Saw is perfect when not on large jobs, and when needing something light and easy, or on the go. Performance testing ranks it the lowest on the current leaderboard, but don't let that fool you as the test were really designed for full size framing saws.

I have been using this saw on the job site for about a year now and I love it. When doing heavy and fast cutting though I use my LXT 18 VX2 rear handle saw. That thing is a beast.
100% agreed!
I own this saw and it has been accurate and great. At times I have pushed it to the limit but takes care of business.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ thank you!
Love your channel hope seeing the milwaukee 2732 on track soon 😎
It won’t be 2732, the track saw will be 6-1/2 version. As per Home Depot leaks, it will be guide compatible and not true track saw, which has redesigned dust port and collection system.
Wish they made this as blade left, and track compatible base. It would be the only saw I would need
the xsh04 has an accessory that makes it compatible with the track. XSH03 has one too, but I don't think it works well as I have tried it myself.
@@ProxyFinal I tried the adapter for xsh04 and there was too much wobble. I have xps01 tho
@@Juraj037 I was really debating to get that adapter, so thank you for answering my concern. I love the Makita track saw, so maybe you should consider that. I will probably look into the XGT saws that are compatible with the track. When it comes to circ saws, I usually go with Makita.
@@ProxyFinal I have too many saws, I started with Milwaukee which I love but then makita deals started popping up and everything except the 21” mower xml08 paid 699 w 4-5s and the track saw xps01 kit 585, everything else was almost free after you sell the batteries etc. I really love td172 impact driver. I also have the 13 inch trimmer which is super lightweight. I love makita as a brand, it’s a little different than Milwaukee. Different in a better way. I still love Milwaukee but certain things I prefer makita.
@@Juraj037 yea, didn't know xps01 was the makita track saw. There are deals all the time which it's good as this allow us to try other brands.
I really wish we could get corded versions of these compact tools.
Very helpful. Love the spreadsheet. As a diy-er, I just need to break down 2x's and sheet goods. This saw is #1 on weight. Plenty of saws are twice as heavy, even cordless. For a relatively small and light circular saw, do you have suggestions on left or right slide blade for a right handed user?
Nice review and well explained. 👌
thanks!
Curious how this compares to the m12 fuel circ saw as it is also intended to be a compact system.
Great review! I'm going to be using my Sub-c LXT for interior cutting with dust collection. What brand (silicone?) dust adapter did you use between the Makita adapter and the hose?
I have Rockler quick connects for hand tools in the shop, but want to keep it simple for out on a job. Thanks for any help you can offer.
I've been using the Rockler dust right system: www.rockler.com/dust-right-flexiport-power-tool-hose-kit-with-click-connect-3-to-12-expandable-hose . The previous generation ones were blue, these are grey.
But whatever doesn't fit, I usually just pad out the fitting with 3m temflex splicing tape. It's electrical tape, but it's thick rubber, so it pads out nicely. amzn.to/4eyty2j
What is this wellcentive on the t-shirt ?
Good video. Using this right-handed, can you rely on the marker on the front without seeing the blade?
hmm. i usually don't use the marker, as i usually look directly at the blade. the line of sight isn't the bet, but works ok. If anything makita is usually good for accuracy so you probably could use the marker, I just don't
great review
Thanks!
So you wouldn’t recommend this for ripping plywood if I were to use it on plywood for 6 hrs
For that, it would probably be fine, and a great tool. But the bigger Makita sols would probably do it faster. Not sure how much ply when you’re gonna be ripping.
@@4thewinak I looked through your videos and didn’t see a video on the 18v makita circular saw 6 1/2” did I miss it
that lever on the guard will break especially if you are the type that doesn't give a damn about how you treat your tools. I personally own this saw and I can't really complain as I pretty much got it for free, but I have to say that I find myself grabbing this saw for doing punch list. I like the aluminum shoe base as it glides just fine and I don't need to care if I get it scratched up underneath. The sightline is poor (even from the other side) and everything else is just average, but maybe because I understand its limitations that I've grown to accept it (oddly enough). Makita XSH03 6.5 is still one of my favorites, which it's technically blade left (non top handle) of the XSH04.
true. agreed
I put some red epoxy at the tip of the sightline, helped me out a bit for crosscuts but for any rip cuts I always use a guide.
I shim the guard on every circular saw I use.
I like the size but it's weak as fuck. I made a rip of mdf and it started to bind.
All Makita blade right battery saws have bad sightlines down left side.
Wtf are their designers smoking ?
Yeah I’m not exactly sure why manufacturers don’t make blade left top hand saws.. I mean it should be the most common saw manufactured.
@@4thewinak Blade right saws are the most common for a multitude of reasons and I am right handed and prefer blade right saws .I have used Makita blade right corded saws for years
Because of the excellent sightlines down both sides of the blade but these Makita battery saws have terrible ergos and I can't see the cut lines so I went Dewalt ☝️.Thanks for your excellent reviews.
This circular saw is bad I bought it because makita did good circular saws corded ,but this one can’t cut panels 1 1/2 panels , the blade all the times goes bent , I don’t recommend for cut panels or long cuts
