I never realized how badly he’s been treated until a couple months ago.
It’s sad how he and Spider-Man are constantly getting shafted by the writers.
It’s because you can’t have it all in comic stories; you can’t be hot, smart, compassionate, have golden morals, witty, have a hot stable girlfriend, a nice ass, AND have your life go peacefully. The comic writers won’t allow it 😢
I think Parker’s life ending would have been better than the mess they made of his life right now.
Nightwing is not the only character that DC hates. DC hates Wally West and they hate The Watchmen Universe

At least Dick and Wally are in a much better place now than they were 5 years ago. Nightwing and the Titans are now the new premier team since the JL have all moved on and Wally is the current Flash.

At this point, Nightwing should just retire. They clearly don't want him to succeed. Maybe he can open up a chain of restaurants or something. He could call the business Night Wings. A percentage of the earnings from the business can be donated to Crime Stoppers or something so he can still do something to help fight crime.

I wouldn't say witnessing tons of murders, including his own parents murder, being tortured by a deranged Two Face as a child and running into all types of weird stuff in Gotham growing up is exactly what I would consider to be growing up properly. Nightwing and pretty much all the Robins have a wilder childhood than even Batman.

You can’t deny that a lot of these especially the injustice bit was just doing dick Grayson dirty, however, I won’t push it to the point of saying DC hates Nightwing as we’ve recently gotten The Vampire King Grayson in comics and it’s pretty good and shows some of the best feats of Grayson. Still doesn’t change the fact that for the past ten or so years Dick has been constantly underutilized and straight up bullied by writers.
So Marvel hates Spider-Man, and DC hates Nightwing. The writers have to be jealous of their rizz skills to make them suffer this bad.

@@lord_of_lords10 Spider-man in the main comics constantly get 2 or 3 beyond horrible things happen to him every part of a comic run, and Peter Parkers across the multiverse constantly have apocalyptic fates for like 100 Peter Parkers in the multiverse then end with him dying the most gruesome death possible, tortured endlessly or going completely insane if he's lucky.
When a multiverse or darkhold or what if comic comes out, the Spider man writers laugh with glee as they fill the Spider-man pages with the most gruesome fates possible for dozens of versions of Peter Spider-man, while the current writer for the main Spider-man is a NTR nut who makes him suffer needlessly on a constant basis.

3.Xmen and being the most Widely known Teen Superhero Team in All of American Comics with Dick Grayson being the Poster Child for the Leader of this Team for Decades.
Young Justice Was the Best Animated Series to tackle the younger Generation of DC Heroes that are littered everywhere and Widely Popular compared to the Lackluster Marvel Comparisons.
Um sick Grayson never led the X-men and X-men is marvel while Dick is DC. He led Teen Titans.

True, but he was still berated by many members of the Team for keeping secrets and acting like Batman, even though he previously stated that he didn’t want to be Batman, leaves the Team and gives the leadership role back to Kaldur, even though Kaldur said that Duck was born to lead the Team, and shafted his built up relationship with Zatanna for Barbara.

The guy hates legacy characters and has screwed over some of them, but he LOVES all the edgier characters, there's even record that his favorite Robins were Jason Todd and Damien Wayne. This is the same guy who said "Heroes shouldn't be happy". You think Dick Grayson has been done dirty, wait until you see how they have been hoeing both *Wally* *West* (Kid Flash in Young Justice and The Flash in Justice League/Unlimited) and *Static* *Shock* 🤦

honestly many of the Legacy Characters started getting disrespected and replaced once Damian, Jon and Yara Flor showed up, and now they're replacing Yara. Tim Drake and his generation get hit with the disrespect stick the hardest.
DC just hates the rest of the family, they want the roster that The Animated Series had, Batman and Robin with Batgirl and a little Nightwing, but they also don't want him because he's too popular and might overshadowed Robin and Batgirl.

That was raw when they first revealed Damian killed Dick Grayson. Then, the Comics and movie ruined it when they revealed the way he died. It could’ve been any other way. Then again, Titans did him even dirtier by turning around against a crazy red hood fan with a gun and getting shot in the throat.
Edit: 5:08 Huh. I never knew. Also, the time with catwoman was probably revenge for Bruce and Barbara being a thing.
At first, I got the feeling Bruce Timm disliked Dick Grayson. I can only think of two reasons why:
1) In the original episodes of BTAS he used him sparingly and only when he was needed, and it was well written, but in the final season Robin had to be included in every episode, so he started breaking his arm or whatever other damsel in distress thing to get him out of the story,
2) as good as he is for the batverse he ships batman and batgirl kind of obsessively (I was really grossed out by the batwoman phone call), despite there being really good chemistry between Robin and Batgirl in her first appearance. Dick couldn't be with or even kiss Barbara, notice how twice (Old wounds, subzero) thier kiss was interrupted.
In TNBA they again used him more sparingly which did give us better stories, though his relationship with batman was all over the place.
However it seems Bruce timm likes the damsel in distress role for Dick Grayson as in a lot of his movies, he is again kind of sidelined by unfortunate injuries or stupidity (I understand he loses against batman, although perhaps it should be a tougher fight, but so many other times it is just disrespectful)
It's even worse now that I realise that it just happens everywhere, please find someone to write a truly great story about him

Teen Titans Go was just a complete mockery to the origin. Nightwing smashing Harley was crazy, like I was shocked when I first watched the movie. And the way they did him so dirty in the Harley Quinn tv show pissed me off, like they really did him like that after his death, like that's just crazy.
It’s so baffling to see amazing characters like Nightwing, Wally West and Spider-Man getting hated by the writers. It’s one of those moments that i prefer read fan fiction about these characters because i know they will be treated better.

I had a Robin shirt as a lil kid, Teen Titans show blew my mind and finding out he became Nightwing and got away from Batman’s shadow made me pleased, he’s 1/3 of the OG Batman crew (bats and joker) and gets portrayed as less badass than Alfred….
In the comics for no reason the writers have Nightwing get raped twice and the first time he gets victim-blamed by multiple characters including Starfire who was his lover at the time, and the second time by some a new superhero which never gets brought up again.

Oh yeah. I remember hearing about those. Sad part is the art imitates life and shows how many people don’t care. That many men and women point it out as readers shows how messed up things still are.

@@marjeryferreira2822 dude she didn't just cheat on him , the bitch completely dumped him and made children with a dude she met like a week ago, her children look like they're 4yo which means she didn't even wait a year before giving up , meanwhile Barbara stayed on Richard side and supported him from the day they met , even when she was heartbroken after seeing him with Kori , even when she got crippled ( matter of fact, she immediately fucked Dick the moment he visited her cuz she was too excited to see him after years ) , even when Dick almost died and completely lost his memory and became a taxi driver, she kept visiting him trying to make him remember who he was , like they've been through a lot and yet they kept looking for the eachother during hard times cuz unlike MJ , Babs does understand Richard as a superhero and as a partner , her relationship with him doesn't feel forced or unnatural which is why they're relationship is one of the best superhero relationships in comics

This is hilarious when you recall in Arkham Asylum Harley lost to batman in one hit.
Animated version made sense a hit to the temple could kill someone. With the comics slips trips and falls are quite common in the workplace and lack of bad house keeping i.e loose rubble on the floor.
I find it funny how DC considers Dick Grayson to be the greatest of humanity and manages to still shaft him in some fucked up way
Nightwing definitely doesn't always get the best treatment, but they do do him right sometimes. Like I believe their is one comic where he actually beats batman in a fight, and even batman and alfred consider Dick to be like the true successor where Batman believe's he can be better them him as a hero and person, while Alfred believed in him so much that he left the Pennsworth fortune to Dick after he died (which I believe made Dick richer than Batman) because Alfred believed he could do so much good with it, and one of the first things he did with that fortune was feed the homeless and stuff.
I don't know if Court of Owls/ War of Robins is even still cannon, but there was a part in that story where Drake and Todd are dick measuring and when one of them gets upstaged he blast back with "You know Dick could have done it in less time"

You see, the Teen Titans were DC’s highest selling comic at one time, rivaling the peak of the X-Men and in large part due to characterizing Dick Grayson, someone who comic readers never thought before could stand alone from Batman. Not adapting arguably the second greatest character (yes over Joker, he’s a great villain but Robins depth and potential is insane) in the Batman universe is criminal and DC shouldn’t have control over its characters

In the comic (or somewhere else I can't quite pin it lol, long time) his death is similar but is done far better, it's established Damian throws a baton at Dick when he's annoyed or frustrated with him when they're training but he does so knowing Dick will always catch it. In this instance however Dick wasn't fully alert because of the chaos and was basically caught lacking, the baton connected and Dick breaks his neck in the fall on a sharp rock. Damian was distraught as he didn't intend for that of course and expected Dick to catch it as usual, Batman didn't know about that detail or care and that's why Damian doubles down and says screw him basically and joins up with Clark. Rare Batman L.

Actually, Starfire kept cheating on him while they were dating because her culture doesn’t see sex with people other than their partner as taboo. That and her libido was put into overdrive during one story to the point that she had to be isolated bc she was nearly raping anything male in her vicinity. They broke up bc of these factors.

Jason? Jason only has three animated appearances, those being The Under the Red Hood movie, that one LEGO movie and he was teased in Young Justice.
He also only shows up in two games Arkham Knight and Gotham Knights and one made him all whiny and the other had him looking like Jason Voorhees.

Jason is just as mistreated as all the other characters DC hates.
His character development has been running in circles for years: he constantly goes back and forth between killing and not killing, fighting against Batman and fighting with him.
Most of his media appearances get him wrong. In Titans and that Lego movie he's a whiny baby, in Batman ninja he's an edgelord, in Young Justice he doesn't even speak...the only movie that truly got him right is Under the Red Hood.

Apparently in the new comic run Dick has been doing pretty well so I'm content but if you wanted quality Dick Grayson content that was animated you mainly should watch Young Justice because they give Dick his just due

In the comic he died because he snapped his neck on a rock. It was actually a really sad moment because Damien didn't want to kill him and thought he would just dodge it, then he didn't and batman abandoned him
