Thank you very much, I got to rebuild both Swing Cylinders on my Case 580-E this Spring, I was worried about the job, But not now, You took all the guess work out of. Great Job. Jeff
@@bigdavid1 No, It looked like you new what you were doing. I wanted to ask you, did you leave both Hydraulic Lines connected to the Cylinder? I bought the 2 Swing , 2 Stabilizer, 1 Boom Cylinder repack kits a few Years a go. Im going to start with the swing Cylinders first because there in the worst shape. O ya, I also got a kit to reseal the Steering Ram, Ill bet that will be fun to get that little Seal that you used the Tool to collapse put in place. Im going to order that install tool. Jeff
@@MrCowboyjeff on those two cylinders YOU CAN LEAVE THE HOSES CONNECTED, because the way they are designed and hooked up the fluid leaks to both of them. But, you should remove the nuts from both cylinders and leave them loose so the back pressure will not build up...also I have videos on the stabilizer and the boom..........
Great video , built my confidence to tackle the job myself , got all the necessary tools on line , the inside seal I put back the way it came out , the lip facing out , " evidently it was put in wrong before I got it , and i just realized i did it wrong as well
Thanks for posting this greatly informative video. One question: What snap ring pliers did you use to remove the snap rings on the cylinder pins? I'm having a tough time finding anything that will work. Brand, handle and tip size would be helpful.
"I wish I was twenty years younger"....me too, and the arthritis hurts. But great educational video. When I got back from vacation my son had broken the head off the cylinder rod. Next week I'll give it a try.
Thanks for making this video because I just bought a Case 580 SL and it’s leaking in the same spot and to have someone work on that would probably cost a lot of money and what is that pliers to take off the the round cotter pins with the 2 holes called
Enjoyed your video, getting ready to attempt my case 580 SL swing cylinders. Does it matter if my boom is in the lock position or should i place it to the ground as was yours? Thanks in advance
Congratulations on the video Mr David. Please, do you replace the oil that came out of the cylinders in the hydraulic system? Embrace of your subscriber, Luciano, from Brazil.
Hi BigDavid.. im not sure if i have missed the part where u put in the hydraulic fluid.. all i saw was the greasing part.. was that it? Or that process was left out from the video?
Hi Big David 1 Great vídeo. Could You help me Please? I don't speak inglish but i try do My Best escuse My mistakes. How do I remove the liner and whip from new Holland LB75 stabilicer control valveI I allready removed the two ear bolts on the valve and it. Does not come muy.
watching the reinstall it appears that you did go back and correct the wiper seal that was in backwards. Why did you not mention that in the video...gave the impression that it did not matter
at time 25 min 45 sec ... in the video, it stated that I swapped the seal, looks like when you're young you don't have much attention span either...........
Air has to be let in from the other side of the cylinder to break the vacuum which will not let the cylinder rod to be pulled out.. You did not show how to do it..Instead you devoted entire video to show the obvious how to replace the seals.

thank you for your comment, this the first time I even attempted those...... as you can probably tell in the video.............

@bigdavid1 the way it was explained to me, whatever side the pressure is on is the side you put the cup of the seal. Great video.
Hola amigo muy buen vídeo, que torque le das al tornilllo que aprietas con la pistola neumática...
No le pone torque ,por eso le pone un poco de sellador de roscas para que no afloje

Awesome video, where did you purchase the tool for the seal to fold for the inner cylinder and what is that tool called? Thanks
Best instructional video so far... Good job
What size is the socket to take apart the cylinder that big socket that is on your impact wrench and how big is that impact wrench is it 1/2 inch
I bought a 1966 ck 530 case 180 Diesel Backhoe for the farm for $2500.00 everything is been replaced and rebuilt
I can't get mine off, the cylinder gland nut is ridiculous, bending the pin tool....heat, what do I do?
Thank you. This will help me on mine. You may have put the dust seal in upside down in the gland. What do you think?
Sure looks upside down. The steel side of the dust seal should seat into the gland... Looks to me like he hammered the neoprene wiper into the seat.
I didn't watch long enough before commenting. He actually addresses it later on.
Great Video. Thank You
Great video. Talk to cylinders people today 400.00 plus to repack this cylinder. I will doing for price of kit

Congratulations on the video Mr David. Please, do you replace the oil that came out of the cylinders in the hydraulic system? Embrace of your subscriber, Luciano, from Brazil.
I also bought a 1973 Ford f-700 DUMP truck for $2500.00 for the farm the DUMP truck has been well maintained before I bought it
Thanks for that video, good job
Hi BigDavid.. im not sure if i have missed the part where u put in the hydraulic fluid.. all i saw was the greasing part.. was that it? Or that process was left out from the video?
You should have taken off one hydraulic line on each cylinder and it comes off easily and goes straight back into the cylinder with out any problems
Very helpful . Thanks!
Muy buen video no lo pueden traducir al español. Se lo agradecería muchísimo 🙏 gracias.
thanks awesome video
u put the wipper seal in backwards.... going to fill the seals full of dirt now.
Great video¡ muy bien 👍
I’d like to know where you got those heavy duty snap ring pliers
ebay years ago
@@bigdavid1 all right thanks bud
Your videos are great! I’m going to do this job on my 590sm. Do you use the hytran fluid in yours or have you used a aw46 for the hydraulics?
aw46
Excellent presentation sir very well done
Is it possible to just do one side or do both nuts have to be loose....will unpinning one side work?
Makes it much Easier when both nuts are loose so you will not have any back pressure
Where did you get the tool to fold the inner ring?
Amazon
Thanks! What did you do with the hydraulic lines (disconnecting or isolating the cylinders) before taking it apart?
Just put a plug in the lines where no dirt Enters the hose
Good explain. Blessings
The last O-Ring 22:54 you matched up with the old one you took off you ended up using the old one instead and tossed the new one back.
Good catch
Thank you good video
