The Journey of Alaknanda River | Origins of GANGA: Part 1

- Опубликовано: 30 июн 2024
- Alaknanda is one of the two headstreams of the river Ganga / Ganges, the lifeline of India.
Other one is Bhagirathi, and a similar video about Bhagirathi can be watched here:
• The Journey of Alaknan...
-
QUICK NOTE: The photo of Rudraprayag shown in the video at 08:16 is actually of Devprayag. Had a little file management error, I guess. Sorry about that!
-
Like Ganga, Alaknanda has a massive influence in the region it flows around and has shaped the history and culture, as well as the terrain of this particular tract of Himalayas.
Alaknanda flows in the hilly region of Garhwal division for the entirety of its 195 km long course. It originates at the confluence of Satopanth and Bhagirath Kharak Glacier in high Himalayas close to Badrinath-Mana, meets with 4 major tributaries ahead creating four of the five Panch Prayag in the process. At the fifth one, Alaknanda meets Bhagirathi at Devprayag at the end of its course, the river ahead is called Ganga.
This video takes you on a journey from the source to the destination, with a lot more in between.
Enjoy!

Awesome video with so much of information in single source. We need entire series about Char Dham history and importance, journey of bhagirathi and all. Eagerly waiting, will promote this video as much as I can.
Extremely well made video brother and also really well researched. I have never seen this information in as much detail anywhere else till now. Keep up the great work!
Amazing work, Harshit! I can only imagine the hard work you’ve put in to this. Please keep making more!
Thanks!
The production values are truly world class here😍. I just love your visual style, and can't get enough of it, combining soft, fuzzy and colourful 3D visuals with remastered historical paintings, photos, maps and engravings.
This video however felt too dense, and pacing was a bit hard to follow (even if I'm already familiar with many of the mentioned places).
Overall, each and every second of this video is a testimony to the sheer hard work and research this must've taken. I really hope it gets the audience it deserves 🤩.
Thankyou very much!
Lakshit is right--amazing amount of knowledge in a short span of time 🕰️ due to unique visual style of presentation!
Wonderful knowledge, thanks
I just visited badrinath ji few days back. Must say what a beautiful presentation you have made. Wish could watch this video before my visit. It's wonderful
Great video. Puts it all in perspective. Also the interspersion of history is nice and THANK YOU for english subtitles.
One of the best geographical information in my life , which I had seen❤
Probably u r the only person who has presented all the detail info in shortest time & best way.....so obviously subscribing....Best wishes to you...Bhagwan Ganpati bappa shower his blessings on you & your family....

Perfect.. amazing.. everything is so good.. language, voice, content, pictures, videos, data, google earth.. just utilized everything optimally...
Wow!! Nicely explained...so combining of all the powerful rivers finally become Maa Ganga🙏
Dhanyawad!
Relevant, accurate and crisp information. I like his theme of conveying more information in lesser words. Graphics are excellent. Really appreciate his documentaries.
Very nicely explained. I just completed kedarnath badrinath yatra and filled water from Rudraprayag sangam. The meeting of 2 different rivers are amazing 👏 😍
First time seen I have seen such an accurate video on alaknanda and beyond that other information it was very helpful.keep it up bro ❤️
Do a video for bhagirathi also
My goodness.. what an extraordinary work brother .. keep it up.
बाबा बागनाथ की कृपा आप पर सदैव बनी रहे. Bageshwar, uttarakhand is so proud of you.

very very very impressive, clear and engaging description and presentation. i bet no one in the world can stop this video half way
Brilliant channel !! The hard homework presented so simply for the viewers. Absolute genius!!!
Delivering premium and informative content as always! 💯💯💯
Also that sarcastic tone you make when delivering a punch (like the one at the end of Madho Singh Bhandari story) is too good 😂🔥
Thankyou!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Chopta route is not only the shortest route from Kedarnath to Badrinath, most importantly, it is the traditional route used for thousands of years to reach from Kedarnath to Badrinath! My Bharat. My Pride!🙏💪🇮🇳
Thankyou for this detailed video. I will have to see it numerous times before i can completely understand.
I recently visited uttarkashi and bhagirathi so this video is helping me decode all the prayag and the river names..
Such a lovely video! I've seen your videos about Nanda Devi and Kumaon regions and they all are very informative. Keep up the good work of informing people!
People like You are a blessing to our uttrakhand... Keep rocking and keep sharing with us such amazing informative videos... 🤟🤟🤟

Excellent naration. You took me my remembrance of my trip to Gomukh, Kedar and Bhadrinath. Alaknanda was really good sight in Bhadrinath flow very forceful with a roar. Jayaram
Commendable...it feels really nice to know that someone is so invested and work hard to share such details, information 👍👍👍
I feel very grateful when you make videos about Himalayas in anyway. The Nanda Devi Sanctuary one is my all time favourite video.
As a Himalayan enthusiasts it's my dream or motive to visit the origin of both bhagirathi and alaknanda along with their tributaries. Few weeks ago i completed the half of the dream which is Bhagirathi origin and with the sense of extreme joy and determination I'm in hope and excited for Alaknanda and Dhauli ganga ( which can be a little hard to reach basudhara tal) but fingers crossed.
Really appreciate the hard work you put in to make these video editing, gathering information, script which is so good that one do not need visuals.
You're doing great. 🙌
I too went to Gaumukh this June. It was best day of my life standing there and watching Ganga Maiya. My next goal is to see Nanda Devi from Kauri pass. Then I’ll go to the origin of Alaknanda.
Thankyou very much!
Bro whatever you are doing just be consistant
Your are giving 100% of efforts
Your animation is also too good
And you introduce things very clearly
Very informative and well researched content.Just amazing, calm and clear commentary. Very well explained.Living almost on the banks of Alaknanda since last six years.Felt connected.Best wishes for upcoming videos.
