- Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. This small forest axe I found at flea market and bought for USD $2. The stuff is good but need attention. The weight of axe is small but it will be good for little jobs.
Restoration process:
I removed handle and via electrolysis process I removed rust from the axe.
I used anglegrinder machine to remove some deep dark sports and correct the shape of axe.
I used sandpapers and files to finish correction of the shape.
Also, I polished the axe and etched the blade.
For handle, I used oak tree and brass rivets and once aluminum.
Finally, I used two components paint and linseed oil for handle. And as usual made test for you. I hope you will enjoy this restoration video.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

Well done sir. I like the fact that your restorations are focused on usable instead of polished metal that will just sit on a shelf. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice restoration and beautiful axe. I love when you engrave something in the metal as it makes the tool much more attractive. You are becoming a serious contestant in the world of restoration. Imagine if, eventually, you have a good shop and many more special tools. Keep on going we love you.

Amazing restoration, great video.
Sir you are a master and with minimum number of tools.
Are you able to order custom decals that adhere better than tape? It would make the etching super clean!
Beautiful nice work
Perfeito.

Im loving the etching. Thanks for sharing. Do still have the horse themed cleaver? That would be interesting to revisit it for etching.
Hello sir, thank you for attention. Yes I have that cleaver.

The etching worked great! 🧡 Do you know when the axe was originally made?
Nice job man, 1:06🤣🐺

Another great save . I really like the animal etchings you have been doing lately . Do you think that technique will work on a stainless steel blade ?
love it great job Hugs
dear sir, thanks for advising me how to make electrolysis with the power supply , i have an old computer power supply
Use baking soda, not salt: salt produces chlorine gas.
I would have saved the old handles if not to go back on it but as scales for another
