a way out of that deep hole i was in, and it was the very person very much like Dr. Charles who helped me, i can see that he was impossibly hurt by doing that to his own daughter

      It ended up being that she had a tumor. It's a dangerous thing, her being treated with anti psychotics or whatever medication she was given instead of given chemotherapy. Also, I think he overstepped and legally in real life, he wouldn't have any say in the matter and they wouldn't have been able to her hold her unless she was a danger to herself and others which she wasn't.

      How do the aluminum foil and mouse traps help with that?
      If you’re not comfortable answering, that’s fine, you don’t have to tell me. I’m just curious since I’ve never heard of someone using it for that before

    I had an inkling from the first moment she stepped on set that there would be an arc as this. The way she controls, attempted to control her father with threats of distancing herself. Never cared for her character's Immature behavior, when exhibited in adults is usually the subject of an organic issue. I am very sympathetic with this issue. I just hope they are not using this to push the actress off of the show. People do work (such as her father) with organic disorders and leave productive lives.

  • @alicehaslonghair

    All of these comments focus on how difficult it must be on Dr Charles, etc. If this weren't a tv show and there wasn't an investment in this character, I feel like reactions would be quite a bit different. It was not his place to steal her keys or invade her personal space nor was it his place to access her medical records or overstep when the treatment was not up to him. He dug the hole himself during her childhood years and sunk the hole further by his present day actions. Honestly, she should not be kept at this hospital at all and should be transferred for treatment at this point to avoid the control issue with her father. That's not to say she didn't need help, but it was not his place to administer it clinically.

    • @trinitylivingston1286
      @trinitylivingston1286 2 года назад +4

      Exactly, legally they wouldn't be able to keep her in a psych hold because she wasn't a danger to herself and others. Also, why she had developed psychosis was because of a tumor so whatever he did wasn't the reason why she had the psychosis.

    I was annoyed that he didn't trust Sarah to make the choice. He put himself in a bad situation. Dr Sarah Reeses knew she needed help, but also knew that Robin needed the control to ask for it herself.whichbwoild have made her more willing to participate and receive treatment. Something ironically Dr. Charles has Sarah to do. You are often blinded by your family like Dr. Charles was.

    I wanna feel for Dr. Charels here, but I've seen the episode and he massively oversteps here. His daughter was Resse's patient, and Resse was trying to get her to take ownership of her situation and agree to sign herself in to treatment. Dr. Charels obliterated that chance.

      That's what alot of people who are mentally unwell say. Especially when they are delusional and if he had let her go home, she could've hurt herself, so he was trying to make sure that she didn't try and kill herself. It's actually perfectly legal because in court they could say that she was a possible threat to herself.
