You only quit a job when you have a better-paid job lined up or your business is starting to make income better than your current job.....the girlfriend stage is the best you're going to get and if that is causing you problems already....sad. I think the best thing you can do is allowing her to find her self and grow up. Run. Don't waste time or know how much time your willing to waste to allow her to mentally grow, but a leopard doesn't change is stripes it just covers it with makeup, and when it rains you know the stripes become visible again.

OMG - wish I'd heard this call 20 years ago. Ex wife that I was dating had tons of bills. Asked me to help, I thought I was "helping". In reality, we spent the next 9 years struggling with money. She left, and eventually became homeless. :( I'm looking forward to a great retirement with the right lady the second time. My humble opinion, run like the wind.

I was in a similar situation over 30 years ago. A woman who I dated for just three weeks and then wormed her way into my bedroom after that third date, wanted me to help her pay her bills shortly after that. She said, "that is the least I can do for her because we were sleeping together". I "kicked her to the curb" in an instant! I also vowed then to NEVER "sleep" with another woman until I knew everything there was to know about her, even if it took many months. That over the years has worked out a whole lot better for me.

I was in this same situation for 6 years with a woman. She was a total disaster when it came to finances, would not hold a job simply because she didn’t like it all the while I’m working OT every week trying to save and invest for a future for us. But she constantly held me back by needing me to pay her bills and like an idiot I did because if I didn’t she would dump me and threatened to move away and i’d never see her again. Finally she did that anyway and now 2 years later she’s conning some new fool and my finances are better than ever now that she’s gone. I wish I’d left her so long ago would have save a lot of money and heart ache.

To the caller, I was really in the exact same situation but I acted stupidly different and I paid off her debts, then things got pretty well for her and she convinced me to get more loans to be able to afford our life together now she dumped me and I am drowning in debts and I was stupid not to see what kind of person she was, I learned my lesson the hard way, this is the first time sharing my story, but I feel you bro and please don't do the same mistake, she's using you as she's so selfish and won't stop until she drains you dry, get rid of her asap, good luck bro anyways

Best thing my parents taught all seven of us kids, was work ethic. That working any type of job is something to be proud of and to never quit a job until you have another one lined up. As a woman, I would tell this young man to run. She obviously does not share the same financial goals in life.
Run Dave Run! She needs a life coach and career counseling. There is no way a boyfriend can do that for her because she'll resent and ignore everything he advises.

I helped pay for an ex's bills back when we were in university together.
She turned out to be physically abusive and a lazy sack of potatoes that planned to never work another day in her life.
Lesson learned.

I wish I had learned this lesson sooner. My Ex was like this girl. Not as bad thankfully. She held down a job. It just wasn't enough to cover her spending habits. I left her a single bill - her car payment - which she had before we met. I DID bail her out of getting the car repossessed (red flag anyone?) when we first met. Back then I was debt free with a savings.
I would have advised the guy to dump the girl - until she grows up and starts handling her own problems. He should absolutely NOT marry the girl or "sleep" with the girl until she does.

Find someone that shares your same values and is willing to better herself. Run this person sounds like she’s lazy and a user. Also find someone with a good heart and smart.

Before you make statements like that, I would encourage you to put your energy into finding a high quality woman, like I have found. They really do exist.
