- Old Rusty Handmade Axe Restoration
Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. This old rusty axe I was found at flea market and bought few months ago. The shape of axe, head is not standard. It's handmade axe, but for what I don't know. The axe is heavy and may be its bone chopper or something else. In any cases I should restore it!
Main points of restoration process:
I removed old handle from axe and start to used electrolysis. Then I cleaned the axe via water and cleaning agent. I used files to correct the axe shape. To removed dark color from ax I used iron brushes and finally to make one similar surface I used iron chloride. Further I started to made handle from ash tree. I used brass rivets and finally two component paint and linseed oil for impregnation. Also, I made sheath for axe from wood. It's light and useful scabbard. I hope you will enjoy this restoration video.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

One of my favorites for sure. Definitely not standard axe or cleaver. Love the red in the dye you used. Another great job
Yeah I saw a video of guys over in Asia using these, I forget what they're called but they are the most popular chopping tool apparently

Nice "Pакета" vacum cleaner. We also had one when I was a child.
Nice "file" work! You keep doing more re-imaging / rebuilding better, than just "restoration."
Great job!
You are getting good at English now wow keep it up good job
Muy buen trabajo amigo
Nice restoration, looks fantastic.
Bravo süper
Thanks my friend for a great video, but I have a request. I would like you to produce a video on how to get the axe or a knife that sharp.
Be safe
Hello sir, I will emphasize this in the next video.
In this hatchet, the most interesting was the handle made of textolite - a rather exotic material for our time.
Excelente trabalho
Gosto muito do trabalho.
Que vc desempenha como restaurador
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
OMG it’s a very nice axe
Best regards
🤗
Color of the handle looks so good
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls

Wow, I have no idea what that axe is for, but superb work. I wish I could sharpen and strop blades as you do.
Hello! Thank you)
That didn’t look like much but turned out really nice!
Muito bom!! 🇧🇷👍👍
I'm subscribed to you
Thank you so much!
Exelent job!
Well that was pretty cool!
i think that was made for chopping bone...possibly for a butcher....
Agree. Looks about right for separating the sternum. We use a Sawzall, now, though.
Or for splitting wood but i guess bone makes more sense
I have been hooked on this channel absolutely love your work as said before like the use of "old school tools " and new ones great work if I miss a video I go back and watch keep it up!!!!!!! Hello from Arkansas USA
Good Restoration Done 👍

Amazing
Great work!!! Remember, hands aren’t made for hammering.
Really good job on the handle. And the whole axe looks great too. 👍🏻
If you buying a rusty tools like this in the flea market you will buying it then you can restore it by yourself being a restoration expert is always doing his job to restore these rusty items and rusty tools is it
Muito bom!!
2:22 That's so satisfying
Craftsman!!
Awesome informative Video experience 👏 Y'alls
I like the idea that you didn't make it look like it just came from a shelf at Walmart.
This is so beautiful 😍 amazing job
half cleaver and half axe ... great, the color of the wood is perfect
That looks incredibly rustic. The neighbors better watch out, with an axe like that I’d be afraid you’d steal my horses and women.
:D
Spasibo bolshoe!
Yes! I like. What is The two components color? Thank you, your vídeos are amazingly relax 👏🏼👏🏼💯💯
Two-component paint, this is a normal hair dye. You can use the cheapest result will still be good. After you paint the material, you need to wait from 30 to 60 minutes.
👍🍻🇪🇸🇪🇸👍👍muy bonita y manejable
C O O L !!!
great job man. 13:49 very funny chinese style
nice
Vicious!
Why do the rust treatment and cleaning first instead of just using a grinder or sanding disc. Just wondering nice job.
Hello sir, thank you for attention. Because if you will going to use only angrindermachine I will lose a lot of metal and make a lot of dust in my workshop. In my case the electrolysis remove a lot of rust without problem and very fast and then I can used another stuff to make similar surface (shiny or dark).
Really nice! It will kiillllllll 😂
How did I miss your ponytail beard the first time 😂
This was the moment when everything in the city was closed and even hairdressers. Although, I always wear a long beard, I like it.

Looks like a very handy style axe . What is in the 2 component paint that goes on white , then turns that rich reddish brown color ? Stay healthy brother .
Hello sir, thank you very much for attention. The two components paint it's paint for hair. The most common. The liquid include consisting of a mixture of oxidizing dyes (pigments), ammonia or its substitutes, a base and hydrogen peroxide.

Thank you . My sister in law is a beautician, maybe she knows what it is called in the U.S. I like the way it makes the handles look .
@@richardpalmer6196 You can use the cheapest hair dye, it works well on wood. For a good result you need to wait from 30-60 minutes. Welcome.
Very cool! What is the 2 part wood stain?
He’s used it for a long time: hair dye
It looks like the blade we use to harvest tobacco
Another great video! Has the current situation with the virus affected you in any way?
Thank you sir! Yes, it did, I'm running out of supplies and old things. I can't sell anything because everything is closed. I wish you good health!
What an interesting piece... it was doing work to do that wood haha
What are the two components paint for the wood
Hair dye
👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍
May tha 4th b wit u! 😂😂😂😂😂
@@Drsollo
Hi, do you sell what you have restored
Hello sir, thank you for attention. While there was no virus, Yes, I sold my products sometimes.
🗡️🤤
That axes handle is strangely long for such a small blade 🤔
I notice you use 2 part paint a lot. What is the benefits of 2 part paint on the handles?
Hello, thank you for attention. It's very cheap, fast and need a little time for dry.
Screws And Tools makes sense why you use it then! Thank you for your reply and I will endeavor to find some here in Australia.
@@efeightyeight This is the most common hair dye. Good luck and thank you!
Why do you always drill new holes in the handle?
I don't trust old ones, most often they are different sizes or uneven.
