Working on keeping raw sewage and industrial waste out of the rivers is important to protecting not just the dolphins, but all the people who drink the water.
I would think the first step to helping the dolphins would be preventing raw sewage from being dumped in the river but I'm just a random ignorant internet asshole and my country shares the same do-nothing policy regarding people doing bad things to the environment.
When I was in my infant days these dolphins were easily visible in Calcutta. Now only near the confluence of the river these dolphins can be found. In Bengali these dolphins are called 'shushuk '. They are completely blind.
Why can't some of the living dolphin transferred to countries in where ther river water is un polluted, like Japan, Canada and Russia. This way we can make sure this species continue.....as it did all these thousands of years

We have to save them before they are gone, we have to save the river from pollution and we have to save fishes for the river dolphins for feeding.
